I was 8 years old when The Fugitive premiered. My siblings and I loved it, watched every week. Dad took me to a local discount store to buy gym shoes for school. There were some greaser dudes with their girlfriends hanging out in the lobby as we left the store. "C'mon, man, let's go. I gotta get home and watch The Fugitive", one said. I thought how cool, greasers watch what I like. Maybe that makes me cool, too! Well, no, I wasn't. Thanks for this first episode.

Back in the day when TV was made for FAMILIES, when the actors and actresses were SKILLED and took PRIDE in their Profession. The irony: Richard Kimble is innocent, proved guilty what Richard Kimble could not prove was that moments before discovering his murdered wife's body, he saw a one-armed man running from the vicinity of his home. With pipes like that, William Conrad was a busy voice talent at the time. Like "Route 66", this series did most of its filming on location. The final episode of the series had the highest rating of any TV show before it. Wrapping up the story in the final episode also killed its value as a syndicated series.

My dad really liked this show so we always watched it. I always felt sympathy for Richard Kimble, and in fact I often felt like him, being regularly accused of doing things I didn't do, and being ways that I wasn't at all. That situation persists to this day. I think that for a lot of us these feelings are what attracts us to this series.
