Oh yeah, “Uneasy Rider” and don’t forget “Uneasy Rider ‘88”. You’ll have to listen to and enjoy that last one on yer own off camera, though, cuz if ever there was a song that’d get you banned, that’s it, hoss.
"The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is easily Charlie Daniels' most well known hit, because at the time of it's release, it was a huge crossover hit. I remember it being played on radio stations including Rock, Soul (aka, Urban), Country, and Gospel stations around the World.
I saw CDB do a concert at a random county fair many a year ago after the release of "Simple Man". He invited a young girl, about 10 or 11, who was the state champion violinist in her age category, up onstage with the band for this song. She doubtless was used to classical music, but she brought her A game. He let her play the first fiddle bridge, then called "my turn!" And played the second, and they did the third in unison. She must have practiced until her hands were about to fall off to mimic his technique and speed, but she nailed it, and her grin was ear to ear.
@@robertbunnell5932 Yeah, and sometimes it just doesn't matter where it gets played. The song "In America," for instance, is always edited these days; they cut out the phrase: "They can all go straight to hell." It's a subtle edit that goes unnoticed if you don't know the original. But what's the hell's so bad about using the word "hell"? Are we afraid ISIS is gonna get ticked off?
LOVE this reaction and tribute to the late Charlie Daniels. If you're interested, his song "Still in Saigon" is phenomenal. It pays tribute to those who are mentally scarred from their experiences in war (the Vietnam war specifically) after returning safely home.
LOVED THE REACTION AND THE RESPECT. Thank you again! Everybody loved Charlie. In Mt. Joilet, TN the town shut down and the Police escorted Charlie from the hospital to the funeral home. Beautiful YT clip.
I was born 1973 and I grew up with all kinds of music.. I love to see your reactions to great music you've never heard before with an open mind from the get go! I appreciate you letting me in your family!
I've been a Charlie Daniel's fan since I was a little kid (in my 30's now) and I love so many of his songs. One that stands out to me has always been "Still in Saigon". It's about a vet that comes home from Vietnam. Definitely one worth looking into.
You just listened to a legend. He was one of the best entertainers. He had a good heart and cared for people. He is missed today. Thank goodness we have his songs to listen to in the future. We'll always love you Charlie. Rest in peace.
I was blessed to hear Charlie and the Band in LA back in the 80s. Loudest darn concert I've ever been to but absolutely awesome. Those cats could play! RIP, Charlie; see you 'round the throne!
He could play that fiddle for sure! Love him he was a good Christian man and lived simply in his home town never leaving. Cotton Eyed Joe! You know country/ bluegrass are some the best musicians in the world.
I was lucky enough to meet Charlie Daniels at a meet and greet at a County Fair some years ago. Was able to speak with him for a few minutes, have my photo taken with him and an autograph. SUPER NICE, DOWN TO EARTH man. I am SO glad I was able to meet him. RIP Charlie, you will be missed by your fans too.

Charlie Daniels was a legend!! My husband is a hard rock fan thru and thru but you ask him who his favorite singer is and he’ll say Charlie Daniels every time! And this is his favorite song… truly iconic!!!
My cousin met him twice when Charlie played at an AFB in Germany and one in the States. Charlie remembered him at the 2nd meeting and asked my cousin about his dad (he autographed a hat for my cousin to give to him). This reaction was fire!
Rest in Peace Charlie! You just played one of my all-time favorite songs! I loved watching you and your boy in synch moving to the rhythm. Thank you for reacting to this song! Love you fam!!! 😍🥰
Primus did a cover of this with an animated (claymation) video. I've heard people say that this song was also on "Guitar Hero" or another similar type of video game. Many country music fans say that the difference between a violin & a fiddle is that a violin has strings, but a fiddle has STRANGS! Mr. Daniels doing a little bit of Southern rapping before the word "rap" was barely known to mainstream media.
