So great to see a crisp and clean version of this rare Dalis Car performance. I still can’t believe Mick Karn is gone, he was an inspiration since my teens
If you get the chance, get and read Mick’s book. I’ve just finished reading it. Very emotional at times. I almost forgot he had passed whilst reading it :(
It really is, considering the eastern influences in the music, which was basically all Mick. For those who complained about Mick's first solo album Titles, parts of Dali's Car may have had more of what they expected in some ways. Mick never made a bad solo album, just not always what people expected. Which, considering Mick's whole style, expectations should have been left at the door and just strap in for the ride. ;)
If anyone is looking to play the little organ/synth part, its F E C B A G# F E (Not totally sure, I just based it off what I saw Mick Karn playing in the clip around 1:00)
I'm really impressed with the drummer. I've never heard such an intricate drum rhythm before, maybe it's something Asian. Does anyone know the drummer's name and what he did after this?
Yep. My friend saw Bauhaus at Coachella in 2005. He said Peter Murphy walked on stage, paused, looked at all the mutants in crowd and said "This is not a rock show." Peter is not like us and I love it so much.
@@jaseinspace1 I suppose it adds some shine to whatever star he may have once had to be allowed to stand on a stage with real musicians! I'm sure he'll be remembered for … whatever it was! Sort of resembles this one guy that used to leech off of Daniel Ash's talents, now that I think about it - or that silly goose that ran around mugging in The Hunger, maybe?
@ I won’t deny that Ash was the heart of Bauhaus but PM was undoubtedly the face. They wouldn’t have shot to stardom without his charisma, vocal stylings or lyrical input.

Same.....I was gutted when I heard.
@@andy_sometimes so he never got to finish it then?
Loved this side project, Bauhaus meets Japan.
Also Gary numan

Hipnotic songs and hipnotic musics. Amazing
I already knew Mr. Karn was a beast but when Bruford praised him after he passed. That adds to his legend.
Incredible song
Love the whole performance thing of Peter slowly walking on to join the other guys
Le Rif de bass!! Excellent, vive le 80's!
RIP Mick Karn.
Yes, *Handsome* Mick Karn Requiescat in Pace.
that bass line, unmistakably mick.
But it's playback not live....
@@Sherar84it’s still him. He couldn’t play the bass lines because he needed to play the synth.
@@obscure_alternatives put another person that plays that, no? 😄

Paul Lawford. He was the drummer in Scars before this, who are excellent by the way.
@@timwilderspin Thanks for the info. I wonder if he's still drumming today. It was 39 years ago so maybe he's retired.
💗💓💞
Is this the gathering in Denver?
so I guess the bass was sampled it? Interesting that Karn chose to play synth and not bass here...
Peter Murphy was so hot! 😊 still love this song!!!
Is this a test?

3:40 Al Gore on keyboards
This was NOT on OGWT!
They must be influenced by Gary Numan.
What made Mick Karn to decide playing a keyboard instead of bass?
Probably the fear that playing that riff live woud reduce ones fingers and wrists to powder! 😂
