    Thank you, very helpful for this 70 year old gramma

      LOL, yeah as we get older we need to do more with less. That might mean getting a little grease on our hands. Had a lady change a starter on a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan that was about your age. I'm in my 60's so not to far behind ya Susan. Keep up on that maintenance. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    What a great time we live in. Back when I was a young man you just had to go out there and learn as you go, on your own. These days, just UA-cam it and it's handed to you on a silver platter. Yet we have the laziest civilization that's ever existed. Anyhow, great job. Time to get off my ass and change my alternator.

      Loved the comment and I agree 100%, only I had my dad a professional mechanic to help me learn quite a bit of the older cars in the 70's, then I had to learn as I went on the newer ECM/PCM computer controlled vehicles. However lately a lot of UA-cam channels are starting to focus on several of the skills needed to work with them. I hated them at 1st but with some simple skills and a little patients I've started to really like the ECM/PCM controlled vehicles ease of diagnosing faulty circuits and sensors. Thanks for the comment, Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

      Well atleast I’m learning and not sitting on my ass (I’m 17) with that being said I have no dad to teach me how to work on stuff or help me in any way so I just come to UA-cam to learn stuff my dad should have thought me.

    Also, great video. And people don't need to see you get the bar in, if you show them where to put it and what it looks like in, that's plenty info for a novice

      You'd be surprised the comments I say I'm not showing enough, and I show to much. So I just put it all in now and let the experienced guys fast fwd. I kid you not I had this one guy who wanted to do a CV Axle ask me how to jack up his Caravan and to install jacks and asked if I could send him a picture of what a jack stands he should buy. I said dude, the object of the video is to show people with experience what the job is like and for folks like you it's entertainment. I told him he needed to get someone who knows automotive mechanics to help him or he and others on the road could get hurt or killed. Thanks for the tip, I'll see what I can do in the future. Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm also Keith Dereck on Facebook, facebook.com/Keith.Noneya.On.YT, if you have any questions or need wiring diagrams for the 99-01 F350. Best Wishes & Blessings. What about changing the 2nd alternator

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  Рік тому +1

      Hi Adan sorry I only have a single Alternator Version of the truck. However it would probably go pretty much the same on the belt except when you put it back on follow the diagram for Dual Alternator. Wish I could be of more help. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

  • @A.C.71
    @A.C.71 8 місяців тому +1

    Can you change the hose to the dual alternator hose that goes behind the belt so you don't have to take the hose off in the future for a belt change?

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  8 місяців тому

      You can do that, however the main reason I believe they went away from that set up is for reliability. The problem is when the belt starts to go bad they start to shred. As the strands go around end up cutting the radiator hose. Then you end up changing both a belt and a hose. Normally this isn't to much of a problem but it you're in a remote are getting a hose may be an issue. I keep both under my back seat in case I blow either on my cross country trips. Hope that explains why Ford changed the style of hose set up. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  8 місяців тому

      @@A.C.71 You can get some aluminum flashing and wrap it around the belt and use some steel zip ties to anchor it. That might protect it in case the belt shreds. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

      @@keithnoneya Good idea. I do feel better about it as I thought back and I;ve never actually had a belt fray or break in 52 years so I like my odds kik plus if a need to take off the belt for any reason I no longer have to remove the upper hose.

      @keithnoneya  8 місяців тому

      @@A.C.71 I've had one shred and it took out my hood insulation, gerrrr. If you look at most vehicle hoods that have the insulation you may find it's all ripped up over the belt, shredded belt would be the cause.

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  Рік тому

      Hi Terry the Pulley bolt should be tight and the pulley with the belt off should easily turn. There should not be any rattling, but there may be a very slight play when you push or pull the pulley. I hope I answered that question for you. I plan in getting a performance 320 amp alternator. Nothing wrong with the one I have now but will it help as far as life or is more amps mostly for sound systems and lights and other add ons like engine upgrades? Do I really need it is what I’m asking lol

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  2 роки тому

      Glad you liked the video, It's a pretty straight forward job. I have a whole play list just for this truck and will be adding some more useful videos in the future, like rear wheel hubs, brakes etc. As far as the 320Amp Alternator, I can't thing of a reason to have that much power unless you're in construction and running inverters to run power tools and a super duper stereo at the same time, lol. Thanks for watching and the comments. Let me know if you need anything else bud. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

      I do plan on adding inverter and sound system lol. Thank you for the reply. I’m about to do a front shock swap out with fox reservoir shocks. Should be pretty simple. After that I’m doing a mishimoto intercooler package.
