yung baby Lam Ang kapapanganak pa lang magaling na magsalita ng english!! THIS IS A MIRAKEL!! .....Intsik siguro si Lam malamang baka anak ni Atong Ang yan babaero Yun eh.
I learned this story when iwas in grade nine(2002) and i made this in our project in filipino called the covered book(if im not mistaken). Still i love this story until now. Thank you for uploading this video about biag ni lam ang in ilokano folks(if im not mistaken again) or buhay ni lam ang in tagalog...
Sana Ol after 9 months nang baby lumalakad na mag isa without his mother and fell in love with someone HAHAHAHAH Shana Ol charut... Jok Lang thnks I have answer in my module na Hehehe kahit di kapapaniwala ang story hahahaha
Anyway folk story.
And he's reason to go is to find his father but instead of finding his dad HAHAHAHHAA he just get married a woman named inis in age of 9 months HAHAHAHAH it's a merekel 😆
What's funny to me here is that Lam-ang is using an Igorot attire "Biag ni Lam-ang is supposed to be a PRE-COLONIAL epic story of the Ilocanos. But Looking at it with unbiased view actually tells a different story. Maybe some part or ideas in it has precolonial origins BUT a lot of it are obviously colonial. For example: - The father of Lam-ang is named DON JUAN which is obviously a hispanic name and title (or, is Don Juan even an Ilokano or actually a Spanish?) - The igorots were called igorots, which is also a colonial era invention. So the story itself are using the common Filipinos idea of what is an Igorot Which is a single ethnic group living in the mountains (which is NOT TRUE) . - Also in the story, Don Juan also went into the mountains where the igorots were living BUT large swathes of ilocos and La union were actually inhabited by Cordilleran tribes before the colonization, NOT ilocanos. So Don Juan has no need to go to the mountains. On the other hand, there is also a weird part and it is the name of Lam-ang himself. The name of the hero LAM-ANG for me is un-ilocano. What is the name of the one who supposedly put the story in writing? Pedro Bucaneg. His surname Bukaneg is not hispanic, it is an ilokano name just like Abay, Agbayani, Aglipay, Booc, Bulalayao, Bulanadi, etc. (Pedro Bukaneg is actually an ethnic itneg. Another minority tribe in northern Luzon just like the various tribes of igorots/cordillerans. He was a foundling raised by spanish friars in the ilocos region) Except for the name lam-ang, i didnt know any ilokano names with dash. Ilokano naming system do not use dash. But names with dash are common in some Igorot or Cordilleran tribe particularly the Kankana-ey of Mountain province like Sumeg-ang, Talig-an and Mang-oy. Cordillerans or igorots is not an ethnic group. It is only a name that was given to the people living in the Cordilleras just like Filipino are the people of the Philippines or Visayans are the people in Visayas region. I explained that here, Different ethnic groups/tribes in the Cordilleras were also enemies to each other in the pas just like ilokanos are in fear of some igorot ethnic group/tribes in the past. I didn’t know if the original, unhispanized or un-adulterated biag ni lam-ang is really a pure ilokano story. It is obvious that no one knows how the original , pre-hispanic story looks ( if it really existed and not actually a story made only during the colonial era to have an imaginary victory against a tribe they fear, inspired by the various punitive expeditions of the Spanish colonial government.). What I know is that different tribes/ethnic groups in the Philippine in the pre-colonial era are enemies or allies with each other including the different tribes of the Cordilleras. What ever they did or dreamt of doing to each other are not for Filipinos today to judge as right or wrong because it is a different time and especially that no one knows what are the igorots reasons (why they always attacked ilokano towns ) or the ilokano real stories."
