do you have fond memories of a console game or a pc game from the nineties or maybe even the eighties, we thought they were the bomb back then, now it looks like something drawn in an etchersketch...
We used to get these a season behind in the states, I would record Doctor Who, which ran from 10:30 through ? so it was on too late to watch and they started playing Red Dwarf after. This was the episode that convinced me I needed to introduce my friends to Red Dwarf. I brought the 1st episode for them to watch so they'd understand the idea but only one other friend started watching. It was the 1st Ace episode when everyone else started watching. My friend brought it over for everyone to watch, I remember my one friend said it doesn't matter if you know what's going on exactly that was just a funny episode.
when you look at the success of a show like Big Bang Theory. For me, red drawf laid the foundation that a show based around science (i know its in space too but generally science etc) had potential for a very good show
I find the first season very rough as they actually took the time to establish the characters and their traits properly. Even the second season isn't great but has its moments. But by season three it was brilliant and all that initial character development was worth it. In this day and age it would probably have been cancelled after one season unfortunately.
@@davidjsaul I think the stand out was Me2, there were a couple of good ones in S2, S3 was a good season, near the end of S4 was when I think the character building really paid dividends especially S5 which may be my favorite sci fi season ever with maybe Firefly as #2 in the as far as rewatchability but that's only after burning myself out on Star Trek and Wars.
I think my fave ep to this day is "Marooned" It's a perfectly contained little ep, and if we're not watching from the start, it's my go to ep to show people to introduce them to the show

Either some moves are removed from the final cut or they’re making sense. After Holly’s “illegal move” they seem to reset and begin the game again. But then the “pawn to queen 5” move doesn’t make sense unless that pawn has already been moved
Shame Norman is so moany. I now understand why they wanted rid of him after watching the extras that had him in them. He has no positivity in him at all. I do think he was by far and away the best Holly and a shame he kind of ruined it for me.

for me this show laid the foundation for shows like the big bang theory. It just showed how something based around science, technology etc can be extremely funny. It was ahead of its time
Subscribed .... but please be aware(?) This series was 4:3 aspect ratio as it was pre the introduction of the 16:9 format. Hence, the picture appears stretched in the horizontal.
@@LazarouDave Yes.. that should be fine - think there's possibly a setting needs a tweak in your editing software? If you're using one, of course? Something's defaulting to 16:9! Check the set up and see if it gives you the option to 'use settings based on original clip' - hope that's useful.
Not a show for kids. although adolescents might find it funny, and certainly teenagers, and young adults, even senor adults, or just plain... then there's the elderly, well they only like things before the seventies, so there's no hope there.
