Chester's voice was everything for me. Sad to say though at this point in his career his best days were behind him. He still sounded good though.
Years of singing can do that to your voice.
Especially, for someone like Chester. To him, the emotional connection to a song was much more important than being the most precise & efficient as he can be with his vocal technique. There have been multiple live performances where Chester's voice wasn't in very good shape and still, he sang every song with overflowing dedication & passion, which is something many singers would avoid for the sake of preserving the longevity of their voice.
This is one of the main reasons for why I think Chester can be considered one of the greatest rock singers of all time. His emotional connection to each & every song that he sang was simply beautiful.
@@DebEternity absolutely. Even with proper technique eventually your voice won't last forever singing the way he did.
Sadly his voice wasn’t going to sound like that forever. And I’m not sure but his voice sounded so strained like there’s a rock in the back of his throat whenever he sang any one more light song.

Tbh he just needed some rest and working with his air flush. In 2015 he really lost his voice, you can see it in the Blizzcon show, he didn't even try the high notes, but after the rest in 2016, he recovered a bit. Sad to say he's gonna rest forever now. :(
