Speech therapist do work on all the pre_ linguistic skills including eye contact, receptive language for autistic as well as any kids with language delay. Do not give wrong information. It's not just speech that we do we also deal with language delay as well.

Your kid improved because of her. I appreciate that but not all the kids are same. A professional should assess the child in detail. Based on that only they should plan for a goal. The profession speech language pathology or speech language pathologist deals the individual with communication impairment through any modality that can be verbal or non verbal. If an individual can use verbal mode reinforce that or go for non verbal communication. Don't waste the child's valuable time. I know so many autistic children who doesn't communicate at their later ages also but the therapist still focussing on other skills and the parents doesn't realise it's consequences ends up in behavioral issues and poor quality of life. All the professional should do their part genuinely and respect the other professionals whoever it is. None of us are autherised to comment on any other professional unless and until they do have a clear evidence.

Speech language pathologists don't just work on articulation or stuttering.... there are wide range of conditions a speech language pathologist(SLP) deals with from reception of language to expression of language to voice to fluency to feeding and swallowing, and what not... SLPs don't just limit their knowledge to one or two areas they always cater to the need of their client... kindly update your knowledge regarding every profession before passing such scathing derogatory comments on youtube... its a platform to enrich peoples knowledge don't mislead them

SLPs, audiologists, psychologists, special educators, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietician, doctors, surgeons and nursing staff collaborate together bring progress in their client... also its ethical to be respectful towards other fields than being demeaning on a public platform...

Madam kindly update scope of practice of a Speech therapist! Who in the world told you that Speech Language Pathologist don't work on comprehension of language? Agar aapko apne special educators ke kaam ke bare mai comment karna hai toh kare. Kindly doosrre professionals ke bare mai apna khayal aise public platform mai na dale. Have you ever worked with a SLP?? IN AN INTEGRATED TEAM?? who told you that we are only good with articulation and stuttering. Agar aap google karate toh first off min 30 to 50 disorder mileage jo hum SLP's treat kar saktey hain. Jitne activities apne apke video mai bhi nai dale hai. Please gain knowledge before making such comments . 🙏

Speech language pathologist doesn't only work on stammering and articulation disorders, they also deals with cognitive understanding as well . You are absolutely wrong about SLP's , please don't spread wrong information to your viewers . This is really offensive.

Dear, you are really doing good job with your videos. Your videos may be helping many parents but i suggest that you should read, research and collect all require knowledge before speaking about the any profession. I suggest that you should read about the scope of practice of Speech-Language Pathology. For your imformation I want to convey you that language can be divided into two broad areas (i.e. comprehension and expression) and have five parameters. As a SLP, we work all the areas and parameters of language. We also work on speech, swallowing,vestibular and many other disorders.
So, I request you kindly dont mislead the general population as you have many viewers and unfortunately you are misleading them regarding the scope of practice of other professionals.

What if i say special educators can only make ur kids learn Alphabets and numbers that will be vry wrong just the way u said about SLP. Speech not only means just verbal talking it includes understanding processing and then responding and lot more. To work on a vast subject like speech and language pathology it takes 7 years of studying and lot of workexperience in different set up. It's ok mistakes happen due lack of awareness i respect u if u delete the part of the video where it's vry misleading regarding slp.

Dear Maninder, We respect the work you are doing, we believe that it will be helping child to learn new skills. But as a speech therapist myself I'm really hurt that you undermine our capacities and disrespect our profession. Please don't comment about others capacities if you have no idea of field. As for your knowledge speech therapist are trained to deal with kids with special needs to develop their speech and language skills. We As speech therapists, never undermined anybody's potential and professionalism and we believe others should also follow same.

If your intentions are right then please remove the part where you are saying that speech therapist are just for stammering and misarticulations. They can't see child with autism and all rubbish...
I am a parent and sharing this with my personal exp that my son never ever benefitted with any speech therapy we visited more than 5-6 places but their approach was not helping him anyways , Mostly kids on spectrum hardly enjoy play and speech therapist will use the same way but as switched to aba my son started repeating and came to one word within 15 days .. It’s not only mine but many parents story. So what she told is our personal mothers experience. She is totally correct. We parents feel that speech therapy only help speech delayed kids not kids on spectrum. Sometimes it may help but only to kids who are extremely on the milder side of spectrum.That’s why nowadays almost 80% speech therapist follow aba principles in their session as well.

Please don't mislead the parents and the others. This is highly not recommended. U may be a special educator and have knowledge on various aspects. However most of the strategies won't b applicable for all the children. Please don't mislead parent. Also commenting about other professionals role in ur videos is not a fair thing to do if u really don't know what they do.

I saw your recent video but I really feel and suggest you please do research and basic work before talking about scope of practice of any profession. From you recent video I can say you are not completely aware regarding the scope of practice of Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist. Kindly visit the RCI website, Indian Speech and Hearing Association website, and American speech and hearing association site.
I further want to convey you that comprehension (i.e. understanding) and expression both are the part of language and SLP do work on both aspects with all population across the ages and different pathologies.
SLPs do also play a major role in the rehabilitation of feeding & swallowing issues, voice disorders, supragastric belching, snoring and many others. SLPs deals with many disorders and cover spectrum of issues.
Hope you will start searrching more and will get educate yourself.

I'm a speech therapist myself. How can you make statements like speech therapist is required only for stammering. Have you really worked with a speech therapist???? Don't assume that we don't work on imitation skills.. we do much more than what you do and we are qualified to do it. Don't mislead parents depending on the little knowledge you have. You don't have to put down other professionals for your benefit. And you deleting the content cannot delete what parents have already heard. Very disappointed!

Hi Ayla...even my son didnt utter mamma or papa when he was 3..so one day i printed my big pic.. laminated it and showed him ...meanwhile singing to him “izyan says mamma ,izyan says mamma "..one day i just said..izyan says..(i was blank)...he himself uttered MAMMA for the first time ..and the moment was the most beautiful one in my life...so once he said MAMMA ..WE all started laughing and cheering and clapping saying wah wah...he got so exited he said it again to win our appreciation...

Everybody isn’t that blessed to have so much time to create a channel. If you are doing good with channel that’s good. But commenting on other’s profession isn’t good. You are showing the work on pre-linguistic skills, that’s really appreciated. But pre-linguistic skills and cognitive tasks are worked by SLPs as well. So it was not good in the authors part to comment on Speech language pathologist. We don’t simply study for 7yrs.
And if the owner really want to do good to people she wouldn’t have mislead people saying SLPs don’t work on understanding.
