I'll always love this band. I was there. At their shows, and at big blue (their practice), a few times. Their live shows would make the hair on your arms stand up! A bunch of great guys as well.
Fair play to whoever wrote the overview as to the lyrical contents of the 'collection', as it's well put together & very cohesive. As they state, "If for nothing else, "Core" is significant for being possibly the most solid concept album ever to be recorded by a group that wasn't aware that they were recording a concept album", & man, hasn't that become more & more apparent with the recent unrest & people pretty much fighting their own corner in an almost anarchic upheaval. Prophetic indictment.
Such a great band. I first heard about them from their "Buy this War," single back in 84 or so. Blew me away. Waited for their album "Give Thanks," which seemed like an eternity. After that I heard they imploded. Saw them play in '85 in Atlantic City at an Elks Lodge. VIc Bondi was sitting at the bar smoking a cigar.
Grabbed this cd 10 years ago at a punk shop in Toronto when I was like 14 and I still blast in the car all the time . The ending skips which brought me here
Wow, I like to think I know my punk & have Give Thanks somewhere in my collection but You Tube lets you sample lots of what you have long since forgot & amongst that you recall what you really liked & unearth some gems along the way. Bloggers ITA was one such find, in particular Ten Men Dead & this collection I add to that list. Excellent clarity on Bondi's diction, thought provoking lyrics & tight musicianship. Definitely added to my rotation...
Check out the Blaggers-on yer toez. Its their first album before they went hip hop -experimental with Blaggers ITA. Its way more pure streetpunk/oi if that your thing. I think its their best album anyways.
Yeah, I don't disagree with you about the writing being pretentious. I wrote this back in college when writing like this was expected and rewarded. I didn't mean to make it sound like they didn't have other albums -- just that this is excellent material (I think their best, honestly), and would have likely been a big deal if it had been released as a full album in 1983 instead of being half-released across several discs until 1991.

One of my favorite albums in the 80's was Give Thanks. Such a great album.
Articles Of Faith, by far my favorite hardcore band, not only because i’m from chicago, but because this is some of the best punk to ever exist.
Great band! Intelligent and hardcore as fuck.

That was written by good ol' me. I deeply appreciate your words, and it means a lot to me that what I wrote rang true for you.
Glow in the Dark.
A touch of class. Much Underrated.

Does anyone have the lyrics to the fifth track, Articles of Faith at 9:37? I can't find it anywhere.
Anyone know where I can find the lyrics to these songs?

Man the description is really pretentious. And it makes it sound like they didn't put out an album. They did two.

OriginalName90 I know what you mean about the college writing! Sorry if I came off as dickish. Thanks for posting this awesome album.
