This video touched me on so MANY levels. The 747 was introduced the year I had my Bar Mitzvah (1970) and being the aviation nut I was (am), I was totally entranced by the whole thing. I remember making up story boards and doing a presentation in my 7th grade English class about the initial test flights of the 747 using pictures from Aviation News and Space Technology magazine. When the first one landed at Detroit Metro later that year, I begged my father to take me out to the airport to see it. In 1988, I traveled on a singles trip to Israel on a El Al 747-200, and even though I was smack dab in the middle of the interior seats, I enjoyed the flight immensely. When we landed in Tel Aviv, I got down on my hands and knees and kissed the tarmac. Later in that trip, I traveled back from London Gatwick to LAX to San Diego on a British Calendonian 747. I LOVE Isael and the 747 and I'm so sad to see it leave the skies. However, through your video, I was delighted to be able to "experience" what it was like to be on El Al Flight 1747, "drawing" a 747 in the sky, and landing back in our homeland at Ben Gurion Airport for the last time. FANTASTIC job Sam - you captured the spirit of the 747 and the people of Israel, all in one amazing video! As they say in Israel "Todah Rabah" (Thank You!) and Am Yisrael Chai (The Nation of Israel Lives!).
I just love how everyone is in a good mood, spreading fun and good vibes! Now imagine every flight would be like this. Just people being happy and good sports. The world would be such a happier place

ELAL use an anti missile system on there planes. They can drops flares from the back to mislead rockets, its an automatic system who detects heat. They are also working on a laser who will point the missile at lower altitude. Also, there is standard an armed guard on the plane, he is undercover so you will never see him. He will be sitting close to the highest security risk person. He is also in contact with the pilots to give them a sign if its really needed. From that moment they will dive the plane down to so the "terrorist" will be smashed to the back of the plane and hold him away from the cockpit.
