End of shows are always celebrations with PJ, one with the crowd. House lights on just jamming with the crowd. Whether it's Fuckin up, Baba O' Riley, Yellow Ledbetter, Indifference etc. Shows are 3 hours of awesome and are great from beginning and ending with a party They finish this show with Yellow Ledbetter, you can hear Mike going into it.
just re-watching this one 3 years later for the enjoyment. I really liked this one, and I know you did, too, DH. This was a really fun watch, both for the music performance and for your reaction. Thanks for this one.
I am so glad to see you loving F'n Up!!! For a long time all I wanted was Baba O'Riley or Rockin in the Free World to close a show. Then I caught my first F**kin' Up. Pearl Jam has always been a great live band. April 1994 is the pinnacle in some peoples minds. However, they have continued to grow and try and up their game. This performance is 28 years into their career, for crying out loud! I am so glad you love Stone's solos. I'm in that camp too. He didn't start taking the last solo in F**in' Up until 2006. That is the year he started taking a solo in RITFW as well. His style is so in the groove of the song. Keep up the good work!
Yeah. The tambourine gag is always the best. I’d love to see the budget for tambourines alone on these tours. He throws 5-10 out every time they play this. It’s great and hilarious.
Neil never cared much for what people thought - he played what he felt. Nice to know that one of my favorite bands, PJ, covered this song... only right as Neil is considered the Godfather of Grunge. They also collaborated with him on their album Mirror Ball.
Pearl jam love to end with a cover, this, rockin in the free world and baby Oreilly are common, often house lights on, lots of crowd interaction and fun:) Maybe yellow leadbetter still afterwards
A GREAT react video David!!! I'd say this is one of the Top 5 I've seen so far to date. THOUGH I am a little surprised you don't know this Neil Young song. :)
Awesome reaction again Dave...got a tambourine once but gave it to the little boy next to me. Mike and Eddie came and gave me a pick each. PJ never disappoints
HAHAHA David, I am currently writing a beginners manual for the starting and struggling guitar player... I do some videos AND HOW MANY times I had to do retakes by saying "Up the neck" when meaning DOWN IT! "Retake!" lol
Solid review.. yeah was waiting for you to say his name lol but it's a Neil Young cover. Both solos were very Neil young-like too. Yup, that's a typical PJ concert ender. Loved it 🤙
Hey Dave. Great reaction. I read your patreon update. For everything you have done for us fans I'm happy to donate the $240 to upgrade your patreon tier so you can post more videos for all of us to see. If you would let me do this please let me know how. Thanks again for all you do.
FEELIN' YOU JASON!!! Man I really appreciate that you would be willing to be so generous in support of the channel. Honestly I was thinking of a way to respectfully decline your offer when my wife came by. I showed her what you offered, and I told her I was going to decline....and she jumped on me and said "If you decline that, you'd be insulting him and all your supporters." So yeah I don't want to insult you, and I definitely don't want my wife mad at me. Happy Wife, Happy Life. I'll hit you up on Patreon and we can talk.
@@THEDavidHeretic I live on the east coast so depending on what time you try to reach me through patreon if I don't respond for a few hours don't think I wasn't sincere in my offer. It's just the time difference and I may be sleeping. Lol. As soon as I see it I will follow whatever instructions you leave me. Happy to help the channel any way that I can and can't wait to see the album review! Stay awesome and thanks again for all the entertainment you bring on your channel!
@@THEDavidHeretic Actually I just went on patreon and took care of it just now. Not sure if you get notified right away or not but I just put it through. Thanks again. Looking forward to many more great reactions, reviews and rants! Can't wait to see the pearl jam album!!
Dave check out patreon when you get a chance and let me know that you see everything has been handled. Looking forward to hopefully getting fo see the pearl jam reaction on patreon soon and any other great reactions you may have had to put on pause. Stay awesome
You're so right about Eddie throwing the tambourine out to an audience member. That's what makes Pearl Jam such a great band they actually truly care about their fans. And as a lifelong fan it is appreciated.
Ive seen eddie go through 10-20 tambourines in a night... its kind of a ritual during the last encore. I believe this is a neil young cover Sounded like yellow ledbetter was about to play. Eddie often says “goodnight” as the final song starts... there are a handful of closers pj finishes their shows with. Ledbetter will often times go into the star spangled banner (hendrix style rendition)... so even when he says “goodnight” theres a good 10-12 minutes more of music. Pj regularly play 3+ hour shows so this was pretty deep into the show. Any live performance you see from 1998 on will be matt cameron on drums. Jack irons didnt do that tour.
Eddie throws a couple of tambourines each show sometime just a few , sometimes a lot depending on how the show is going normally at the end , mike throws heaps of picks sometimes. Yes your learning...he he. This is there 5th drummer Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese, Jack Irons (former RHCP) and now Matt Cameron (former sound garden). shows are normally 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 (special occasions) hours. I guessed your score for once Ha Ha. In the future almost all songs you should see/listen live. The studio version is a bit slower.
If you're going to get a version for your playlist, the one from "Live on Two Legs", probably has the best audio. The ending on this one is extended compared to the other 1, the guitar solos are different, I personally think they're better, at least I feel them more. Mike uses some delay but I think he does it tastefully. I would check that 1 out, and would probably be easier to find. "Live on Two Legs" was an official release, should be able to get it on any music platform.
FWIW, I was going to actually request this actual exact performance after I found it the other week. Kudos to Felix Film for finding it and requesting it before I did! Also, Ed's crew have a whole pocket dimension full of tambourines! And those are indeed fans on the side of the stage. This is the 2nd-to-last song of the show, IIRC (Yellow Ledbetter closes) and PJ's been doing this for 30 dang years. Ed's got two daughters of his own, too, and I'm SURE he totally gets exactly what you're saying.
@@armandomilicevic2312 thank you I KNEW that didn't sound right BUT IT was also 4:23am for me and I was HALF awake. This woke me up by the end. Thanks for the correction, it's been bugging me ever since! lol

I feel foolish here... I DON'T think they ever did this one as a studio cut that I know of as a B-side.... It's on Between Two Legs the live album, and it's on some of the European CD's they did that like 30 disc release of concerts... I have 11 of those CD's lol
Neil Young cover. They’ve been doing this one forever and it’s always great fun to watch
Btw the girl on side stage in yellow is Ed's daughter

I am glad you get the pearl jam feel on this performance. This kind of animation is why their live show is addictive. Feeling you man...

Stop during the solo's all you want with Pearl Jam, I am sure we ALL have heard these solo's a MILLION PLUS times ourselves lol
Ed, Mike, Stone, Jeff são gigantes! Matt também é um grande cara. Eddie, melhor frontman desde 1991 até a atualidade!

I've mentioned Jeff's new bass rig in a previous video's comment, but you can see his "Low, Lower, Lowest" bass amp setup in this video.
It’s so cool when they have this one in the setlist. Great to feel Uncle Neil’s vibe in a gig.
You're so right about Eddie throwing the tambourine out to an audience member. That's what makes Pearl Jam such a great band they actually truly care about their fans. And as a lifelong fan it is appreciated.
One show, they brought a kid on stage and had him play their song “Sad” with them.
This is from the concert I wanted you to react to. The whole show is great.
“I’m seeing shades of the stones.. etc…”
Neil Young: WTF
Saw them play this in Buffalo and they killed it 🤟🏻

This is a Neil Young cover btw
Okay DH, good news! It's not a Pearl Jam original! It's a Neil Young song that PJ covers a bunch. :)

WORD brother! I LOVE this on Inbetween Two Legs :)
This ISN'T Pearl Jam's song, this is a Neil Young cover! It was on Between Two Legs live album as the encore song :)
