As a school boy in the 1960's, I loved riding on the upper deck of Midland Red buses to and from school in the winter.Double deckers have an unusually low centre of gravity as the top section is quite lightweight.The ride was lurching and squeaky with a general smell of stale cigarettes.The conductors would struggle to stay straight at times as they gave you your ticket and smelt of leather from their sachel and straps.
I did this trip every day for 5 years as a teenager. I’ve been away over 50 years now, but I recognise every inch 🧐 a lot of the businesses have changed but the layout is untouched. Enjoyed it thanks.

I lived in the Triangle Block 4/30, Edgbaston (5 minutes walk to the University of Birmingham), .. a nice dormitory. It was in 1985/86.

There is & will be over £5 billion worth of regeneration going into Birmingham over the next 15 years & with more Londoners choosing to relocate to Birmingham than any other city in the UK, for the last 4 years along with big players like HSBC UK & BBC Three choosing to move all, or part of their operations to Birmingham. Also Birmingham being the Host City for the Commonwealth Games 2022, we're well on track to becoming a world class City by 2026.

The title should be " Ride through Birmingham City Centre to Solihull Town Centre", Solihull has never been a City or will be, as a City has to have a cathedral which the Town of Solihull has not, it is a satellite town of the City of Birmingham
