It is still a fun movie, It's a shame did not get much recognition back in the day, but it has many cool elements, a crazy main character, zombies more like monsters, and interesting history, and cool visuals, indeed nice to revisit this clasic
😢 yeah man I remember reading this from the local library down the hill from me when I was probably 13 or 14 they came obsessed with it so years later when I started getting the DVD player I started looking for the movie finally found it about probably 5 or 10 years ago and I watched it usually every Halloween so it's still one of my favorite reviews for all the time it is too bad that it became a Cult movie but the it's gotta more fresh eyes seeing it more
It's a movie I was initially eh on but has grown on me. Also, random but relevant piece of trivia: the guy who plays the gang leader also played the convenience store robber RoboCop clotheslines in the first RoboCop!
“Necrapolis”, nice Iain! That joke was like the shot of Trioxin I needed to reanimate myself this morning. I like this film a little less than I used to & nothing holds a candle to the first, but it’s got an early 90’s charm and some of those old zombs look friggin PUTRID. Woulda loved to see Yuzna come back for one more in the 90’s. What if he and Screaming Mad George collaborated again? You know it may not be great, but certainly would have been memorable.
Great movie. My local video store had a life size cardboard of the female zombie.
Melinda Clarke. ♥️
shame we didn't see her feet.
Yep 🍆🤘🤘🤘👅
First time seeing this was on sci fi every Friday in the early 2000s they would show horror movies and this was one of them
Awesome review as always guys! 👊👊
This is a very underrated zombie movie. It doesn’t fit into the canon of the first film but neither did the second film either. It could have been a separate film altogether but it wouldn’t be as popular if it was just another mid-90s direct to video movie. That said, we don’t talk about 5 & 6.
"No, that's just a naked homeless man you're looking at." 🤣🤣
Kent's dad does survive as does his superior? I love that the technician in the final scene is the Cheese Man from Buffy AND the last commander of Babylon 5. I always took it that the incinerator was self contained, turning the filter off was just so they could kill themselves.
I used to watch Rave to the Grave whenever it was on Syfy. It's a guilty pleasure.
FANTASTIC review sirs!!! I didnt know there was a third one! you guys always amaze me inteet!
My favorite part is the mexican dude with the exposed spine
This was an incredible fun outing, especially the edgey 90s dominatrix look the girl had...Hey! You're British, you should review Dead Set and my personal favourite zombie media of time, In the Flesh. Oh how well the NIH handles the newly sentient Partially Deceased Syndrome Sufferers..what a great show that was, so ahead of its time!
Check out CSI if you want to see Melinda Clarke as a dominatrix
I couldn't find this flick for ages. I had only ever seen the beginning on like TNT a few times as a kid and I was obsessed with finding it. I never put 2 and 2 together, seeing the cover in my video store.
But I eventually found it and delighted in it.
I actually did up my ex gf as Julie for Halloween a few years back. Glass shards and bewbs and all.
I remember catching this late at night on sci-fi one time as well as rave to the grave and another one?
What a fever dream
It may have been a flop, but it is one of my favorite zombie movies of all time.
Nice review guys. In my opinion, I think this one is the best of the trilogy. It's certainly played "straight" and not for laughs. "Romeo and Juliet" meets zombies. Melinda Clarke is awesome in this role, certainly made it her own, and, I suppose one could say "iconic."
I think it’s way better than the second one (which was a beat for beat remake of the first)
I saw this movie around 99 or 2000. I thought it had some excellent ideas. Melinda was awesome as usual. I would love to have seen what it would've been with a proper budget, but it was still a serviceable and entertaining movie even if it looked cheap.
Thanks for the hard work boys 👊👊
Have they reviewed brotherhood of the wolf from 2001 a bit of a strange one coz it makes out it’s supernatural but it ain’t
This used to be on sci fi channel all the time when i was a kid. 😂
shelf life! ❤
the canister zombies always reminded me of the masks you'd see advertised in Fangoria or for sale on Skeggy pier
I love this movie!! 😌👌🏻
Is this the one where the hot mom from "The O.C." turns into a goth zombi?
6:45 one of the best things i've heard.
I watched this with my dad recently on vacation, I've seen it before. I think it's ok, decent. Funny enough he was into it lol
I loved all 3 of the Return of the Living Dead films, too bad they never made anymore after this! I am unanimous in that! : )
Julie end up becoming the Madam for a whorehouse on a planet in Firefly!
Doesnt matter what film it is, if i see the lads im watching regardless 👊.
Great vid guys, ROTLD 1is my best zombie film 3 is fantastic too
I wonder what t-shirt Curt has on him? Looks like a metal band shirt...
Julie!!!
It's on Tubi
I didn't watch the 1st one yet. Did you do a review on that @OffTheShelfReviews
They did indeed 👊
Love this film, first saw it when Gary lent me his vhs tape
Why would the cops shoot at the car?
A watchable franchise with decent SFX for the budget. While not a classic series, still we have seen worse in the Zombie sub genre.
I've never watched this one. I'm gonna look it up on Tubi before the review...
Worth it
22:02 Tored Up.
i totally remember renting this just cause the girl on the cover looked hot lol
I can't find your guys video on the second film. I'd love to see your opinions on 2 as well.
I love part 2 and will certainly be pushing it now to finish the trilogy. All hail Dana ashbrook lol ❤
They’ve not done the second film yet only the first, hopefully one day
For me this is the only good sequel in this franchise
It's better than Part 2, that's for sure!
I don't see how.
@@GODCONVOYPRIME that's cool.
Just fanedited this to be less cringe.
Yo Yo yo
I love the first movie, but this one is hot garbage.
Movie store horror section staple. Every video store had it on the shelf. Boo sex offender Brian Peck too bad he's so involved with this series.
This is a bit darker, but idk it's my personal favorite. It's so memorable i absolutely love this damn zombie circus freakshow of madness. It's terrifyingly hilarious! Especially the spine scenes!
This movie should have been better.
Return of the Living Dead 3 is so bleak.
🧟♂️ ❤
🎃👍
OMG! What a shitty movie! Why? ! Why did they go on making this movie?!? 😆 It should be titled " The Removing of The Living Dead"
Huh? You've already reviewed this film a couple of years back? Don't tell me you're now just reloading only shows?
Nope, this is a new review, and we have never reviewed this before, until now
@@OffTheShelfReviews quick question, do you guys care more about how good the story is or if it's entertaining, in regards to horror?
If it's entertaining that's good, but great stories are what we remember. So I'd say story is what I care about more. Cheers, Gary.
I hate this movie, breaks the lore, needlessly mean spirited nonsensical motivations, it just sucks. Besides it's not cannon. It doesn't have tarman.
What are you talking about? They are all mean spirited. I dislike 2 more because of the petshop scene
Couldn't agree more !!!! Never been a fan of this one or the ones after it .
@@godzillaprime not to the point of maliciousness.
The director was quoted as saying he wanted to reboot the franchise with this movie.
You folks think RotLD 3 or RotLD 2 is bad? Have you seen parts 4 and 5? 2 and 3 are cinematic masterpieces compared to 4 and 5!
