This is a PERFECT example of needing competition in the market place.
Customization? We really just want the sims 2 with the sims 4 graphics 😭 I don't care if you can even built the exact replica of the oval office interior when the gameplay is stale and the routing is buggy
@@aeoligarlic4024 Exactly. I don't have a creative bone in my body. So gameplay is where it matters to me. But it feels so...routine. Even when I try to change it up with personal scenarios that's more complex than whatever Maxis gives us. By the time my Sims are married and have kids, I'm bored. It's all been done by that point.
I just hope this doesn’t discourage the Paralives time. I really want them to keep going with it and not let a corporate dominate for another decade or two. I am desperate that they keep doing what they’re doing!
The current Sims team doesn't seem to have a clue and I don't expect good things from the new Project Rene (or Sims 5 as people are calling it). I expect it'll be a technical wonder for design and decorating... but be about as deep as piss on a plate as far as gameplay goes - much like Sims 4. Sims 2 was an awesome game and Sims 3 was a huge experiment that tried to expand outward to do new things. They should've expanded on that but instead, took 3 steps backward, polished the decor a bit, ripped out anything that resembled gameplay in favour of "hilarious" situations and called it a base game - well, at least in that they were right as it was a base game where about $2k in expansions, stuff packs, and game packs was launched from - all of which were sub-par and lacking. The only real saving grace are people like Carl and other modders that took the disaster that is the Sims 4 and tried to make it what it should've been. Sadly, for me, it's too late. I have lost all love and desire I had for the Sims franchise (having been a Simmer from the first iteration of the series). Paralives has a small chance to re-ignite the flame from the cooling embers but Sims 4 packs or Sims 5 is about as laughable as that ridiculous dance number.
Personally EA lost my respect when they stopped listening to us Sims players (seems to be a common theme with them for their games) and did their own thing. Also It seems to me that all EA cares about is their money grabs (adding very little content to try to make their games relevant). Anyone say Sims 4 Kits or that Star Wars pack (which no one I know wanted)? As I see it the only way that Sims 5 (whenever it comes out) might be any good is if they actually listen to what we gamers wanted out of all the previous SIMs games. But given their track record that'll be a miracle. Still one can hope.
That's because EA won't give them a proper and FULL quality assurance team. ALL this could have been avoided with full testing and quality assurance. Maxis games are so in depth, with so much hidden cause and effect to EVERYTHING, so their games need MORE quality assurance than most companies. Maxis games need a quality assurance team the size of a small country lol. As customers, we CAN sue EA for intentionally releasing faulty products (by that I mean little to no testing or QA purposely). Class action lawsuits against EA are the only thing that will make them listen.
The current sims team looks like people more concerned with getting likes on social media than developing decent games, most of the sims 1 team no longer work for maxis, remember makin magic, where they included things like rollercoasters and mini golf just because…. If makin magic was released now it’s be like 5 different packs

I got the sims 4 for free many years ago during a free event and this is absolutely the right move, there’s not enough in the base game to warrant the price for many (including myself) but people will inevitably be tempted by the packs once they’re hooked on the game. Thanks for your dedication, Carl, as soon as I saw there was an event I was waiting for your video breaking it down!
Hi Carl. I know it is a long way away but I really hope you make a Carl's Paralives Guide in the future. I have used your content (website mainly) so much for the sims. You helped me find stuff that I didn't even know existed (and helped my impatience when I kept getting the answers wrong to access secret areas). :D I will keep my fingers crossed and carry on watching. Thank you.
Ugh. So they make the base game free after realizing they can’t make more money off it to give people a lackluster product and get enticed to buy the packs? Only to be disappointed by the lack of depth, bugs, and utter frustration that is the Sims 4? Pass. I’m sticking with 2 and 3. Thank you, Carl, for a straightforward summary that isn’t clickbait about Sims 5! Appreciate your hard work with mods, too!
It's probably best to keep our expectations about babies and Sims 5 as low as possible. It all always sounds great on paper. But what comes out is usually something completely different. Especially with EA...
Thank you so much Carl for your creativity in your mods and I cannot forget your tutorial since I started playing the sims 4. Someone always told me look up carls guide and that’s exactly what I did. I am looking forward to your mods and having them in my game dine out, your Color wheel which I did see something similar in the live stream early this morning.
I doubt they'll ever change in the gaming aspect. It's always the interior design features that gets pushed on. If they want to fix the gaming experience they'll take notes from the sims 2, but here they are copying paralives.
I am really looking forward to babies in the sims 4 and I do hope they do more than crawl. You may forget The Sims Freeplay but I play that as well it is a very restrictive game on mobile or iPad you cannot cheat so too bad so sad. But the one thing is babies you can change them, walk them and they can walk along furniture they can play a xylophone for 3 hours. They play with blocks, you can put them in a high chair feed them or if you want they can make a mess, they can go into a walker, you can bounce them on the bed, put it this way there are a few interactions you can do with your sim. Different clothes, different skin colors, well I hope you do read this but I know people prefer to bypass the sims Freeplay. Building may be ok but at least you don’t have to think howto do the roof it’s already done for you when you finish your build. It’s a expensive game.
Shame this channel ended with you basically asking money for a mod, real sour taste, that. Would've loved to see more Sims News and stuff about new expansions.
Well atleast is free i supposed, but only the base game i guess, still i will pirate all the expansions nonetheless, i'm not willing to pay like 1000+ dollars, just for a game that may end up being boring (which i know it is already)
The only thing that's keeping me connected to TS4 are people like you, Carl, you show much more love and common sense than EA, you and the modders are the ones keeping this alive, I scarcely play it now and most of those times it's TS2 or TS3, TS4 has become a cash-grab, which is a pity, seeing they're eyeing Paralives like this is giving me hopes (that I'm reluctant to have) for Paralives more than TS.
Saw the customization thing and immediately thought of your color picker! Mods are the only reason I touch a Sims game these days. EA should just flat-out pay you, but in lieu of that, I'm continuing to spend my money on Patreon instead of their latest EP.
Good to see you again Carl Edit: songs that played through out the stream including the one they performed are all on the sims radio. Yall should listen to those. It makes my playthrough even better
@@rebelflour2521 Yeah. It's a shame too, since I generally like watching his thoughts on new expansions. Hopefully he'll come back to cover things like Paralives or Life by You when those release.
Negative, but its fair this franchise is horrible nowadays. But no, carl is perfectly fine, infact he's still actively posting in his twitter about the mod he's making.
It is great to hear you will be on Overwolf. I love using mods and love playing the Sims 4 - modders like you help make the Sims 4 a fun game with improved gameplay. I wish I could support mod creators on Patreon. I did up until last year, but I have become unable to work through ill health and need to save every penny I can. I've aquired a lot of Sims pack over the years (before my current financial situation) so I want to make the best of what I already have. So I'm happy that Overwolf will be providing some compensation to all the mod authors and will give me a place to easily find and download great mods.
Good summary. Also, I had no idea you had fixed dine out. I shall go search for your mod right now. Thanks for the work you do, man. I don't see anyone else mention this in their stream summary videos, so I'll plop this here: *They did show faeries twice in the stream*, and is a lot different than "SpinningPlumbob's" Fairies vs Witch mod, so I guess thats one expansion confirmed.
So...if we're sticking with the Sims 4 and they going to free the babies...can we also get a different teen model? Like something that represents a teen a bit more. That'd be nice. Although....I am super happy that babies will be more interesting at least.
Just make them a little small, and give them less "thiccness" it's kinda weird looking at a random sims on my neighbour, being the same attractive as an adult, and try to be flirting, and you can't because it's a teen, making you having integrity issues while having a clown face
Freeing babies takes not too many animations. I expect it to be pretty hollow as babies can't do much. Fair enough, right. But the only way we get a new teen model is if arms and legs are the same length.
There is a good mod on MTS that gives you shorter teens that works okay. Main issue is that upon install it only works for newly aged up teens, not existing ones. You have to take all the existing teens into CAS and swap their gender back and forth. Including new teens from gallery or in a new game/save file. Not really worth the manual effort, but after a generation of play it’s nice to have.
Just wanted you to know i appreciate your videos, and have for awhile. Plus your voice reminds me of a friend of mine's as well. (he's from Chicago) and is also a vidya aficionado (Planet coaster ) thanks for guiding us through the shitshow the the sims 4 ended up being.
thanks Carl, you are the best as always, i like your voice and your honest opinion. I won't invest another penny in kitts or packs in Sims 4. As excited and curious as I was each time, disappointment came shortly after.
If one of the new expansion packs adds cars into the game I could honestly play sims 4 for the next 3 or 4 years but if not I pray sims 5 comes out next year with cars included it made the game so much more realistic ! , I loved driving my Sims families about ❤
So far I noticed a new world being San Fran. Babies can be on parents back. Children can ride bikes (took too long for that) Dentures is hilarious and memories! Don’t see double sink vanities…. those chairs look like the same stuff we’ve got Sucks.
Hey Carl! I will admit that I'm not a Sims 4 lover. I bought the base game shortly after it was released and immediately didn't like it. I also didn't like TES 3 because I couldn't control my neighborhood like TES 2. In reading the forums, I was finally convinced to use a mod that let me play TES 3 rotationally and that sold me. In one weekend around 2015, I bought all TES 3 content and installed it all at once. It's become my favorite TES game and the only one I play. The reason I am commenting on this year old video is that I wanted to thank you for your TES 3 website. I have used it extensively since I fell in love with TES 3. I have tons of your pages bookmarked so if I'm trying something I need help with, off to your website I go. I'm sure the TES 4 lovers love your UA-cam channel as your information is stellar! I'd say with 167k subscribers and counting, you must be doing something right! I'll subscribe as a thank you for the website and all you do for the TES community!
I know this is a longshot, also considering this channel is dead, but I'm looking for a way to activate hidden aspirations on my Sims. I'm talking about the tutorial ones, the positivity challenge one, and others I might not know about. I've been scouring a little, but I haven't seen any documentation pointing to the existence of cheats letting us just equip aspirations. That's what I'm looking for. No, Reddit hasn't been helpful.
Not sure why people are "unsure" of Curseforge Overwolf, WoW has been using them for how long? It is so simple to use for finding, downloading and updating your addons.
You are the best! I cannot play Sims now since they force me to play in the legacy edition, even though my computer is 100% 64 bits. So it's making go through problems. I'm trying to fix it. The Sims dine out mods seem great! I always enjoy your input of how the game is evolving.
I just downloaded the dine out fix 3.0. That's the only part of this video I genuinely cared about. Because unless Jesus speaks to me I'm not buying anything from ea until they get their ish together
Sims base game being free is, i believe, a good decision imo. however literally almost everyone who even watched the stream are already Sims "fans" who already bought the game so tbh, the "best" news of that stream is basically irrelevant
Carl I missed you I thought you went back to your blog after all the mediocre Sims announcements, but it turns out you're out here fixing the unfixable Dine Out. Plus with the babies being released from the cribs next year, I'm going to miss all the memes about them being objects.
This sums up my thoughts pretty much exactly. It was so annoying how they hyped it up as an event, but then had no interaction with the audience and hardly told us anything we didn't already know. The baby update info would have fit in less than a tweet, and so could the project Renee info. I still don't understand the dance number.
I’m in shock that people are hyped for sims 5. It’s like we were all angry and demanding better and then the sims realease and new thing and it’s like nothing they ever did before that mattered and the team will never be held accounted for
I feel the same way. For me, the hype is also moving a bit too fast. EA/Maxis will have to prove themselves to me again first. The same goes for the thing with the babies in Sims 4. We know practically nothing yet. In any case, I don't really have any faith in it yet...
Slight update....it looks like the babies are going to be an additional life stage rather than replacing the object babies. Makes sense given that taking the object babies away would massively compromise gameplay in "Nifty Knitting" and possibly "Get to Work". I guess the object babies can be considered "new born" and we finally get to do more with a Sims early years. Totally agree that outside of Young Adults the other life stages are BORING (though honestly I prefer the creative freedom elders have from previous games). As for "Project Rene" I don't really have much to say and like Paralives I'm not passing any judgement until I see how either game actually plays. I'm a bit baffled how "Project Rene" has "copied" Paralives when it's been openly acknowledged that Paralives is a love letter from the Sims franchise. To me both can coexist and I repeat WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW EITHER GAME WILL ACTUALLY PLAY!!
Everyone worried about Mobile, is over reacting in my opinion. Until something changes, it seems this is more of a streaming thing (think stadia.) rather than the game playing off the phone outright. This will definitely help in the game not being held back.
Now the game is free, WE can finally access the gallery XD... you know what I mean if you do what I do.... XD jokes aside, I guess they finally did it since they already established most of the DLC and probably focusing on that new game which I think only playable on PC and have access of those editing stuff on mobile, the base game of The sims 4 when released is around 10GB and now its around 19GB... I doubt most phone can handle that much
Sims 5 has to be a blend of Sims 3 and 4. Mainly open world. Worst thing is that when the game comes out it will be bare and they will spend 4 years just re introducing Sims 4/3 packs into 5 and charging 40$ for them.
im glad were getting updates babies I'm kinda glad also look like one expansion look like recreation of California it wired i being seeing alot California realated things lately maybe it sign that i might end up their someday

I have used your content (website mainly) so much for the sims. You helped me find stuff that I didn't even know existed (and helped my impatience when I kept getting the answers wrong to access secret areas). :D
I will keep my fingers crossed and carry on watching. Thank you.
So unfortunate the sims 5 isn’t happening soon
It's probably best to keep our expectations about babies and Sims 5 as low as possible. It all always sounds great on paper. But what comes out is usually something completely different. Especially with EA...
This is the best Summit breakdown video. Thank you, Carl.
Snap! Same name! 🤣🤣 ...and our (first) name is so rare... Had to double-take, thinking, "Hey! I didn't write that!"
I feel like they’ve learned that money is a thing required for development but not as important as love and player feedback
They won't make games like Sims 2 ever again. They have made the game too PC and dumbed down so as to not get into any trouble.
I come to Carl for real Sims News 🤣
Well, chances are I'm skipping getting the Sims 5 until its made completely free because everyone hates it and they need new cash cows.
My only take is that by making mods official, they have absolved themselves of EVER fixing things that free workers have mod fixed.
Saw the customization thing and immediately thought of your color picker! Mods are the only reason I touch a Sims game these days. EA should just flat-out pay you, but in lieu of that, I'm continuing to spend my money on Patreon instead of their latest EP.
I mean the overwolf thing is nice, but isnt it just a Ducktape sponsored by community creators to fix their bullshit offical, so they dont have to?
Good to see you again Carl
Edit: songs that played through out the stream including the one they performed are all on the sims radio. Yall should listen to those. It makes my playthrough even better
Miss you!! Come back and let's us know what you think about the recent bs. The last packs high-school, the fake generations and the horses
I wonder if he's still doing videos or not. It's been ages since the last one, even though he's still active on Twitter.
@@voidoflight2420 I think he's done with this franchise. Prolly only does mods now
@@rebelflour2521 Yeah.
I miss your voice, Carl! THANK YOU for your video & ALL the hard work you have been doing!! =)
Carl! Where are you?
Hello Carl I hope all is well I don’t see you active on here or Patreon. ❤
Good summary. Also, I had no idea you had fixed dine out. I shall go search for your mod right now. Thanks for the work you do, man.
I don't see anyone else mention this in their stream summary videos, so I'll plop this here:
*They did show faeries twice in the stream*, and is a lot different than "SpinningPlumbob's" Fairies vs Witch mod, so I guess thats one expansion confirmed.
do you happen to know which section or the time stamps? I can't find them
@@angelxsiren0 Found it! 15:53 of the original summit video.

I'm so glad we're going to be able to put babies on the ground again.
This is the best synopsis on the entire internet 👏
Something told to look for this vid! miss you carl!
Carl! OMG! You fixed Dine Out for us! You are too awesome for this world. We don't deserve you! 😭
"Thousand bugs-worth of content"
I'm sad I had to pay for it but I'm glad it's free I haven't played it in a couple years
So glad you are in, Carl! I love what you are doing with your mods!
thanks Carl, you are the best as always, i like your voice and your honest opinion. I won't invest another penny in kitts or packs in Sims 4. As excited and curious as I was each time, disappointment came shortly after.
The fact that you are involved in the overwolf program gives me hope. Thanks Carl.
I am sooo happy you will be on Curse! I loved Curse for World of Warcraft, now I will be an add on fiend!
If one of the new expansion packs adds cars into the game I could honestly play sims 4 for the next 3 or 4 years but if not I pray sims 5 comes out next year with cars included it made the game so much more realistic ! , I loved driving my Sims families about ❤
3:30 - Oof... There goes my excitement for Wicked Whims... 🤣
Yes, I played that summit at 1.5x speed; thanks for the Dine Out fixer mod
So far I noticed a new world being San Fran. Babies can be on parents back. Children can ride bikes (took too long for that)
Dentures is hilarious
and memories!
Don’t see double sink vanities….
those chairs look like the same stuff we’ve got
Sucks.
So glad you're out there! You are doing awesome, thank you!
I've been missing carls commentary. I can't blame you for working on mods buy as a console player, it leaves us in the dust
I’m so happy that you are going to be included in the curse forge mod squad!
Welcome back!
I love how unhinged you sound in this vid. Me too Carl
I missed your voice, legend! thanks for the video, short sweet and to the point, just what I needed.
Thank you. I tried to watch the review, but they talked so much blabla that I prefered to wait for your summary.
Also, thank you for the bug fixes.
I just downloaded the dine out fix 3.0. That's the only part of this video I genuinely cared about. Because unless Jesus speaks to me I'm not buying anything from ea until they get their ish together
Karl thank you for the info . I’ve missed your guides and hearing voice your take on things .
I'm not buying Sims 5 until I hear your review of it when it comes out.
Is this guy still here? He hasn't updated in a while.
I bet he is busy with his modding-projects on patreon
Sims base game being free is, i believe, a good decision imo. however literally almost everyone who even watched the stream are already Sims "fans" who already bought the game so tbh, the "best" news of that stream is basically irrelevant
I wish there was a feature that lets you apply real life measurements to build a home more accurately. Like a simplified Revit with gameplay.
It's like a drug dealer giving you 1 free sample, then once you're hooked, BAM $900 DLC.
EA should be paying you to fix their game!
This was the ultimate "This could have been an email." (The live stream, not your video 😅 )
Ty for a short and to the point video Carl!
Hopefully when they do work on the new game, they won't release 40+ packs that cost up over $600 for stuff that should already be in the game. 👍
I think we both know that they don’t really give us what we want (and definitely not for 100% free) lmao
The thing i learned from this is that sims freeplay have way more content ? Lmao
Everyone worried about Mobile, is over reacting in my opinion. Until something changes, it seems this is more of a streaming thing (think stadia.) rather than the game playing off the phone outright. This will definitely help in the game not being held back.
Huh Stadia !😂
