That's the most budget old model, so you wouldn't be winning any races with it. You can spend up to ten times more for a good one. Then, the cost of running a season depends on how many races you do, how many crashes you have, and how much you're prepared to do yourself. Typically, the cost of a season would be about the same as the car itself. So, pick a number and double it.

Spending money on any VW, especially old Golf's, is probably the biggest waste that can be made. There is a saying over here in europe > "VW, steig aus und geh". >> VW, get out and walk. I drove a Passat years ago. As I switched to Citroen C5 Exclusive (I had my fears) I was more than impressed with the build quality, the driving quality, the interior and all the things you get for free while you have to pay for at VW and Audi. The C5 had his belt change at 240000km. The VW at 80000! The Cit never had any problem! Tyres, Breaks, Belt and one lamp had to be changed. That was it! Whereas the VW continuosely was a stedy guest in garages. Friends saw that and were more than happy as they changed to other brands. Idiotic brand!

Who needs F1 when there is this! Congrats for the win! I'd love to see better suspension setups, though: the vee-dub's is more than sketchy. I dig the low power and the lack of wings. It makes for more entertaining races.
Everyone is on the same equipment- “formula” racing. Sure, you start making “better” suspensions and the affordable factor goes away. If you want a bigger budget do formula fords. Formula Vee is pretty inexpensive on the scale of racing.

Very great racing and much respect given by all! Couple of comments and questions...I raced FV here in the USA(chicago region) some years ago. I see your cars run some kind of muffler...we had a 4 Tinto 1 header with a open collector tuned to a certain length..but more interesting is that the exhaust system was within the length of the transmission, meaning the cars have stout sturdy rear "shift protectors", really bumpers. And in the front under the fiberglass nose we have metal bracing(bumper). This means we can bump draft and do, like at tracks like Road America with three long straights....this race track would be ideal for that! Looks like your rules package prevents this. Also, we ran very stock front beams with external vertical shocks that were in the original stock VW mounting location. I dont know what you guys are running, like some lay down shock?
This is amazing to watch. No advertising, no annoying announcers, just pure skillful driving and the beautiful sounds of racing.

Yea formula vees have some great racing my dad and grandpa use to race them before he sold the cars. Sadly it’s a dying class 😞

I'm not familiar with these cars and at first I wasn't excited to see them race. However I must say that this was an exciting race and great win.
