Back to basics is always smart.
I have done exactly this numerous times. Same power kit along with a few others almost all done solo with exception of tvs this size. Perhaps I should've filmed and uploaded. Decent video and approved by an installer who does this work.
I absolutely would encourage you to make some videos showing others how to do this. It’s quite rewarding helping others learn how to do something they don’t know how to do, or didn’t think they were capable of doing themselves

Harbor freight has a very similar tv mount. I bought one a few weeks ago for my shop tv and it’s super solid. I just bought another one for our gym that I’m currently building. Good for up to 100” tv and I got it on sale for $38.
Nice! Harbor freight has some very affordable tools. I didn’t know they sold mounts as well.

The most terrifying part of hanging my 85" was letting go and trusting the wall mount.
Edit: LOVE the Echogear stuff. I used their cable management and tv mount. Their directions are simple, plain English.
I didn’t have any anxiety. I knew that mount wasn’t going anywhere as well built as it is.

I haven’t done any calibration but so far it looks great and fits really nice in our space because we have such a large wall and 12 foot ceilings

It’s fantastic from the build quality to it’s versatility.
When you mount the wall bracket, the template has a catch to collect the debris and it is nice but when you drill the holes for the cable management, all of the debris falls to the floor anyway 😊
Yes it’s a nice thought and it does catch some debris but you will still need to clean up afterwards.

Great vid. I'll be interested to see what the final setup will be. I am also really interested to see a review on the TV itself. Looking for an 80+" tv for my room. I see it's not an OLED so curious how it performs.

I'm running their first ULED 55" H9F for about 2 years now. I have since ditched the Android TV since i had issues with it but I use a Roku and a custom built PC, picture is amazing.
So great to see you buy and install the new big TV though the TV mount is a little bit expensive to me and the fantastic accessory.
I just had one TCL 85 from China to replace my Sharp 60 used for years last month..... cheers and Merry Xmas !
When I reached out to Kanto, I told them I wanted a versatile mount that could handle almost any TV so they sent me their most robust and versatile one which is also the most expensive. They sell much less expensive mounts, you just need to figure out what features you need.

Excellent setup, but wondering if the tv is a little high based on the height of the viewer when seated.
How’s the TV working out. Considering one for my dedicated theatre, do you think it would work ok? A projector would be nice, but my room isn’t that big and a TV would cost a fair bit less than a projector and screen.
I’m really enjoying it and I haven’t even tried to calibrate it yet. Black levels are much darker than I thought a non-OLED would have color saturation is vibrant and the 85 inch fits really nice on our 25’ wall. We’ve been watching survivor as a family almost every night for a few hours. I’ll share full review a bit later.

I’m going to set up a 5.2 system in a series of videos, but will go back to a 2.0 for the living room system once the videos are complete. No need to try and replicate what I have in the theater room.
I used to mount all my TV's but not anymore. It's too much of a hassle and an extra expense. I'm fine with putting it on a table or center of some kind. I just like it better.
Nothing wrong with that but I love how clean it looks floating on the wall
@@Youthman yeah it does look great especially when you have all the cables and plug in the wall or hidden in the wall. Just not for me anymore.
I figure only have to do it once. I built it to where I can add any TV up to 100 inches without having to make any modifications.
@@Youthman hey Youthman, I want to go Ultra Short throw projector in the near future. Super easy to set up even more all thumbs like me? Easy to figure out? I've been looking at one that has Dolby Vision. Not exactly cheap but not too expensive.
To date my favorite ultra short though is the hisense L9G. The hardest thing is aligning the projector with the screen. Once you have that everything else is easy.
What made you go with the TV instead of a UST projector and screen? Looks like minimal light. Just curious.
im guessing its mostly for simplicity's sake lol, just easy to operate and budget 4k TVs these days are fantastic compared to what they used to be

@@Youthman could have done a 100" ust. My wife will never let a TV in the livingroom again after our vividstorm floor lift 120" screen. No TV/ big TV/ back to No TV. 🤣. Can't compete on the price for that 85" though. Thanks Brother!

I’m very pleased with it. We haven’t had a TV in 15 years and I’m not a videophile. But colors are vibrant, it’s bright and blacks are quite nice (although definitely not OLED black). UI is easy and I really like the voice control.

I haven’t. I asked my friend Brad from Home Theater Gamer what DSE was since Google provided a pretty nasty urban dictionary of what DSE was lol
@@Youthman I'd really love your feedback after you do your grey screen white screen tests. There is another video that does red blue and green screen tests. I recently made a reddit post about my results and sadly my TV is going back to best buy for a replacement. Hopefully the new 85" u7h isn't as bad
Don't think that's Mini-LED? Good TV, I have a similar one, but if i was going big I guess I would try to wait for a MiniLed or an OLED.....
Ok didn't realize it for YT himself, guess the TV isn't that important with a dedicated theater in the other room.

Floor to the bottom of the TV is 43 1/4”. You will need to figure out how many inches you want your TV above your cabinet. My cabinet is likely taller than yours so do not go by my measurements.
IMO, the hardest part is figuring out where to drill your holes to get the right height. I had a friend help who is good with measurements.

Since i got my OLED screens I don't think I will ever go back to regular LED tv
Not sure OLED would be a good fit in my room due to a ton of ambient light in our home.
@@Youthman I never had an issue with my tvs in the room with 3 large windows. Oled set to 80% and brightness at 50%. (I have a 65" older LG model and a 48" newer LG.)
I've disposed of 2 high end Hisense tvs in less than 5 yrs. Customer service leaves much 2 be desired. Hope they only LOANED that model 2 you.
You skipped too many actual work details. I am here to watch it happen, not to see how it looks AFTER it's done.
This video is not a step-by-step tutorial on how to install a TV.

This american thin type of walls looks so weak for holding the TV. I have a feeling that such a huge weight could make the wall to break and the TV will smash to the ground.
You’re not going to break studs. That’s literally what is holding up my house. Sheetrock is the thin “cover” that hides the interior structure (studs).
or you can get a brush plate run a audio quest tv power cable straight from tv thru wall and out to strip / surge . I definitely noticed a diff when i replaced my cord along with a conditioner for video
Do you noticed a difference in video quality replacing your power cable? Without doing blind test with fast switching, there’s too many bias that come into play to make your brain think it’s seeing a difference.
@@Youthman i lived in an apartment once and i could see my neighbor in her kitchen thru my kitchen using her blender and i would get a line scrolling down my screen , i picked up a cheap at the time monster maybe $100 and it did in fact filter it out yes 100% , better to have it and not need it than the other way around , now I use a Furman 20 im not going any further than that picked up for 400 on eBay mint open box it was pristine i think it was new i scored on that its a $1500 unit has a capacitor bank in it , love it , and looks cool in my nice hot rack
Why in the hell are you going to so much trouble to mount such a large and heavy TV with such a heavy mount on a wall ?? That is extremely costly and high stress to the mounting screws and studs in the wall. Just simply place it on a stand...........
I want it to look nice and clean. Feel free to set your TV up how ever you want in your living room

@@markpippens6015 the weight of the TV is around 90 pounds and the weight of the mount is around 40 pounds. 130 pounds spread across two studs and 4 bolts driven at least an inch into the studs... it'll be fine. They can handle a lot more weight than that.
