Thanks for the info George. I didn't even know there was a dipstick for the manual transmission. I was under the impression it was a sealed system that you couldn't check. Maybe subaru is hoping to get some hefty repair jobs for failed transmissions lol.
Hi there. So I followed your video but I do not see the dip stick. Now I have a 2014 and there is something else in the way. It’s a round part that has the accordion affect look with about 4 hard tubings attached. Would it still be in that same area just maybe behind that part? I have looked everywhere and cannot find it. I don’t want to go pay a mechanic hundreds of dollars only to add trans fluid. Hope you see my comment and you respond. Thank you

same here
Great lighting and camera work. My 2014 dipstick gets hard to pull out so I rub a little oil on the O-ring before putting it back in.
After 3yrs finally I found the stick. Thanks mates
Should it be checked cold or hot
So question should you check it cold, hot, or should you cycle gears first?

Thanks my friend!
Thank you!
How often should I change transmission oil ? XV 2015
Can that brown plug be unplugged in any way. I have a heck of a time getting that dipstick in and out.
I checked mine says it's for differential not the transmission
I think the centre differential and manual transmission share the same fluid in this model?
Mother Russia!
