    Thank you for this! Exactly the video I was looking for! I started doing my own nails in quarantine and was blessed to find Structure Gel right away. In case it helps anyone else, here’s what I was doing wrong that you cleared up:
    - infill with the tinted gel looks easier- I’ve been having issues getting the clear gel on sidewalls
    - flash curing will help so much- the product does tend to run/flatten on me
    - basecoat! I have just been doing the gel after ph bond. It has worked pretty well, I think a basecoat will help more!
    - filing a second time after final cure- I was only filing before and sometimes my ballerinas would turn into a weird chopped almond 🥴
    Thank you again for the help!!

    IDK if you'll see this, but I appreciate your commenting on the "trouble" nail. I'm wondering if you have advice for shaping wonky nails. I'm talking where the nail plate is literally crooked. Crooked in the way the tip points, but also in the plane of the plate. I have several nails where the plate has a flatter and more shallow plane toward one sidewall and a deeper and more sloped plane toward the other. It almost looks like the nails are sliding off toward one side. Another way to describe it is, if you're looking at it head on, the c curve isn't a 'c'; it's more of a comma. Literally like this: "," And those nails grow crooked in terms of the direction they point. And the cuticles and finger tips are also asymmetrical. It's a big old hot mess. Anyway, any videos you can point me to or tips you have (no pun intended) for wonky nails would be greatly appreciated!

    What about applying the structure gel on top of a gel polish to get it to last longer I have strong nails but am a dental hygienist so I'm washing my hands like 50 times a day using hand sanitizer as well my polish gel or not does not last super long and I would like to do something at home to make it more structurally sound or would it only adhere to the polish and when the polish chips or peels would that just go w it hense not adding any length of time to my polish

      Have you tried using Harmony/Gelish’s pH prep, and Pro-bond primer before you apply gel polish basecoat? Using primer is usually unnecessary, and makes removal more difficult, but for healthcare workers and others who have lifting issues, primer can help gel polish last much better. Gel polish can be a very good reinforcement to grow out your nails. It’s the only way mine can grow.

    Did you try the potted structure? I want to try structure but can't decide between the potted and bottle.
    Do you know if there is any benefit or difference in using the potted other than color choice?
    I just did a gel manicure on myself for the first time last night and found I had an easier time using a paint brush than the bottle brush for the color but using the gel top coat bottle brush was fine.
    I have acrylic overlay on natural nails and want to get away from acrylic dips and overlay fumes. Can't take it anymore!
    So I'm hoping the structure and gel color works out for me.
    Any advice will be well received.
    Thanks in advance. 😎

    • @TonjaWatts
      @TonjaWatts  5 років тому +1

      FAB question! The biggest differences would be the brush and that the bottled structure gel is soak off. If you like the bottled formula better but prefer a gel brush, you could decant the product into a small pot so its easier to access. I'll add this to my video list and go more in depth. ☺

      I believe all the “Structure” gels, brush on, or in white pots, are soak-off. Gelish does have a line of hard gels, in black pots, which would need to be filed off. I’ve only used Structure in potted form, so I can only tell you how they’re labelled and advertised.

    • @sandrastreifel6452

      Make sure to remove any lifted hard gel, and leave a clean, rough surface for the Structure Gel, and it should be fine.

    Because you applied the gelish ProBond, does that mean that if need be, product now need to be filed off as apposed to soaking it off?
    Also, after filling the product, do you have to apply a base coat before polising.

    What type of bits did you use?

    • @TonjaWatts
      @TonjaWatts  5 років тому

      I dont know the exact names. But i use a coarse carbide to remove old product. and fine bits for the cuticle. one is like a cone shape but with a flat end. it helps remove the non-living tissue from the nail plate annnnnnd pushes back healthy tissue. and the round ball one exfoliates off any non living tissue. Both of those i use on low speed.

    What is the purpose of a slip layer?

    • @TonjaWatts
      @TonjaWatts  4 роки тому

      it allows the bigger bead of gel to move easily over the nail. gel is attracted to gel so the bigger bead will just follow the slip layer.
