- A brief review of my G&P Stoner 63. I think this is arguably the best AEG LMG on the airsoft market and for those of you looking for one, I hope you can get one before it's too late!

I've wanted one of these for literally a decade. I saw Redwolf had 2 in stock yesterday and jumped on it. this video makes me feel like I made the right decision.
You absolutely did! It's a wonderful platform to build off of!
@BryanHectic yeh but there definitely worth it
I have been runing my Stoner 63 for years now at milsim and cassual events and hands down its the best LMG right now. Easy to carry, easy to work on and a really nice handling. Those poor souls that carry M249 are always jealous of this thing.
I 100% agree. It's been one of my best guns I've ever owned! I love the looks, battery space, feeding, performance, ease of upgrading, all of it! It really doesn't have many downsides other than mine is the non railed version so it's rather naked lol
Airsoft Mike brought me here!
Wanted one since the stoner 63 is my dream gun. Bought the mk63a1 with the rails. Such a giant lemon. The cylinder head was the wrong dimension so the aoe was WAY off. Ate the piston within 10 minutes of trying it out. Nozzle was too short and just couldn't get good compression. The motor.... probably the loudest motor i've ever heard and got HOT really quickly . A g&p m140 in mine. So i got a new piston, cylinder head, adjustable nozzle, warhead brushless motor and mapleleaf bucking/nub, reshimmed it and now it works perfectly. Thank god i learned how to tech before i got this thing. It was such a pain. Now it's a monster on the field. A very expensive monster....
Wow! That's a shame yours was so problematic :( The only bad issue mine ever developed was some wear on the nozzle of the cylinder head that the air nozzle rides on. It just had terrible compression after that. But I dropped in some upgrades, along with a new cylinder head and it's all good now too! But yeah they're expensive and the parts you put in are pricey too lol
@@HappysAirsoft I already planned on upgrading the motor to get the best efficiency possible so i didn't mind that too much and the rest wasn't too expensive. Just a bit disappointing from such an expensive product. Can't complain about the externals though. It looks amazing and that's what was important to me. To have a stoner :P
@@iamzeusv2 yeah G&P motors can be decent but they are loud and they're power hungry for sure. I get what you mean though. I had a VFC 416 back in 2014 and the stupid tappet plate broke after like 2k rounds. It blew me away how crappy that part was in a $400ish dollar gun. But yeah the stoner externals are amazing!! And it's a nice platform to work with because it's got a V2 gearbox with only a few proprietary parts
Anybody know what the stock nozzle length is for the Stoner 63?
@@ShifTactical Pretty sure it was ~19.5mm. But it was too short on mine. I used an adjustable nozzle and set it to 20mm+. Not 100% sure what length. Get one of those and adjust it until the bbs can't freely drop in the hopup and then back it off until they can. That should give you the best possible airseal. Also, i HIGHLY recommend the hopup unit from bullcraft industries for it. It's much better than the stock one and it can take standard inner barrels.
I've bought mine with the tiny-picky rail and I can't wait to put a red dot on it ! BTW , the boxmag are cheaper in Canada
I wonder if I can import one from Canada then lol.
@@HappysAirsoft I highly doubt you can , the price is locked by country. Also I just check out and the price had double since I've checked it lol
I had one when they come out the reason i like them is cuse the feeding is gravity fed best feeding no issues like a&k and the fact is that is single shot as well defo the best lmg recommend them 100 percent
@jamesstewart-sb8gw they came back in stock in a limited quantity last year on redwolf and ehobbyasia and I picked a second one up lol. I'm so glad I did. Easily one of my most favorite airsoft guns. And yeah the feeding is absolutely fantastic on these vs A&K machine guns. Plus they don't fall apart over time like those ones do
@@HappysAirsoft yeh am uk there all sold out plus the price has went up to like 710 my first one was 510
@jamesstewart-sb8gw it's the same situation here in the United States too. They go for $700-1,000 used now. My original one I got on sale for $380, which was a phenomenal deal. The last one I got from ehobbyasia for around $730 after that pricey shipping fee lol
airsoft mike gave your channel a shout out!
Bro so cool! Thank you for the comment about this!
Anybody know what the stock nozzle length is for the Stoner 63? I can't seem to find reliable data around it. I bought a used one and the compression is all over the place and it had a 21.4mm nozzle
@ShifTactical I can't remember but I know it's different from M4 spec. If I ever go back into mine for repair, I'll tag you in here lol
It truly is an excellent length
I've owned lots of LMGs and had the opportunity to shoot/hold many more and this one is by far one of the most comfy and maneuverable
@@HappysAirsoft I really want a lmg just don’t have the money
@@MrHole-tr3gj yeah they have gotten crazy expensive over these past few years. An A&K M60 used to cost like $350. Now they're $540. I mean look at the price I paid for the stoner lol
@@HappysAirsoft maybe just put a drum mag on the m4 and call it a day
I got one several years ago when I played airsoft at uni, but never used it as never got a battery when I played at uni. Got a battery after I left uni but never checked to see if it fit the gun, but also haven’t wanted to get back into the sport till now, but I remember when I first got it I found it hard to open the battery cover, and just found that now when wanting to check if my battery fit.
How do you get the battery cover off, and what do you use for it?
You have to use an Allen wrench to unscrew 2 screws that keep it held on. They're tucked away into 2 small holes in the butt plate. Not sure on the size sadly
@@HappysAirsoft yeah, when I got the gun at uni, half my uni flat were MoD engineer students and I had to approach them to get the stock butt unscrewed and noted down that it was a 3mm Allen key, but I tried earlier with a small Allen key (not entirely sure the size as they didn’t say), but couldn’t get it open
@Toto Meister 01 3mm sounds just about right but yeah those screws are buried in there so you gotta wiggle ghe Allen wrench around until it hooks
@@HappysAirsoft ok. Thanks
@@HappysAirsoftso I found that my battery does fit, but then when I went to charge the battery I found that I had a LiPo/life charger and a 9.6v 1600 battery. What battery and charger do you use, and would it be better/easier to find a new battery or new charger?
Really considering buying this beast. Why does ASJ have it for $250 more than RW and EHA?
They're probably just trying to make some extra profit and they can get away with it since these are relatively rare nowadays
@@HappysAirsoft Well I bit the bullet and bought it. Already considering a 249 box mag mod. So I will likely sell my OEM box mag
@@offthex2519 nice!!! I hope you really like it! I think you will since it's such a solid and unique gun. How much would sell the original magazine for out of curiosity?
@@HappysAirsoft probably $180 so I can recoup some of the extra $$$ I put on the gun.
Hopefully that’s not too steep considering the low stock
@@offthex2519 that is a little on the steep side since they retail for around $110-120 but they all seem to be out of stock so I guess that's a fair Market adjustment then lol. I'd definitely hold onto that magazine until you can successfully convert it to accept M249 box mags
Damn! Where'd you get this piece?
I bought it 5 years ago from evike. They are pretty hard to find now
@@HappysAirsoft Lucky guy! Even harder to find in Czech republic. :)
It uses a JG p90 hop up
I own one and it is an amazing LMG
That's very good to know actually!
Anyone who wants to let theirs go please let me know lmao!!
