Quick how to on removing your steering rack on your c7 corvette stingray grand sport or z06 or zr1. This video will help you remove the sway bar and get access to removing your steering rack so you can replace it or change it out or remove it so you can remove or install the engine.

thanks..i dont quite understand the reason for the measurement. it would seem to me that when it goes back in, it will only be able to go at the point where the steering shaft enters it. Then, the 2 large mounting bolts will locate it.. am i wrong? I understand the part that you do not want to turn the steering wheel to avoid breaking the clock spring.

With the steering rack i always measure just incase it gets pushed in and turns the part were your steering shaft slides on, if the rack is pushed in i was worried it could do a full rotation. In the end it was more of a fail safe than a necessity.
