I'm a Military Aviation UA-camr, but even for me this absolute magnificent beast is one of the few aircraft that leave me left aghast at how awesome it looks either on tarmac or indeed in the air. Truly mesmerising, yet such a frequent flier in the skies. Let's hope this final 747 proves to live up to its status🙏👊
I never got a chance to sit 747 but seeing videos of 747 and the memories people had on that aircraft is simply amazing. QUEEN OF THE SKIES now and FOREVER.

It will always be the one and only Queen of the Skies Thank you Sam for inspiring and helping me to create cool travel videos, it helped me boosting up my travel page to over 1k sub finally 😊😊✨✨
The world will regret having abolished this beautiful aircraft! I'm glad being a frequent flyer who made a lot of different flights to all parts of the globe. Even when it was possible to smoke my cigarettes in the 1980th and 1990th. Together with A380 and Concorde the best this world ever has seen!
Charlie Trippe, the grandson of Jaun Trippe, Phil Condit, the CEO under whom the 747 program took flight, and evern one of the original passengers on the first 747 flight on January 21, 1970. Sam, you'ver polished yourself into the best aviation vlogger. Cheers...
There’s still nothing like seeing a 747 either rotate for take off or setup for landing. You can rest assure she’s being watched, filmed and talked about somewhere around the world. ❤

Thank you Sam for sharing your love for this iconic plane. I remember the day when my dad took me to see the first 747 flew into Montreal (Dorval in those days). From memory it was 1970. I was 12 and can clearly remember my reaction when I could see the planes approach and its overall size. "Wow", was most likely the word I used to describe my first jumbo jet. Years later, I held a position in India (Bangalore) and my preferred flight was on BA from Bangalore to Heathrow. Super easy and wonderful.
I will always remember landing in the cockpit of a 747 in the jumpseat arriving in Paris CDG, the full view was amazing and when we landed it was smooth as hell and I wasnt sure if we had touched down as the cockpit sits so high to the ground, thanks to the AF Captain
What a great video Sam! Thank you for your amazing work. You are so right that you always remember your first love. For me, it was a Singapore Airline 747-400 departing from the Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong on a rainy day of February 1996. Even after more than 20 years, I could still remember the scene I saw from the window, the noise I heard, the vibration and the acceleration I experienced during the takeoff roll, just like it happened yesterday. The moment has ignited my love on flying and aviation forever. Now whenever I see a 747 being retired, I have to try so hard holding my tears. It is truly a mighty and elegant engineering masterpiece.
For every aviation enthusiast, these are one of the things that can make you really emotional. For Boeing producing the 747 for 54 years is actually mind blowing, but it's so sad that lot's of airlines started retiring the queen of the skies. Amazing high quality video as always Sam!!
Fantastic video Sam. Great way to celebrate the legacy of the 747. Amazing aircraft that you never tire to see or fly. There will never be an aircraft as beautiful and graceful. Always feels safe, reliable and rock solid.
@@Resh.. Memorable mainly because that fight came thru a war zone. Saddam had invaded Kuwait the day before. My kids went to sleep as soon as the refreshments were done. The crew change at Dhahran, SA was memorable because the pilots refused to leave the flight deck. As a parent, my bonus was the relative peace and quiet. Economy is brutal, specially on a 10-12 hr flight.
I am 56 years old now. When I was 8-9 years old I remember watching the movie Airport 75. It was at that point when I knew in my heart of hearts that the 747 was the most beautiful Aircraft ever built. I remember sitting in classes in school doodling all the time drawing the 747 on my folders, scratch paper, always drawing and thinking of the 747 and how awesome it would be to a pilot of one let alone just get to fly on one. Well, my health at that young age and the family life didn't allow me to pursue the dream of becoming a pilot. I remember watching all the movies and shows that had the 747 in it. There were a couple of occasions where I was on vacation trips doing stop overs at major airports and seeing the 747 at it's gate and even on taxi. I always stood there in awe as I looked and watched it. To this day I have never flown or even touched a 747. My life is not over and I know the 747's is not either. Maybe as the rest of my life continues I may be put into a situation where I will get that chance. Long live the 747! So sad that Boeing will not be producing the 747 any longer. However, I do assume there will be many of former workers and builders of the 747 employed with the manufacturing of the parts to sustain the 747 that are still in use. Thank you for these video's. As I watch each one about the 747 I can not help but feel very envious of you. Fly on!
My very first trip to the US was on 747 -400 from London to Los Angeles via Pan American on 12/3/1990. I still remember everything about that flight, including the food.
I had the pleasure of being at the 747 event. Looks like I was sat ~15 rows behind you! Loved when Travolta came up on stage, and the reveal with the doors opening at the end was so special
Sam, a beautiful job as always! - I had the privilege to design, produce and direct the television coverage for Boeing of the ATO for the 7E7, the rollout of the first 787, the first flight of the 787, the first flight of the first 747-8 and the launch of the first 747LR, and I still cried when I watched your coverage of the last 747 from the Everett plant. Thanks for staying warm and being the superb reporter and enthusiast you are. 747 FOREVER!
During a flight back in 1990 my then 10 year old son was invited into to the B747 cockpit jump seat for the takeoff from Honolulu and the landing at Nadi, Fiji. He’s now in his 40’s and has never forgotten that experience on the Queen of the skies. Thanks Sam for sharing this with all of us.
My first time riding in a 747 was 1979. It was the first time I had flew in an airplane. I was around 7 years old. She is without a doubt the queen of the skies 👍
I grew up south of Seattle and my dad worked at Boeing from 1957 until he retired. 747 #1 was common sight flying into and out of Boeing field. When we would travel up to Seattle on I5 or Empire Way, that plane and many more to come could be seen on the flightline... waiting to take flight again. It's still is.
I remember the good ol’ days of flying the 747-400ER with qantas from Sydney- las Angeles, a smooth landing and quite ride. Goodbye 747 and hopefully you will have many more amazing years with both cargo and passengers.
I love 747s, I remember the time when I saw this magnificent masterpiece for the first time. It’s been 41 years, but my love for the Queen is still getting stronger
Hey Sam, I just came across your channel and froze once I saw the 747, my all time favorite airplane!! I was on the first flight ever of a 747 Pan Am flight to Liberia in West Africa. There had been a bad tropical storm on our approach to the Robertsfield Airport. We landed very hard and bounced very high, once on the ground, the airplane slid off part of the runway. Exciting flight nonetheless!! Thank you Sam for posting events like this, it brings back lots of memories. This is Alan, GREETINGS from Riverside in Southern California. God Bless you friend! Alan
I live in Everett WA and was 8 when the first 747 flew out of here. I am now 60 and it is amazing that it is only now being retired from production. I have friends that helped build this plane. I drive by the building often, it is an awesome sight to see. Boing will always be a great part of our community.
I don't think I've ever teared up at an aviation video before, but this .. this did it. Seeing that BA 747's last landing again really just made it all hit home again. It's a moment of celebration as much as it is sad. Great content Sam.
My first trip back to Germany in 1999 after moving to the States in 1993 with my brand new husband, was on a Lufthansa 747-400. My oldest, now 25, was just about 1.5 years old. The flight crew absolutely went out of their way to make sure he had fun by showing him the galley and showering him with gifts. ❤
I served overseas including in country in Vietnam in USN and will forever remember flying back to the States in the Queen of the Sky's. Long Live Boeing and the 747 a true American Icon.
Well done Sam, thank you for marking the occasion as it should be marked. Really enjoyed your presentation. I remember watching the British Airways 747 land in Wales, but thank you for reminding me about it, I need to go and watch it again.
Mr. Chui is so connected, he is on the pulse of the aviation industry. And respected everywhere, the quality of your videos is the pinnacle on UA-cam. Happy new year Chui
So sad to hear this is the last one... I better hurry and have my first experience on it before it totally retires!! Thanks Sam for all your incredible videos!
Vivid memories of Air NZ flight from Auckland to LAX in 2000 with the family. Pilots invited my sister and myself up to the cockpit (we were 10 years old, pre-9/11 too so it was chill vibes all around). Mum told us to be very careful and not touch any buttons! It was pitch black infront of us except a sunrise light on the horizon. The Air NZ pilots were very welcoming. There's something about seeing the window infront of you on a commercial plane, as supposed seeing your little pirateship window to your left and right - that makes the memory stick with you. Well done Sam!
The low speed flypast was incredible. I think it's great to see the last 747 as a freighter. You can see all her curves, and appreciate her size and dimensions without all the windows becoming a little distracting and takes the emphasis off her other features. Great video.
Sam, Thank you for posting this video of probably the greatest commercial aircraft ever built. I had the chance as a kid to watch the 1st 747 of Pan Am land at Kennedy Airport after its flight from London. I've had the chance to fly in a couple of them in my life and it remains my favorite. What a story that is part of American history. The 747 is truly a milestone highlight of aviation.
GREAT JOB SAM! My first 747 flight was my trip to Germany with hundreds of other military folks.(flying tigers 1985) My next 747 flight was my voyage home in FEB 1988....I remember sitting on that flight back to the states...wondering what my future would be. Occasionally looking out the window at that huge wing... Exactly 1 year later...I crested the steps of a 747-400 on the Everett flightline....32 years later I would walk off her for the very last time...a young man had climbed those steps....but a blessed old man had exited for the last time.....Long live the 747! Time flies but, a 747 flies better:)
I flew the 747-200 and -400 so many times in my frequent flyer years, mostly on the unique upper deck first class on Lufthansa. Such a beautiful aircraft, I'm literally in tears seeing it going.
I remember the first time I saw the Queen of the skies, it was in 1975 in London Heathrow, my heart was beating way faster as I stood here in awe watching her. She was standing there, noble, majestic, her beauty was beyond every accolade. She was dressed in the beautiful colours of MEA (Lebanon's Middle East Airlines). I couldn't wait to board and enjoy the space she provided, the comfort, the safety, the trip from London to Beirut was just too short as I was enjoying every single moment. I travelled a few more times with the Queen, and today as the last one rolls off the line, it's kind of sad for me, but I still take comfort that the Queen will remain for a long time gracing our skies and airports, she definitely remains my most loved and most beautiful aircraft of all times.
Hi Sam. My history with 747 started back in 1978. Airline was back the Canadian CP air. It was my move to Canada,Toronto. After that KLM,Luhthansa,BA flights took me over the bond (Toronto-Helsinki-Helsinki-Toronto) for years. And yes.. 747 never had direct flights to Helsinki. Of all the planes I have flown I have to say 747,all types, have a place in my heart forever. PS. Not forgetting Concord. But that's another story. Love watching your videos Sam.
Besides all her glorious and majestic look, I count on her engineering design that worked beyond limits with exceptional Airmanship in the case of 'Northwest 85'
Salute to the mighty Queen of the Skies☁ 👍. Thank you Sam for bringing this to the common people like me; who's watching from a remote village in India🇮🇳.
I salute you Sam for this video. It gave me goose bums. My first flight on a 747 was a 500 seat charter plane from martinair holland. 1.55 hours from palma to amsterdam. I was thrilled and flew many times on this majestic plane. Big thank you.
Brought tears to my eyes. My last flight before retirement was flying an EVA Cargo B747-400F Singapore to Taipei. It was a bonus seeing the resurrection of the EVA Cargo aircraft from the graveyard. I saw the arrival of the first B747 at LHR January 1970 while taxing out on a B707 pax flight to Singapore. At the time I could only dream of many years later seeing much of the world from the light deck of the B747 I flew a lot of Boeings but none compared to the Queen of the Skies. Thank you Sam.
I should have known you were going to be there when you flew into NYC. But really glad that you were able to send the final queen off. I teared up watching this story. Then to have John Travolta there that was amazing. Keep up the great work. Have you ever had the opportunity to fly one of these majestic planes? Keep up the great work!
No other plane has made more of an impact on the way we travel than the 747. Even though the styling hasn't changed much she's still one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built. Thank you Joe Sutter and the Incredibles. Long live the "Queen of the Skies".
I haven't itself been on a Boeing 747, but still, I grew up in an era of 747.Its pretty sad that the era of quadjet production has ended. In fact, the Boeing 747-400 is my top favorite aircraft, and I would forever remember them even if they're gone. Because we all relate to the queen of the skies
Sam, thank you for the most complete and passionate coverage of the final 747 delivery, and all the history you lovingly shared with us. Fei Chang Gan Xie! For All; the quiz starts at 11:45. Ironically my 747 love affair began in July of 1999 on my first trip to China flying United's "Million Dollar Flight from Chicago O'Hare to Hong Kong. It was old-style business-class, no lie-flat but for my first flight since '92 it was amazing. That began my decade-long love affair with China as well. Over the next 17 years I flew more than 3-dozen, usually upper deck, transpacific 747 flights, less than 10% of your massive total. My last in 2016 was technically Eastbound from Newark to Hong Kong within 100 miles of the North pole a reroute necessitated by a 2-hour delay and unusual wind patterns, and we never actually flew over the Pacific. I also had an unusual event flying Sydney -LAX in Dec-2013. Shortly after takeoff the captain came on the PA and notified us that they had a warning light saying the nose gear wasn't fully retracted and we'd have to return to Sydney, however we needed to burn off the fuel to get down to acceptable landing weight and that took 2 hours. We landed uneventfully and proceeded normally the following day after receiving vouchers for our extra night. Always great memories.
I’ll never forget my first flight on the Pan Am 747. It was September 1989 and I was 7 years old. I remember walking up to the gate and seeing for the first time parked in front of the gate, and remember the feeling of awe at the sight of it. Over the years I’ve flown on the 747 a several more times and have always looked forward to those flights more than any other.
Thank you Sam for inspiring and helping me to create cool travel videos, it helped me boosting up my travel page to over 1k sub finally 😊😊✨✨ I wouldn't call this a "rise and fall" ... the Queen of the Skies reigned for over 60 years, that's an impressive amount of time with hundreds built! So it is quite the success story!
A beautiful, beautiful aircraft. After logging over 10,000 hours flying it, I can still say nothing comes close on pure pilot satisfaction sitting atop this beast. Live on Queen!
@@Paul-kw1og Yea, I want to get my license when I can. I play flight simulators and it never gets old watching planes land and go down the jet bridge.
Absolutely majestic… Tears are a profound effect from this clip… Memories for myself as a passenger and then being able to sit in a simulator in Montreal at Dorval Airport when I was a young boy with my neighbour who worked at Air Canada.. I so love the feeling of flight… Always a wonderful experience.. Thank you Sam for this wonderful tribute to the “Queen Of The Skies” ❤
Wow Sam, I should have known you would be there for the the last send off of the Queen of the Skies! The 747 is such a majestic aircraft that always draws attention when ever she arrives or departs. This is a bitter sweet ending to her history. Well done Sam! 👍👍👍✈✈✈
Sam being a Supreme Fan of the 747, I'd be surprised if he was not present for this momentous occasion. I agree with you Skynet 1 it was an exemplary presentation at Everett, the huge crowd, and Sam's brilliant summary covering key points of the 747 story, the guests, and recent events such as the revival of stored cargo aircraft.
Flew in a 747 from London to Los Angeles in 1973 when I was 8 yrs old. When we landed in LA the captain allowed myself and my 6 year old brother to sit in the cockpit (it was at the gate and engines were off). Unforgettable..
Amazing video Sam, thank you so much for sharing it. Fond memories of AC 747-400's landing at CYVR, and even the 747-200 back in the day once a week at CYYJ. That was a big airplane for YYJ in the 80's. Bitter-sweet send off for the majestic Queen, she will be with us for a long time yet and will always wear the crown. Long live the Queen.

Even when it was possible to smoke my cigarettes in the 1980th and 1990th. Together with A380 and Concorde the best this world ever has seen!
It’s a sad day for the industry and people as a whole. 😢
Fly high queen of the skies ✈️
Charlie Trippe, the grandson of Jaun Trippe, Phil Condit, the CEO under whom the 747 program took flight, and evern one of the original passengers on the first 747 flight on January 21, 1970. Sam, you'ver polished yourself into the best aviation vlogger. Cheers...
There’s still nothing like seeing a 747 either rotate for take off or setup for landing. You can rest assure she’s being watched, filmed and talked about somewhere around the world. ❤
No other aircraft like the 747.
Yeah like hmm m you think.we should have not run HV electrical wires thru the giant fuel tank or hope that cargo door will stay shut & guess they fixed the tail strike damage goodly
kina virus released to fk up the elections...millions dead, billion+ with heart/organ issues...evil know no bounds, 100% intentionally released...just to get one man out of office, one man they could not buy/control....Godless people will always create hell !!!

I've never flown in a 747, but is by far my absolutely favorite airplane of all.
Hi Kimi, Did you correct the spun
Have you gotten your drink yet, Kimi?
We shall all miss 747😢❤
Shall we?. Be quiet
@@clich126 and you,too.
I love the Boeing 747 I was on last flight from Cape Town to london British airways
The A380 stopped production before the 747
Don’t worry there’s always Airbus
For every aviation enthusiast, these are one of the things that can make you really emotional. For Boeing producing the 747 for 54 years is actually mind blowing, but it's so sad that lot's of airlines started retiring the queen of the skies. Amazing high quality video as always Sam!!
Fantastic video Sam. Great way to celebrate the legacy of the 747. Amazing aircraft that you never tire to see or fly. There will never be an aircraft as beautiful and graceful. Always feels safe, reliable and rock solid.
Boeing built her strong, with over-engineering behind just about all areas.
Boeing 747 is the most beautiful plane ever built and will not be repeated .
Enthusiast from🇸🇦🇸🇦
I flew in the upper deck of an Air France 747, in August 1990, from MRU to CDG. Most memorable flight for a variety of reasons. Great vid, TY Sam.
Mile high club?
It was inspiring to see all of the love and support for the 747 at the ceremony Tuesday, glad you could join us in Everett to see this beauty off.
The moment he said that the first ever 747 was involved in the Tenerife disaster. That hit me hard ngl.
My first airplane trip was on a 747-400 from dulles to Heathrow in 1998. I will be hooked forever.
I jump seated a take off in 1993 when I was 10 on a Canadian Airlines 737-200. Those days are sure gone ☹
My first time riding in a 747 was 1979. It was the first time I had flew in an airplane. I was around 7 years old. She is without a doubt the queen of the skies 👍
Just marvellous even if it brought mixed tears of sadness and joy to my eyes. Thank you all. Forever thankful -
There is nothing more elegant than a 747! One of man's greatest creations
Thanks for documenting this end of an era. You are a fantastic steward of aviation!
I was at this last delivery! Quite spectacular and very beautiful seeing the sendoff they gave it.
And it will grow stronger as time goes on.

I am also big fan of Boeing 747 ,watching from Nepal 🇳🇵
I saw this flight on flight radar and I’m thinking I bet Sam is going to see the last queen of the sky’s delivery flight.
It got to me, too. 😪
This video is epic! Thanks Sam for such an amazing moment in history!
Great airplanes, proud to have spent almost 35 years working for Boeing! ❤️🇺🇸
While I flew many times in the main cabin, I'll never forget the Lufthansa upper deck flight from IAD to Frankfurt. True classic!
I served overseas including in country in Vietnam in USN and will forever remember flying back to the States in the Queen of the Sky's. Long Live Boeing and the 747 a true American Icon.
I had the privilege to have been one of the British Airways B747 Cabin Crew and I loved the plane to my heartbeat! It will be missed dearly 🥲🥲🥲🥲
Well done Sam, thank you for marking the occasion as it should be marked.
Really enjoyed your presentation.
I remember watching the British Airways 747 land in Wales, but thank you for reminding me about it, I need to go and watch it again.

Yes. He's well plugged. If you understand hand symbolism you will know the team he represents on this Earth.
So sad to hear this is the last one... I better hurry and have my first experience on it before it totally retires!! Thanks Sam for all your incredible videos!
End of an fantastic era… Thank you Sam for making an amazing video!!
The purity of the shape is certainly impressive.
Such an exciting plane to fly on. This is a fitting tribute video for the Queen of the skies. A beautiful, graceful plane. Thanks for sharing.
You have the best job in the world, Sam. 💕 Those 747s really are 'so damned good-looking' and I have so many happy memories flying on her.
My First flight on 1st Class was on the 747. And I love it.
Hey Sam , I flew the 747 for Cathay Pacific for 10 years and logged 6700 hours. Every hour flying that airplane was like a dream come true.
Hi Joe did u ever fly with Captain Obed?

Brought tears to my eyes. My last flight before retirement was flying an EVA Cargo B747-400F Singapore to Taipei.
It was a bonus seeing the resurrection of the EVA Cargo aircraft from the graveyard.
I saw the arrival of the first B747 at LHR January 1970 while taxing out on a B707 pax flight to Singapore. At the time I could only dream of many years later seeing much of the world from the light deck of the B747
I flew a lot of Boeings but none compared to the Queen of the Skies.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! Thank you MR.TRIPPE and MR SUTTER, Great tribute vid.

The Queen of the skies will be in our hearts forever ♥️
I’ll never forget my first flight on the Pan Am 747. It was September 1989 and I was 7 years old. I remember walking up to the gate and seeing for the first time parked in front of the gate, and remember the feeling of awe at the sight of it. Over the years I’ve flown on the 747 a several more times and have always looked forward to those flights more than any other.
Thank you Sam for inspiring and helping me to create cool travel videos, it helped me boosting up my travel page to over 1k sub finally 😊😊✨✨
I wouldn't call this a "rise and fall" ... the Queen of the Skies reigned for over 60 years, that's an impressive amount of time with hundreds built! So it is quite the success story!

Brilliantly Done! I'm all choked up...747 Iconic Queen of the Skies...forever and always!
