He prepares alot differently now. Before, he used to come in freestyle and ready for any opponent, not really preparing specifically. It was ony until UFC 196, after the Nate Diaz loss that he started preparing correctly instead of coming into the fight with that freestyle approach fighting mentality, not really preparing for his opponent or anything specific for his opponent. Ever since then, he's cracked down on his jiu jitsu, his wrestling, his cardio, everything. We just dont see it because he prefers standing up. He's not bad on the ground. Its just that black belts will pretty much do that to anyone and cardio has alot to do with Jiu Jitsu also. If your tired, you might give up a valuable position that your opponent can capitalize on and trap you or submit you. Only people who train will know this. Anyone who doesnt train or who has never trained doesnt really count because they dont know what it feels like. Conor is improved and I beleive he can knock out an "out of retirement" GSP who we havent seen in a long time. I think GSP would have a hard time taking Conor down because Conor does hit hard, only ignorants think otherwise. He also has good takedown defence .He can strike out of range, which is perfect for the style of wrestlers, because they have to at least have a close enough distance to shoot on you or they will catch a shot. Dont let the Mayweather loss fool you on how he can perform. Conor couldnt do most of the things he probably wanted to do which would have won him the fight, but boxing has so many combat limitations. Watch when he comes back to the UFC.
