    The last diagram which didn't fall out before associated shapes with numbers on the clock. The scetch above the clocks shows a four step sequence from smallest to largest; I guess in relation to the shapes giving you the order of the numbers. Can't say for certain with what I've seen.
    The last puzzle with the switches however: You just assumed the switches where numbered as they are drawn on the (simplified) circuit diagram, but they all have questionmarks, because you have to assign them correctly. As the diagram shows: when only S5 - S8 are pressed, the power goes to the lock. If the lamp closest to the battery in the diagram is supposed to correspond to the one on the left on the puzzle (and the rest following in order) then it lights up when only S1 is pressed. So you try them one by one until you find it. The second lamb should need S2 and S5, the third S3, S5 and S6; so you can single out S2 and so on. At the end you can press S5 - S8 to unlock it.
    In case the lamps are not in order, you can still differentiate them by how many switches they require.

      @Jake64676 2 місяці тому

      @@TheSwages24 the forked end of the balance goes into the clock and pushes the large clue piece out above also releasing the click hand which comes out a slot. You use the symbols and their weight on the clue piece and the diagram at the top to solve that lock. It’s a very fun part of the puzzle, it’s to bad he kinda lucked it out

      same! one of my favourite parts of watching Chris' videos is just seeing how different brains deal with the same problems... I think that's also why I love doing stuff like escape rooms with other people: it's so helpful to be able to shift perspectives and use the inherent irrational biases of multiple different brains for problem solving!

    It's always so interesting to see how differently people approach things like this. You can see Chris trying to figure out the mechanics and inner workings of the box, accidentally solving puzzles alongside. Whereas personally I am more into the puzzle itself. I guess that's why I buy video games instead of physical puzzles 😅

    I definitely agree the puzzle is phenomenal. I love Puzzle Potato's work. I would just say that it was a bit too complex, I don't feel like it was 4 out of 5, I needed at least slight hint for every step along the way. You really had good luck there, check their solution tips and you will see how many layers there are to it, I actually need to go back and revisit the button step because I didn't even get that one to be honest..

    What a fabulous puzzle box! This type of science-based puzzle is right up my alley, and while it was a little disappointing to not see the puzzles solved on the "dial" side of the box, what I really appreciate about your videos is that you don't shy away from the things that don't go right.
    It would be easy to shoot & edit these videos to give us a neat, clean solve but that's not what we're here for. We're here to see Chris solving the puzzle box, warts & all... because not only are you entertaining-as-hell & your enjoyment of these puzzles highly infectious, but you're honest about your experience.
    And that matters to both viewers _and_ the puzzle creators themselves. Puzzles are supposed to be a fun challenge, not a purchase you'll regret... and as odd as it sounds, seeing you brute-force, fluke or even miss a puzzle step that I can tell I'd enjoy solving the intended way just makes it more tempting for me to buy! 👍

    hey this is the valdo's puzzle box that GGG sent out for streamers playing path of exile! its cool to see where this came from. too bad you accidentally brute forced the time clock side. that was the most fun part to watch lol. looks like the clock hand was possibly not in the correct place so that it didn't fall out to prompt you in figuring out the clock side. Others that solved this puzzle had it randomly fall out of the puzzle when needed. the small piece that you weren't sure what it was for at the end was the sequence to turn the clock (just like a combination dial masterlock).

    • @jeremymcbride
      @jeremymcbride 17 днів тому

      Inside the clock is a pressure switch you push in with the scale to release the square pc that is inserted above the clock. That pc has a magnet on it that holds in the clock hand. With the square removed, the clock hand falls out the side. Once the hand is released, it becomes a dial that is used to unlock the clock in combination with the key on the square pc and the 6 unison blue switches. Chris just RANDOMLY happened to get the clock dials magneted into the correct orientation by shear luck.

    I really enjoy your videos. This time though I'm going to pause and wait to watch this one. I kickstarted this one, so my plan is to wait for mine. Then I'll put on this video on and solve it with you.

    You use the first tool and insert it past the clock to pop that flat piece out. Once that pops out it let's the clock arm fall out because it's held in by the magnet. Use those 2 pieces to solve the clock side of the puzzle which somehow was already in the correct orientation for you.

    Such a gorgeous puzzle! Not sure how you feel about video games, but there is a video game releasing on steam called the House of Tesla with puzzles geared towards Tesla! I find anything relating to Tesla fascinating as well, and figured it wouldn't hurt to share. Thanks for another awesome solve and have a wonderful day!

    That little diagram is for the clock and the dial comes out of the slot by the upper side. When the diagram pops out, the magnet on it won't hold the dial in place so you can get it out by the slot near it. The diagram gives a hint to familiar shapes you've encountered in previous parts ... Not gonna give too much away 😊
