A.I. will have its place in our future for sure but as far as art generators its seems relatively meh. I won't pay for or promote A.I. generated things based on the unethical way their algorithms were trained. I tried a couple generators early on using scans of my paintings but the novelty wore thin very quickly. Even though it was variations of my own art I still wouldn't call them my "art" because there was clear evidence the algorithm was regurgitating something scrubbed from the internet. In my scale of value A.I. generated art is scraping the bottom of the barrel. You are right though, its not going away. I also think A.I. art generators appeal to some people who put a lot of stock into "likes" and "follows" on social media. Their currency is attention and A.I. allows them to do this with minimal effort. I can't fault people for taking an easy path, but there is something to be said about the trials and tribulations of creating something out of nothing by your own hand. Will A.I. make things better? In some cases I think it will and in others the jury is still out.

And, lol, I’m a full on Libra, with Venus rising. I too, always weigh issues on several sides and believe that there is some merit or truth to most viewpoints. But there are also lines that have been crossed here. One artist told me that his AI images are far better than art, and that art is dead, and AI is the next wave. There is a massive onslaught against creators right now, and lots of people trying to jump on and take on the status that has belonged to artists by their hard work and skill. I am feeling the absolute unfairness to artists. I’m not afraid of AI, I just think it’s garbage as far as people using it and claiming it’s their art!!
Artists that are posting are doing something-they are informing their clients, friends and family and anyone that follows them. People are unaware of how the major AI companies trained their apps. I’m sad that you take the line of well you already agreed to let fb do whatever with your art…. No I did not, and how would you feel if they started making money from your artwork by using it in a way that you can’t do anything about? I’m aware that it’s been around for many years, my past bf was into it. It’s different when it violates copyrights. I’m on the side of respecting artists work and supporting their right to protest this as much as they need to be heard. Saying it does no good ? It informs people and lets them know information on a personal level, and realize that there are issues with it.
I understand that, 100% Of course, people should share their feelings on the matter but also do something bigger to fix the issue. As for FB if you use a platform and you agree to the terms and services it is really on you. The truth is FB could make money off your art or my art. Within the terms and services, once you post they can do whatever they want with it. You have given you rights away. It's sad and I don't agree that to use a platform they should treat anyone that way, but it is legally that way and there is nothing you or I can do about it. We agreed to the terms of service. This is not a stance or opinion, it is fact. It is a sad fact and hurts a lot of people before AI - but it's reality.
@@AuniaKahn Wow. I actually did not know they went that far...I had never researched it!! I should have! MY OWN BAD! I don't even know how they can get away with it, it is so broad and wrong, just plain wrong! It also seems extremely sneaky, as most people are not aware that is how it is! (as a Libra- I feel these injustices deeply...lol!) I am passionate about standing up in support of artists, and my emotions always get me swept up in it. The negative side is that people will attack it, and I quickly get overwhelmed as I do not enjoy or want conflict. In the Art Storefronts fb small wins page, many are using AI and claiming it is their work, so I am getting into lots of trouble by speaking out. The whole group is divided. I wanted another viewpoint, so thank you.
