Lovely kiln unload, the beachy platters and the other platters are amazing 🤩 and I love the stroke and coat colourful mugs - I’ve got four colours of stroke and coat but I’ve not had good results so far 🤔 what a shame about the cracks and man te cup sure was an impressive crack 😮 I hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas 🎄🥰🤩
@laneyscraftingcreations431 thank you so much. What Stroke and Coats do you have? I had a lovely Christmas thank you. I hope yours was beautiful too xxx
Hey Jane, what a great idea sloping your shelves. The beach platters are gorgeous. Love the glaze chip platter. Stunning. Love the palm tree plate. Wow that crack is impressive. Ooooh I love the oval bowl. That’s my kinda peacock glazing. Subtle. Happy Holiday. I am loving getting to know you and I look forward to seeing what you create in 2025. ❤😊
I was so worried about those sloping shelves, but it worked without disaster, thank goodness! Lol, you and Nat both loved the extremely warped bowl. It has been an absolute privilege to get to know you over these last couple of months, I am so looking forward to getting to know you even more in 2025. Thank you for being here xxx
I want to be your neighbour! That Firebrick, Artic blue and Seaweed platter is stunning 💗It reminds me of an Impressionist painting. Have an awsome Christmas and looking forward to seeing your 2025 creations already xx
My neighbours loved their gift. I was very pleased with how it came out, I was worried that the glaze combo would obscure the texture, but it was perfect. Thank you for watching xx
Hi Jane ,from the south coast of the uk on a gloomy gray day . Thank you for your kiln openings , from an elderly potter who needs the help you all give .merry christmas x
Hi, thank you so much for being here. Are you new to pottery? If you have any questions please always feel free to ask, I am always happy to help however I can. Merry Christmas, I hope you have a beautiful day xxx
Oh Jane what a fabulous kiln!!! Please can I be your neighbour and recieve the charcuterie board and keep the platter...oh and have the sundowner ( so jealoua its wet and cold in the UK) those glazes on the flower platter were breathtaking! Smart move slanting your kiln shelves too. Nice work. Your chip plate turned out so neat! Loving the colours you got. Lol I do have some colours in individual pots but also a massove tub of mystery. I am obsessed but I do go rougue with the mystery lol. Wowza thats some crack! I wonder what the cause of that was? I love watching your videos and enjoyed seeing you blossom and become more comfortable in front of the camera. Youre work is beautiful and I agree the pottera community os pretty special and you dont feel like a lone potter working on your own. Fab to get excited with each other over the things non potters would wonder why? Looking forwards to seeing more next year, have a fabulous holiday and aee you soon ! ❤
I would love to have you as my neighbour! When are you moving to Australia??? :D. It actually ended up turning really freakin cold for our sundowners, we all had to go and dig out jumpers! It was ridiculous after the few previous 40 degree celsius days! Christmas day weather was lovely though, just perfect for sitting out on our back patio eating and drinking all day. I was so impressed with my glaze chip platter, I will be doing that combination again, in fact I would love a dinner set in it, not that I will ever get a chance to do myself a dinner set :'D That crack was nuts, I am thinking it just got too hot? But then all the other straw sippies on that same shelf were fine? That cracked one was probably closest to the elements though. I'm really not sure. So pleased I made extras so I still had what I needed for gifts. Thank you for your kind comments about my camera presence, I do feel like I am getting a lot more confident, I still say "um" a lot though, something for me to work on. I got a brand new flash little Sony vlogging camera for Christmas too, so I am excited to see what I can do with that. This pottery community is the absolute best, I really do feel so privileged to have become a part of it. I am so excited for 2025, for my channel, for my business, for my new pottery friends and generally for what life has in store for me. Much love to you and thank you so much for being here, you are so appreciated xxxx
Hi Jane, LOVE THE RUN! I am going to try that! The glaze chips turned out great. Ooooo....those S &C pieces are so nice. Thanks for sharing, Jane! Wishing you and yours a Happy Christmas!🎄
I was pretty pleased with my little innovation to get some run on my platters, I was however freaking out the whole time the kiln was going worried things were going to slide right into the walls of my kiln or something though 😅. The glaze chips came out even better then I had in my head, so I am so pleased with that one. And then there is my rainbow cups, always love the results I get from that. Happy holidays beautiful, I hope you have an absolutely awesome Christmas. Thank you so much for being here xxxxx
Love the platters, the touch of red in one of them reminded me of Turner and added so much interest. It's Christmas day and 24 degrees in Leschenault - what a relief from the last few days. Have a happy day and see you in the New Year. Jenny
I was very pleased with the platters and even that they survived with no cracks or warping. Yes, it was nice to have some relief from the heat yesterday. It was lovely here in Secret Harbour, just right for sitting out the back and enjoying the day. Best wishes for the new year. I am so excited for what I have planned for 2025. Thank you for watching xx
Hello and thanks for sharing the beautiful pieces all the platters are exquisite. So... let me tell you. I have many pairs of gloves. Long ones short ones, riggers gloves, gardening gloves. One can always use them. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year . Happy potting and take care 😊
Hi! I still have no idea where my other glove went. But I really want to find it, because those ones are my favourite! Goodness knows what I have done with it 😅. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas! Thank you for being here xxx
Wow 🤯 the platters are stunning ! You and I started our UA-cam channel same time , as an introvert it’s difficult being in front of the camera .. I’m slowly becoming more comfortable… can’t wait to see what you do in 2025 ! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from snowy Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Shawn, I actually just watched your snow walk video. So pretty! I am yet to feel snow, one day I will get to experience a white Christmas I hope though. It talk me months, well years really to talk myself into starting this UA-cam thing, but I am soooo pleased I did, I actually wish I started sooner now. Such a beautiful community, the UA-cam pottery community. I feel extremely fortunate to now be a part of it. I love watching your videos and thank you so much for watching mine. Happy Holidays! X
Lovely kiln unload Jane! That platter for your neighbour - wow! I’ve done firebrick and artic blue before, but never seaweed on top! Amazing!!!! Platters turned out well too! That crack! Woah! I’ve never seen one like that before! What a cracker, but what a bummer!!!!
My neighbours loved their platter, I gave it to them this afternoon when we went and had sundowners on their front lawn. I was so pleased with how it came out. Yes, that crack! Crazy! Never had one like that before. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas and I can't wait to keep getting to know you all into the new year. Thank you so much for being here xxx
It took me so long to work up the courage to start doing this UA-cam thing, years actually, but now I am here I am so pleased I took the plunge. This UA-cam pottery community is so beautiful, I feel so privileged to be a part of it. Jump in, give it a go, we will all support you. X Merry Christmas!
Great kiln load!! Love the idea of leaning the shelves to get movement! Did you use anything on the shelves under the big platters? They are all so perfectly flat!! I really like the peacock bowl being more subtle. Sorry your 2 pieces cracked. The mug looks like it was dunting. Maybe the clay just got too hot. ❤❤❤
Thank you! I was a bit worried about the slanting shelf thing, I am so pleased there was no disaster. I don't use anything under my platters, never have. I have had a couple of cracks before, but not that many really. I rarely get any major warping, but I think that is more to do with how I handle the slabs during the making. The Peacock bowl is not what I expected at all and the warping on that one definitely took me by surprise, but I think I liked the glaze too, not what I was aiming for, but I really didn't know what to expect. That crack was nuts, I guess it just got too hot? Funny that all the others on that same shelf survived though? So pleased I made extras so I still had what I needed for gifts. Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it xx
Merry Christmas! Maybe the cracks were from firing too high, looks like hotter than a 7 probably 😮 Were the straw cups just s&c on their own or over the studio white? Really pretty and summer rainbowy! Love the beachys too and the firebrick etc platter wow❤
That bottom shelf did get really hot! It was also a 40 degree Celsius day. My rainbow cups have the studio white on the inside, but on the outside I don't do a base glaze, just the S & C's and then 1 x Flux Blossom over the top of them, I find that keeps the colour a little more saturated. I was actually really surprised that the bright colours didn't burn out more when the kiln got that hot. I was very pleased with my platters. Thank you so much for watching xx
LOL! I'm happy to go with oval being the new round :D. Happy holidays to you too. I am so excited for what 2025 has in store for me and my little pottery business. Thank you for watching xx
Hey hunni!! Great idea leaning the shelves n yay beachie! Thanks for the shoutout. They look great. Oh the glaze chip platter is amazing!!! I wish!! Love the idea of a different colour behind the chips. Love the island platter. Oh wooowww that flower platter oh my gloriousness! Looks like mop! Sky is a bit darker than lagoon. I think that ornament was sky. Wow impressive crack! Wonder if the heat made them crack? I actually quite like the oval bowl lol. Merry Christmas gorgeous. Nat xx
@mudmagic407 Hi my beautiful friend! I was very pleased with all of the platters really and for them all to survive without cracks or warping was amazing, so I guess the warped to heck bowl and cracked cup were to be expected when everything else that could go wrong didn't 😀. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas and I am so excited to keep growing our friendship into 2025. Xxxxx Sorry Nat, somehow this reply ended up not going through as a reply to you and was just was randomly amongst all the comments. So I have copied and pasted it so you can see it was a response to you x
@Liseliselpottery 😄 a lot of people seem to like my warped bowl, funny because I just see it as a big fail 😅. That is the reason I never reglaze a piece just because I don't like it, there is always someone with totally different tastes who will love it. Thank you so much for being here and I hope you have a safe and joyous New Year x
Merry Christmas! Santa still hasn't quite made it here, I have some excited children who can't sleep 😅 Almost midnight, those children better fall asleep soon or Santa is going to fall asleep on the lounge 😅
I am thinking about popping some more brown into the trunks of the palm trees and trying a refire, but being such a large flat piece and I am not sure about it taking more heat. The beachy platters did come out lovely. Thank you so much for watching xx
Thank you. I think the main reason I avoid warping on my platters is because once I have textured and cut my slab of clay for the platters I don't move them at all until they are dry enough to pick up without any bending at all. Other then that, I do nothing special. Maybe I have just been lucky 😄
Hi Jane ,from the south coast of the uk on a gloomy gray day . Thank you for your kiln openings , from an elderly potter who needs the help you all give .merry christmas x

Merry Christmas! Thank you for being here xx
Love the first two beach platters and I’m a fan of the palm tree platter but I’d prefer brown trunks and sand, rather than the white
I am thinking about popping some more brown into the trunks of the palm trees and trying a refire, but being such a large flat piece and I am not sure about it taking more heat. The beachy platters did come out lovely.

I like the platter with palm tree island
I do too, but I would prefer a bit more colour in the tree trunks, I may try a reglaze and refire. Thank you so much for watching x
Perhaps someone will buy your 2024 tree ornaments for their tree in memory of someone they lost this year
Maybe. I will put them out at my markets and see what happens, but if not I guess they will be going on my tree next year 😊
merry Christmas from QLD!
My parents are here for Christmas from Queensland. Also was my home state for most of my life. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas x
