- City Walks: Wexford, Ireland walking tour
After a lunch at the pub, we walk through the downtown area of the city of Wexford, Ireland in County Wexford. We start out in the pedestrian zone near Centenary Stores pub and make our way along the main street, past fishing boats moored at the waterfront, past the train station, and up to the ruins of an old abbey. We are loving Ireland and haven't even been to Dublin yet. The country is incredibly friendly and beautiful. The rural rolling pastoral hills are stunning in early September.
Next up will be Dublin!
Married a Wexford girl in 1964 , best day of my life .Walked those streets so many times .Thank you for the video.
Such a long time since I was home. Thanks for the video. :)
Aww what a beautiful and relaxing walk , with a,cup of coffee and my big chair, after a hard day's work.
My late grandad Mathew meyler was from this beautiful town of Wexford ❤️
Remember going here in 1997 when I was 12, my mum at the time was camcording everything and we had our whole holiday on film & it got stolen. Remember these streets well. 🤝
Best town in Ireland 🟣🟡
Thanks for the tour. It's a great town and would recommend it to everyone! Such friendly folks. Can't wait to return one day soon.
Thanks for taking us along! The streets were so tiny! Loved that you showed us the inside of the boats as you walked by. I always try craning my neck to see (like that would do any good). Keep on stepping!
Wexford is a very great place to visit 💖
Thanks for this! I'm Brazilian and I was in Wexford last september. It was amazing to remember about the streets, the restaurants and the stores. I just kept thinking how I miss this town! Hope to be back someday. And great work on the video!
Amazing experience thanks for upload
So nice this walk, Thank You! Last time I visited Wexford was 1 year ago and I wish, next time will be soon.
I was thinking of going to Wexford one day I had no idea what it looked like but it seems great.
Thanks for this. Still deciding where to go from Dublin in August, away from the crowds.
The video ends at West Gate. The western gate into the walled town of Wexford. Built around 850AD, only small sections of the wall survive. Selskar Abbey is built within the walls and predates the reformation. Half of the land walked on during this video was reclaimed from the sea, so Selskar Abbey is located just yards from where the shore once was.
Wexford is looking good on this video.
Great town
Attractive town. How long did you stay? Did your impressions of the place change during the time of your stay? Thanks for the vid.
