The problem with Sri Lanka is the socialist model, which suppresses brilliant people to have any meritocratic success. Most people find jobs through recommendations and connections, any legal issue is settled with phone calls to people in higher positions... Cost of living is not the issue, rather it's the salaries being low and in this accepted idea from everyone that corruption is ok, because I have to feed the family etc... Sri Lanka won't change for good for a very long time(20+ years) also because there are too many pensioners and old people that would never want a system change, because they would lose all their pensions/benefits/favoured loans and political influence. After 2022, there was a three-fold increase in base costs. However, it is widely known that in Sri Lanka, workers in private shops and households are often treated unfairly, lacking basic rights such as fixed working hours (8 hours), paid sick leave, and salary increments. 1) There are more civil servants (1,400,000) and military personnel (320,000) than necessary. 2) No corruptly obtained property or money has been recovered. 3) All parties are interconnected and relatives. 4) In Sri Lanka, it is not right to separate/name schools based on religion. Why religion in education? That's where the difference/enmity starts. Nasty politicians come to power by using religion as their slogan.
How unfortunate is this!! Educated, young people like her are suffering because of the corrupt government and politicians who mismanaged the economy 😒what a shame!
