For anybody wanting to know how the vegan redstone (might) work:
The leaf blocks have a "distance" tag which is determined by how close they are to log blocks.
The observer notices when that changes

12:10 It's a mechanic that is used mainly in trees, every time the wood is moved into the leaves the game says "hey, this is a tree" and when you remove it, it says "hey, this is no longer a tree" and that gets registered by observers. As far as I can tell it's only used to tell leaves that are no longer part of a tree to start to decay, the weird part is the game can sometimes tell when the player has placed leaves and won't be removed until done manually. It's cool to see it when the random tick speed is set to 100 cause then you can then watch all the leaves begin to disappear as soon as you break the last log connected to it.
Each leaf block has a "distance" value that is used for leaf decaying and is basically the distance to the nearest log block. Placed leaves have another value that doesn't let them disappear but the distance value is still there

@@skymusic4917 The first video I uploaded features a custom built house with defense systems that utilizes a ton of redstone. Unfortunately, the inside of the house where all the redstone is isn't featured in the video because the video was meant to be made as a funny skit instead of a redstone tutorial. I would be willing to showcase how it works if people would be interested in seeing that. I appreciate your feedback though!

I've been watching your videos as of late and I'm very impressed Mumbo. I started messing around and created a 1 tick pulse that only takes up like 4 blocks of space. I built interconnecting ones so that I could create a door that stays open. I can lock the door through the use of another pair of 1 tick pulses. I was trying to setup the lock button to automatically closethe door before locking it. I'll figure that out soon enough.

Use observers. To go up or down make the last observer a piston and another one (up or down) to see the piston. In a chain of observers, the first observer sees you activate the button, turns on its red light, another observer sees the light and that is how the chain works.
This was great and super helpful, I am not a huge redstone genius like you, however I do enjoy watching these videos and leaning! Can’t wait to see more!
The redstone pulse (the geeky thing) is way easier to create @Mumbo Jumbo !
If you put the piston underneath the block powered by the repeater, the repeater will then power the piston beneath. The piston beneath will then instanly raise the block and cut the signal going through the block. This results to a pulse being formed and somehow the repeater still powers the piston so there will be no second pulse formed until you send in another signal. This is very useful.

The only thing weird about bedrock is that the devs decided to make pistons on a different tick system or something like that. (Im talking about the inconsistency when using 1 tick difference on sticky pistons pulling pistons, vs 2 tick where it works fine.
There are other weird things too, bedrock sucks lmao

The moment I saw the daylight sensor wireless redstone I incorporated it into my water elevator. No more "click-click-click-click" as the signal cascades down a series of Observers, blocks and Droppers. Just the click of a button and the sound of one piston. It's so much faster and was easily concealed in my build. I love it!

Private school = you pay fees, approx £10000 per annum.
Public school = ultra posh (like Eton, Charterhouse, etc.), you pay fees but I have no idea how much; it's probably ridiculously expensive.

Mumbo, would you consider making a series of videos that are sort of a redstone masterclass. Starting out with the very basic components of redstone. Then working its way up to showing circuits and then progresses to the uses of those circuits. Perhaps then even more advanced stuff. Not only would this help new players understand the mechanics it would allow aspiring redstone engineers to learn and progress their redstone techniques along the way. there is not really any series like this on UA-cam that i have found, I think that not only would it get tons of views it would help loads of people. Love your channel BTW.

You can send Redstone signals through the leaves because of the tree decay mechanic. Leaves that are within a 5x5 area of a log that is connected to it by other leaves will not decay, but if that log is removed, the decay cycle is started. This causes different updates in the code which the observer detects :) hope this was helpful
I actually used the leaf block mechanic before. I was designing a 7x7 seamless piston door, and to keep it compact, I needed a way to transfer a signal over the top row of pistons (in a 1x1 row) without powering them. Leaves were a good solution.

I’m currently working on a mansion/castle build in my world and decided it needed some redstone for the door. Worked on it literally for about an hour and it boggled my mind HEAVILY, but i managed to figure it out. I was in a really compact area (5x11, but the interior where the redstone needed to be was 3x5 and the door had to be a 2x3 door) and what i figured i could do to power the top pistons was by powering another sticky piston with a redstone block on it, powering the rest of the redtone up top thus powering the three pistons for the top half of the door. Not to mention, i managed to make it seemless too. Not hidden, but seemless. I’ve always been a builder but ever since i found you, Mumbo, I’ve been really interested in making redstone. Thank you for being an inspiration, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to troubleshoot it and would have stuck with the ugly 2x2 piston door i had instide that 2x3 area. Yuk.
Also...about 9:53...that comment about not pushing redstone blocks vertically....that was exactly what i did. Should that be a glitch or something?

So which version of Bedrock did you play before it was called Bedrock :P Also good choice switching to Java, while it may be limited by platform the features like the F3 menu, seeing chunk borders, and ability to set up local servers makes it so worth it
I used to play Mobile then Xbox 360 then Xbox one then Xbox one bedrock then I added in Mobile then I got a pc and played bedrock on that then I just bought java

That shulcker box gizmo is a really cool idea! I use them all the time and often find it tiring to fill them then swap and store by hand.

Everyone liked that
I like vegan redstone (or leafstone) for sending signals vertically. More compact than using redstone. Faster than observers and uses less quarts. And best of all it's cooler. Though using daylight sensors is also cool, longer ranged, and versatile so leafstone now has some competition in my builds. But if you're transporting a signal upwards over short ranges then it's still my favourite option.
I used it recently for my bamboo farm, takes the signal from the observers that see it grow to the pistons that break it
