With that, it’s safe to assume the people on and operating the show are going to abide by American cultural norms. As such, as an American (Nigerian, black, white or otherwise) it is a safe bet to assume ain’t nobody extending a line of credit to somebody they don’t personally know. If she (Nneka) was standing on business she would’ve/should’ve/could’ve reached out to Dr. Wendy (woman to woman/ Igbo to Igbo) and ask her to be a character reference; in the same way anyone applying for a job would do. If she (Nneka) was standing on business she would’ve/should’ve/could’ve reached out to Dr. Wendy (woman to woman/ Igbo to Igbo) and ask her to be a character reference; in the same way anyone applying for a job would do.
However, she didn’t. She got hired and because her belief was that Dr. Wendy snubbed her, she indirectly attacked her character and contributed to an already hostile work environment.
