I don't even know where to begin. I always wanted to make a video about the two of them. A bit more than two years ago, when I started to watch the show, and I first saw the pilot, I immediately thought "omg they have to meet". And I searched up for spoilers to see if they met, haha, I was so naive :)) I used to ship them romantically, and I kinda do it still, I wouldn't complain at all if they are to marry IF the writers make it believable.
Because that's the thing - they're soo different in my eyes. Different personality, different journey, different point of view, different everything, and I don't think it's the "opposites attract" kind of way. I don't even think it's the "two sides of the same coin" kind of way. I can't compare them at all, it's like how do you compare a circle and a triangle?
But still, they have so many parallels - you can just tell these two gotta meet, their paths just gotta cross, you can tell that there is a connection between them like between no other characters in the show, you can tell that in the end it's gonna come down to the two of them - and I find it really fascinating, even if not in a romantic way anymore.
I really have zero idea of how these two would interact after they met, of what dynamic they would have - I have no idea at all, because as I said I see them so different people, like different on a whole another level.
But anyway, I just CANNOT wait to see them on screen together - they just gotta meet, they just gotta.
So, many of these parallels are a faaaaar reach, many times it's only the camera angle, or a word, or just a similar theme or something like that, but it was a real challange to bring them all together :D I think it's the longest fanvideo I've ever edited? I started it weeks ago but I only edited a few little parts, but then two days ago I went crazy and I finished it all. And all I did today was trying to render it, omg... I rendered for the first time for 2 and a half hours, and it turned out that the whole thing was so pixelated, so I had to re-render it again. THEN wait an hour to upload here. Then spend like a half hour with the subtitles. I really started to lose my patience :D
So I just really-really hope you'll like it, and feedback is really appreciated, because I really put much work in it, and huh... I'm really glad I could even finish it :))

Okay... That's not entirely true. Dany has been raised a refugee orphan. Her brother likely sexually abused her, for years and then sold her for his own gain. Throughout the series, Dany has taken every opportunity and conquered. She is a conqueror. She's not a very good ruler but she's a proven leader and commander of three armies now. She wasn't handed any of that. Has she performed poorly as Queen of Meeran, maybe. But she wasn't given that. She
Elizabeth Darvell Mehreen was trial and error but to become a better queen and ruler, she needed to learn from her failures.
Meereen was literally a testing ground meant to challenge her abilities as a leader of people rather than a conqueror. You can't expect a person who was never learned how to lead and control a city of thousands be able to effectively do so. Considering her lack of experience in the matter, she did fairly well - better than most would have in the same position.
Elizabeth Darvell - I feel like their journeys are opposites. She lived a life on the run from assassins but was still treated well by her benefactors because she had a title. Jon had the opposite of a title, he's a bastard. Dany took her power with fire and blood because it's all she wants, the throne. Jon earned his power through his actions and was reluctant to take it because he doesn't want power. Jon is the song of ice and fire, Lightbringer, born from The Prince that was Promised and Nissa Nissa. If Jon is Lightbringer, born to save the world, and he hands his power over to Dany... Doesn't that make Dany the anti-hero, the person keeping the hero from saving the world from evil? 🤔 I think yes! The King in the North!

With stories like Game of Thrones rarely do the heroes/main characters themselves have a happy ending, they'd barely even survive.
It's their friends and common folk who get to live happily in the end (that will probably be Sam, Gray Worm, Missandei, those kind of people).

Everyone is expecting an unhappy ending, but we must remember that Martin does the unexpected which is why Ned and most of the Starks have died. So I would say that the unexpected thing would actually letting our heroes have a happy ending.

I have to admit I do ship them romantically, have from the very beginning haha, but if anything I will appreciate the fact that they are the two remaining Targaryens in all of Westeros and that in and of itself will make their meeting epic. That being said, I feel like you absolutely conveyed all of that in this video. They truly are two very different people but I loved how you highlighted all the similarities in their stories, especially with Tyrion's narration in the beginning. How they both rose up and became rulers and how they're both great leaders who love their people. Some really powerful and incredible editing here, thanks for putting this all together and renewing my love for these characters

I get chills from watching this video. Holy crap. I think it's rather fitting, considering how the Starks and the Targaryens are proven to be the only houses with magical abilities/gifts in their blood and how they seem to cross paths and make history (Torrhen Stark bending the knee 300 years ago to the Targaryen king, thus ending the "King in the North" succession title-which was renewed by Robb Stark-and Rhaegar Targaryen's attraction for Lyanna Stark, which ironically helped trigger the war and the subsequent fall of the Targaryens and their centuries-old empire). Whenever Starks and Targaryens meet, there are always sparks to be found and when Jon and Daenerys finally see each other face-to-face, I expect a tremendous explosion.
JON and DANY meeting together is probably the most anticipated scene in History of TV.

This is just amazing, so well done I'm speechless. Cannot wait for a video after they've met, and the whole series is finished. You're right, they are very different people but all the parallels, may it be just the cinematography choices or words, they do have the same journey and after all this time I definitely believe it leads to them meeting and being destined to save it all, together, and even ending up marrying. Some people call that "too predictable", I call it 20 years of great storytelling and the natural progression of the story. Twist and turns just for the sake of "no clichés"? No, thanks! GOT is not above love or romance, heck the whole thing is about just that: what we'd do for our loved ones, loyalty and the sacrifices they make because of it. Jonno being the neglected bastard underdog and over the years developing into a, if not the most, pivotal character of the story; a king, a saviour, the promised, wouldn't that make people annoyed instead of cheering him on? No, because that is good storytelling and character development. But, it's the same with Dany. From where they started to where they are now, it's not too predictable or cliché, it will be seven seasons of build up. How many shows and stories have done that, instead of throwing them together after two years?

Danerys Stormborn Even if Dany is going to go mad, how they did it was totally unjustified. No character develop to evil, but let’s throw that in there in 2 episodes. Dany has always had an interesting sense of ‘justice’ and I could have seen a decline in her reign, but not in 2 episodes. God I feel cheated after watching this it’s so epic

Jon marrying Daenerys is the most predictable theory. And we clearly know that GOT is not predictable. But editing is really nice.
there was a lot of predictable things coming to life in GOT... especially lately... so it can happen.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Now that it's the last two seasons, people are saying "this is predictable." You didn't predict this in the first few seasons, now did you? I highly doubt it! We are all now just slowly putting pieces together since we are nearing the end... Is it just me or was this fanvideo was just to show their journey and the parallels of it?
Anyway, Jon's growth (although he resist so) is as important as Daenery's growth (who learned very early on that she needed to be more) in becoming the right kind of ruler. Jon learned that because someone was born on the wrong side of the wall doesn't make them monsters and that monsters also exist within the wall. And most viewers has this idea that one or the other can only be good...Jon being the good while Daenery's must be the bad. But is that really the case? I believe there's good and evil regardless of which wall you're from and that there can be more than two good but different kind of rulers. I believe Daenery's had proven that she can be "the right kind of terrible," as Tyrion once said but appreciate the fact that she struggles along the process. She's not perfect and far from it. Jon needs to embrace his destiny just as Daenery's fought to embrace hers. He has the messiah storyline to the 'T' which I do get and love him for it but I also believe Daenery's is misunderstood as she rarely gets any credit for any of her accomplishment to get where she is now and how viewers somehow disregard any of her struggles as if everything just fell into place for her.
Anyway, I love watching the two transition over time and I appreciate watching their struggles each step of the way. The parallels are there which is somewhat highlighted in this wonderful video.

Well, actually, when I saw the pilot I was like "they just gotta meet at some point, they will fall in love, yeah, totally", and I heard the same from many people, so I do think it would be predictable, but I don't think that's the reason why they won't marry. (I have this personal theory that Dany will die at the very end, but i won't go into details now :D) And yep, you got it right, this video is to show their journey and their parallels, and I'm really glad you liked it, thank you so much :))
AerisVideos Really? I didn't think much of it as I saw most of them as individuals until I started looking more into Daenerys and looking into the prophecies from the books. I always loved the idea of her character but didn't really favor her; therefore, I re-watched her scenes specifically (on YT, someone has a playlist) thinking I must've missed something. And now, I can say she is surprisingly became one of my favorite characters on GoT. I couldn't believe how much I've missed in her storyline because she got lost in other characters development and as a viewer, you couldn't help but compare hers with the others.

The most annoying people are the one's who are like: 'Jon Snow is clearly better!' or 'Daenerys didn't have to work for anything..' ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME SHOW HERE? Please let me lay it out here. Dany had nothing to begin with. She was quite literally running and running from one place to another. She never had a safe place to land. She even mentions all she is doing is taking back her right. Her right to a home, her right to build a better world. A right which one of the greatest rulers & conquerors did (Aegon her ancestor). And she has earned respect and loyalty. It's not just the fact that she has acquired power, it's what she chose to do with it. This video simply outlines that even though they are worlds apart and have totally estranged backgrounds, maybe they aren't so different at all. Don't get me wrong, I love Jon and all. I'm just getting sick of these lame ass excuses to hate on Daenerys.

I'm sorry but i disagree. The fact that Dany needed three dragons to get where she is speaks for itself. Without those dragons, she would have been nowhere. Jon earned his way through everything. From being bullied by Alliser Thorne, to getting kidnapped by the wildling beyond the wall, from being a mere steward to being the Lord Commander, from being HouseStark's bastard to becoming the King in the North, he has fought and earned his way through every bit of that.
I mean, who else in the history of Westeros led the Wildling and the Night's Watch at the same time?

Let me tell you something about Dany she had pretty shitty even shitter than Jon yes he was always the bastard of his family but at least he had a family and a place too call home something that Dany never had the privilege too have from the get go, all she really had was name to herself a name that was tinted with blood.
Dany from a very young age went through many hardships the likes that not many people would ever have to go through in their entire life. Since the day she was born she had been in exiled moving from place to place just to stay alive since people where always out there looking for just too kill her. Her entire family has been taken from her she had no true friends all she had left was a brother who verbally and physically abused her and who sold her off as some sex salve at the age of 13 just so he could gain an army.
In that marriage too Khal Drogo she had been abused and raped too the point where she actually thought about killing herself (if you read the books) Yes she latter on learned to love him, but that was only because she had no other choice other than to make the best of the situation that she was forced into. Then after she finally except and embraced her new life as the wife of a Khalasar, everything gets taken from her once again she not only loses her brother, but also her husband and her unborn child. She basically starts off with nothing all over again other than a name too herself.
So no nothing ever got handed to Dany she always had fight for the things she wanted. Most people who tried to help her always secretly tried to manipulated her and expected something in return from their aid too her. Yes her dragons give her strange and power, but they do not define her as a character. The people who follow her don't follow her because she has dragons, they follow her because they believe in her and love her. She freed the slaves and gave them the choice to make their own choices, and that's what people respect about her above all else, they believe she is the one who has the power to make this world a better place.
Tyrion actually made a pretty good summery about Dany of who she is and why she is the way she is:

P.S I'm perfectly fine if people do not like Dany's character, but saying that she had an essay life and get's everything handed to her due to the fact she has dragons is not only ignorant, but also not true.

Great video. Something of which im hoping to see this coming season is both Dany and Jon rising above what had previously been judged and bestowed on them both since birth now that their both establishing themselves in Westeros. Its amazing just how much their stories parallel one another. Since birth they were both casted out, neither knowing who they truly were, and had to work for their own respects and loyalties from the ground up to be where they both are now, leaders and inspirations in their own rights. Let's see this aunt and nephew team join forces against the long night and bring back honour to their families name. It's going to be one hell of a season.
