I love this band so much.
Mike has explained this before. They aren't a Christian band. Just Christians in a band. They'll write about their connection to god from time to time but not all their songs are religious.
Am I the only one who was shocked to hear Mike curse after being a fan for so long?!
+Ricardo Nunez I was thinking the same thing. I mean Its hard to tell someone not to curse especially if they know better cause we've all cursed at some point and God knows we're all imperfect but for me I'd say its no excuse for me to swear or cuss but as far as everyone else the choice is on their own.

It's not that Christians are "judging" them for cussing or getting drunk.
It's just disappointing that their attitudes about drunkenness is not Christlike.
Drunkenness is actually a very serious sin and it's no surprise because of all of the death, hurt, pain, lust, stupidity, suicides, etc that happen to drunk people.
God loves us and loves them and as they claim to be His children, they need to do their best to encourage and edify others towards Christ and His love and His righteousness.
Nobody loves TDWP and their music more than me. I love their music and their talent, it's definitely God-given in my opinion.
And I hope they are truly Christians and my brothers in Christ and it's not all an act.
Because just as a person who calls themselves a buddhist is supposed to do what Buddha told them to do, a true Christian tries to do what Christ told us to.

YES!!! AMEN! FINALLY SOMEONE WHO I AGREE WITH! Drinking isn't a sin BEING DRUNK IS. Throwing back a few isn't bad. In fact, I've done it. It's disappointing when I hear christians like Mike who are open about their faith and even wrote a book about it and curse ON CAMERA. Its frustrating but I will always love TDWP.

Wouldn't it make sense that they would like the music they play? Many of them chose different genres as favorite.

It was a big deal for me to hear Mike swear mainly because in the seven years I've know the band, not once did I ever hear that from him. But its normal I guess, I mean shit I do it

There are a lot people who have different thoughts on swearing, I'm a christian and I have a lot of friends who are also christians, my best friend for example, he swears, but from his viewpoint on swearing, he personally thinks that its fine as long as you aren't using it to insult or bring someone down. Mike didn't really use it in the best way by insulting smaller time bands, but hey, people make mistakes, we aren't perfect.

This condemns those who drink for dependence, and those who commit evil deeds while drink. I'm pretty sure TDWP won't be doing anything really bad while drunk.
They are a Christian band not a straightedge band. Get over yourselves, they aren't perfect just like everyone else here.

Personally profanity is pointless and drinking till drunk is pointless... as it goes against biblical teachings not as pointless but as sin...
I could understand having a brew to chill but not till you lose your senses and forget what life is... That is like alcoholic or druggy talk... and i know that is not what this band is about, why preach it like its nothing, when it goes against what this band is trying to define....
