i think he probably meant to. he was playing the beat off "run to the hills" by iron maiden a few seconds before that, and the people watching recognized that beat and cheered
And notice they're close together. Having your equipment closer helps A LOT with your speed and control. No matter how some "drummers" think it looks AWESOME to have your equipment so far away to reach out and look cool. It'll fuck you up when you least expect it... Believe me... Lol.
Your smack on the money with that one it is indeed "One" by metallica at 8:10 but no one seems to spot a shout out to Niko Mcbrain from Maiden, one of Jason's biggest influences at around 7:53 where he plays the intro for "Run To The Hills" Just a tip for all Drummers out there stop with all the aggro comments about eachother and arguments about whos better, its all personal opinion. Drummers stick together bro's!!
@Cboisen10 Inferno plays extremely fast, but all of his grooves are in sections of a pattern. Because he's going so fast instead of playing a tom as an accent note he plays a pattern in the same time that a jazz player would have just hit the tom. Does this make a fast drummer better? Not really, but it is more metal and a great display of technical speed.
he plays several parts from his old solos from the meinl videos and he plays iron maiden and metallica drum bits too!. Jason is a good drummer technically, but he doesn't seem to fulfill his potential, so his drum solos and drumming in shadows fall seems to be a bit stale. i realise some people might get pissed at this, but it is only my opinion, and please don't write back saying "you can't do any better you fuck" or some shit like that. anyway Merry christmas everyone.
i like his style , and hes one of my many influences , im stuck here in iraq without knowin any drummers here , im all alone , check out my vids and tell me what u think .. thnx a lot
These rock drummers are solid in what they do. They're just not very musical with the kit. Give him a 4 piece single pedal, then play! People like Buddy Rich and Joe Morello are true masters of the craft. You can argue this is just personal preference, but many great drummers will say the same thing. There are alot of drummers in that audience who can probably get up there and emulate most of that. Rock drumming takes less intellect, coordination, & limb independence than other styles.
bittner is an awesome drummer, and he clearly has his chops together, but this isn't a very good solo. His has amazing skill though, a really great drummer.
That was GREAT - Jason you got it dude
jason is definatlly my favorite metal drummer i like all of the different generas he covers in this solo and i didnt realise hees as fast as he is
Jason Bittner is an amazing drummer and artist.
Jason Bittner is a example of turning drumming into a sport.
JASON BITTNER I LOVE YOU!!!
The shared look by everybody in the room when he finishes the fill at 1:45 is so good lmao
i think he probably meant to. he was playing the beat off "run to the hills" by iron maiden a few seconds before that, and the people watching recognized that beat and cheered

I don't know if he meant to, but yeah that's the beat.
I agree...
He's about 23 now actually, and a fuckin virtuoso in his own right

I meant Tony Royster Junior. Bittner is about 37 or 38 to my knowledge
Fastest double bass...hmmm...I'm handing that title to Travis Smith of Trivium he was proclaimed "The Sickest feet in Metal" in a drum magazine
im a massive metal fan and i think shadows fall are o.k but jason is the balls!
shows were he gets his inflneces from ;)

Were not gonna take it??
at 49 seconds it sounds like fireball by deep purple
Are those 24" kicks?
They look a tad bit bigger than my 22's lol.
ANy one recognise the beats of twisted sister and ironm maiden between 7.45 and 8.00 ??!?
run to the hills just before 8
yeah...i think he was doing that on purpose. notice the people cheering when he started the "run to the hills" beat

chris adler plays on mapex
All that you said is generally true, but you have to be careful not to throw the baby (Roddy, Kollias, Jarzombek, Haake) out with the bathwater.
if your saying hes 23 years old you are 13 years off

i know! where's the groove?!
ah well i guess if i waited a little longer i would have heard it, but still i know what you mean.
i heard it, but kinda thought it was too obvious to point out.
Berzerker drummer yeah he is just fast but jason has more than that
But he shows that a good drummer needn't
depend on a great drumset. And also
Superstar Custom is a good Drumkit
meinl cymbals^^ xD
He can actually play One better than Lars :D
really????
joey jordison doesn't trigger....
and speed without technique means nothing
noooo, that wasnt fast...ive seen fast n that was not fast.....check out the drummer of The Berzerker
lol that kid aint 12 any more try like 19
bittner is an awesome drummer, and he clearly has his chops together, but this isn't a very good solo. His has amazing skill though, a really great drummer.
the sound is bad try to the solo of the drummer festival
what... ever ?
Metal drummers shouldn`t do solos, here is proof why
Jordison is not all that good, and the rev straight ups sucks. Peart is amazing.
very uninspiring, nothing too amazing...heard a lot about him but he doesnt impress me at all really.
this is just noise... real drummers are others!
i heard it, but kinda thought it was too obvious to point out.
