Hey buddy great data . This is one of the reasons why you’re moving up the subscription and views ladder here on UA-cam. Great detailed data. Keep them coming my friend
Thanks buddy!! I've been very fortunate with great viewers, subscribers and tons of supportive comments! I hope to keep growing...it's a lot of fun. More videos soon. Later bro!
Awesome video! Really enjoyed looking at all the data. It highlights the importance of getting a set on a good discount regardless of how good a set is. Thank you for all your hardworking going through the data and presenting it in such an enjoyable manner! Looking forward to the next one!
Phenomenal video. Based in the UK but I can appreciate the standard and skill of the data when I see it. If you share the same market as this video, this is gold dust. Congratulations on a fantastic video.
This is great stuff. I like how you compare the different data points. I think incorporating time would be another great idea. Something like each sale takes 30 min or something, so how much do you make pre hour of work. You mentioned the ease of storing the small sets, which is something that many don't consider.
Great comment, that's a really good idea. I'll kick around how I can incorporate something like that in a future video. Thanks for watching and commenting...take care!
@@kdxbricksanalytics i have tried to incorporate it into parting out sets. I have a vid on my channel where I go over my sheet. I also have one for reselling new sets. Have a look and let me know if you have any questions.

Wow amazing vid...I was wondering when 1 was going to come out and it was worth the wait. You must be a data analyst ot something in your day job lol. Great info pal , the effort and work you put in to these data tables etc is much appreciated and makes entertaining and informative viewing. Good to see the comparison with the UK.🇬🇧👍
Wow Kevin. That is a lot of work. What this data tells me is that mentions don't mean squat. I have almost never gone with majority rules type of mentality. You have to go with gut feeling. Also, with more people doing this stuff, the ROI's are not that great. That is why holding the sets for longer periods of time is the way to go. Seriously, looking at this data, one would think that investing in Lego is a 50/50 proposition. That is far from true. Lego is still an amazing investment but you have to do the several right things and be patient. Appreciate all the work you put into this Kevin but I am still going to go with my own feelings as to what to get and what to avoid. But, it is fun to still see what the masses think.
Thanks a lot. Yup, I 100% hear ya...great comment! Yeah, I use the data in my own way too...it's great to have it all, but the story we all individually pull from it will likely vary greatly. I like some of the most popular sets, but I also go for some that are flying under the radar! Take care my friend!
One trend I'm noticing since the pandemics end with many sets is that they retire, & within a few months after retirement peak out with regards to sales price, then unlike before when they would still slowly go up over time, now in best case scenarios they are actually leveling off, but in many cases, it's worse than that, they are actually dropping in price over time. While more prevalent at Ebay, it's also happening over at Amazon too. A perfect example was the Target exclusive Star Wars Republic Fighter Tank 75342, in the spring it was selling between $58-$65 with shipping on Ebay, now with shipping, you can get them on average for $40-$50, with shipping. This is not exclusive to this set, it's actually been happening quite a bit, but this is a set which I have a large position in, & at this point wondering if it will ever reach the levels seen 90 days after retirement, even if the minifigures are never reproduced. This is a troubling trend that UA-camrs are not really talking about, but is tough to deal with, because before you would just wait one to two years, and usually get the largest ROI, now if you do that, in many cases, you've waited too long, & are getting a substantially lower ROI.
That would be great! Unfortunately those sets don't get talked about much in all the other UA-cam videos I watch. So I'd be limited to just doing a ROI performance analysis...which still could be interesting! Maybe I'll do something like that some day. Thanks a lot for your comments!
@@kdxbricksanalytics I see and it makes perfect sense. Perhaps it is indeed in the something that could be put in the backburner. Anyway, keep the videos coming will keep clicking! Have a great rest of the week!
Hello Kevin, like always awesome vids, with oustanding data! It's gives a good view of what is selling good and ROI on each item. Also the different platforms put into the different graphs give an awesome overview. I have a few ideas that maybe would be nice, it's not criticism only a few ideas Kevin! I saw that items between $0 - $25 and $25 - $50 give thet highest ROI. Maybe it would be interesting to have a view in grahs(graphs) with how many % of the selling is going into that pricesegment and because you mentioned it, that the work is the same for à cheap set versus a expensive set (maybe to keep for yourself this data) when you take for yourelf a fictional wage of $100, to see what impact it has on your other data like ROI . Also it would be nice, but thats a difficult one, so dont shoot me, to have for example a few times a year/ or only once a year a collaboration with some other youtube channel holders over the world (for example Europe, UK or AUstralia) with common data about same items, and maybe a new instake, about what items are going good/ an bad on each continent! So i know that would be much work, so it's only an idea or suggestion Kevin!
Hi Sophie! Great ideas... I always love your comments! Yeah, they might be tough to make happen, but I'll let them roll around in my head for a while and see if I can put something like that together someday! And no worries at all! ... I always love to get feedback, ideas, constructive criticism, etc. More data around LEGO investing would be awesome... I definitely do what I can, but finding the time is always the challenge 😁 Take care, all the best and thanks again!
Since you are new to Amazon, it would be cool to put out a video on what you think. Maybe after Q4 to see how it goes for you. Venom 3 movie comes out later this month, so that might give the Carnage set a bump. Great to see data.
@@kdxbricksanalytics Hey, love your info as well, very informative for sure. I just left a separate message on many sets peaking out soon after retirement, then going in the wrong direction thereafter. When you get a chance would like to get your quick thoughts on this aggravating trend, which makes one almost have to guess if a set has quickly peaked out. In the separate message, I only mentioned one example, but it's been happening a lot lately, another that comes to mind is the Ashoka Brickhead from last year.
Yeah, you're 100% right. A lot of us have been talking about longer hold times... So I'm wondering if this is the normal cycle but stretched out: an initial bump, then leveling off and cooling some, and then the initial wave of secondary market stock is gone to where the set can actually grow in value in earnest. Now instead of 18 to 24 months, we're looking at three or so years. But yeah, you're definitely picking up on a newish trend that I want to keep my eyes on. Great comments, take care buddy!
@@kdxbricksanalytics I'm hoping you are right on the glut that may only last 18 months, shortly after resellers realize that the set has actually retired. So for the next year, I'm going to hold steady on the Republic Fighter Tanks at a minimum of around $60, with shipping ( had sold my first 10 around $65 in March ), in hopes that they bounce back. Hopefully, the demand, can start to eat into the supply, right now 600+ listings on Ebay for it, with some sellers showing huge quantities, yikes........ but like you said, going to need to be patient, because it shouldn't drop below it's current Ebay price of around $50, with shipping.
The problem is these days there are a lot of people reselling retired lego sets, they may be advertised on eBay and selling sites at a certain price, all not actually selling due to a flooded market.
The secondary market is definitely flooded...a lot harder to pick winning sets. For this video (and all of my videos) I only use sold eBay and Amazon prices.
Kevin you are the Data Dude 📈 love it. I wonder what the winning combination out of all of that data would be, sets of a certain value/ short shelf life/theme. As a new Amazon seller, I’d love to hear about your experiences so far. I’m hoping to do the same next year but now we have ZERO selling fees on eBay to factor into the equation here.
Yeah, I was thinking that too...based on all the data, which set is the perfect set. i.e. which set sits atop the inflection point. Maybe I could do something like that...assign values for each metric and calculate a "total" score! Amazon selling is going OK so far. Their seller central interface seems outdated and somewhat confusing. Also, sets sell, then get cancelled, then sell again, then show as stock, then get warehoused, and then all those actions could happen in random order. Selling on Amazon definitely only works with high volume...which I don't have yet. But I'm enjoying playing with it and figuring it out! Yeah, you guys having zero eBay fees is awesome! That hasn't come to the states yet. Great comment, all the best my friend!

Yes, but that video aired 8 months ago in February. Now that the '22 retirement class has had another 8 months in the secondary market, the ROI performance has changed (which would be expected).
