Lora Staples has been my violin instructor since Feb. 2017. This lady teaches in a very detailed way. I have had other teachers due to circumstances beyond my control (e. my job got in the way, teachers moved away, or got gigs, etc.). These teachers were good but she is the top by far. She is the first violin teacher that will take you there...from classical to fiddle music... in seconds...lol. Just kidding...All the teachers I know can not do fiddle and classical music or the like to stick to a certain genre of techniques.
@@RedDesertViolin can I show you my one month progress! and how would I. Could you give me tips maybe? Ive been using suzuki 1 and lots of informative videos all on my own at home. Im autistic and advance in subjects i like while not doing so well in things i dont enjoy but i love the violin. Im 18 and enjoy how informative your videos are!
Thank you for posting this. I've been playing for a year now and this will be my first time replacing my strings. I ordered the Warchals and about had a heart attack when the E came out with a spring wound up in it! Glad to see I didn't make a newbie mistake.
thank you very much for this wonderful video which really helped me for my first time using Warchal ropes your video will remain brilliant in history ❤
I think the point of the ball vs loop is that the spiral is in a more appropriate place with the ball end for your tuner - it probably won't work as well with the loop because the tension is in the wrong place!
I’m very happy with my Warchal Amber violin strings. Better than the Thomastik Dominants I used for decades. And the Amber E string is excellent. Warm, resonant, and powerful. However, I don’t like the helical section of the E string extending over the fingerboard. I can feel the wavy undulations of the string when I’m playing in the stratospheric positions. It hinders me when I make those tiny adjustments or reaches with my fourth finger. I will continue to use Warchal Amber strings, but will use a conventional, straight, non-helical E string instead.
I love the Ambers. The bumpy E string never bothered me too much, but I haven't been doing much solo work that requires those high positions lately. Otherwise, I think it might be a bother. Right now, though, I am really loving what the Infeld Reds do to temper my bright instrument!
Looks to me that it they lost 5 turns on the coil in would stop just before the fingerboard. Since the coil is meant to help with bowed section of the string I can't see the point of it extending so far. It is a great idea though.
My violin came with Dominant strings and while I am content with the G, D and A strings I have never been happy with my E string. Though it never whistled or squeaked, it did simply sound too ?bright? for me ... downright ear piercing, actually. I saw your video and invested in a Warchal Amber E hoping for a sound more to my tastes and YES ... there is definitely a big improvement! Thanks for the review video Lora, appreciated. :)
This was my second E string, ever (I started with all Dominants--that E string had to go!!) and I was fairly happy with it. Mine was a ball end, and seemed to work just fine for my purpose of study. I've found that I prefer Pirastro Gold now, but Warchal is one I wouldn't mind using in the future, if I can't afford or get ahold of a Pirastro Gold E string. It indeed doesn't whistle, but the tone doesn't sound as resonant to my ear as PG does. It's all a matter of what you want to hear from your instrument, I guess. :)
How does it Sound with the Bow? It sounds better than some E "String "is often q Problem I switched to Viola some Months but then I heard Beautiful Romantic Pieces and switched back to Violin🤣🎶💖

Keep up the good work, D! Hope I get that video from you soon.

Yep! Glad it helped! They are beautiful strings. I wish they were more durable!
Many thanks.
i purchased an identical set, initially i thought they are defective.
I feel enlightened.
LOL.....yes it looks very weird. But nice sounding.
Looking forward to seeing how test #3 turns out.🤞🏻

You are very welcome!🤗
I got a russian A today. Its much thinner than most A strings. I like it .... easier to press. Sounds nice . First day
Such a winding can be easily done with each wire!

They sound kinda like Gut Strings so they might work on Baroque Violin.
really? Maybe. I'm not an expert in gut strings. But it's worth a shot!
@@loralynstaples5483 It's worth a shot to try Helicore Strings on the Baroque Violin because they sound like gut strings but they last longer

Maybe you are destined to play a 5-string....best of both worlds! (I know lots of violinists who are also awesome violists) Keep up the good work!
