I was incredibly insulted by Hasbro's MSRP of $89.99 USD. There's no excuse for the trailer to be that large and elaborate, other than a flex by the designers. The trailers on Laser Optimus Prime/Earthrise were poorly scaled, yet it was within budget to be sold as Leader Classes ($54.99). Galvatron was actually part of the Kingdom wave with Rodimus and was re-issued to remove battle scars in the following set, Legacy. There's are some critical design flaws on the figure. The yellow spoiler is prone to paint chipping, especially if you slide it into the trailer too quickly. The trailer's tabs are prone to stress marks and some copies will either break off or won't even close. That's the quality control of modern figures these days. Other than those flaws, the figure is one of the best official releases for Rodimus Prime. It's just the sticker shock that kills any enthusiasm I would have seeing it on a bare retail shelf.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. That price was way too steep. As you say there are some critical design flaws but officially it’s the best we have gotten so far. I have no paint that’s come off yet thankfully but every time I transform him I am scared that it will.
