Thank you for this, really. I grew up in Memphis, have since moved away, and haven’t been to the Pink Palace in some time, so it was nice to relive my childhood for a bit.

My favorite museum...I went on several field trips there while in school in the early 70s. I still go every so often. The planetarium is amazing.

I went to the Pink Palace in the late 1980s on a field trip. I don't remember any of the exhibits from back then. However in the video room, we got to have live video with a submarine exploring the just-discovered Titanic wreckage. My classmates were able to ask the captain questions. It was quite amazing technology for the 80s.

    Hi!
Big fan of the channel, love seeing your walk arounds and tours!
Fun fact for you, the sound of the Tyrannosaurus that you can hear throughout little parts of the video as well as when you mention “That is one angry dinosaur”, it’s from a BBC programme called Walking With Dinosaurs, a 90s informative programme based on some theoretical knowledge. The sound specifically comes from a scene where two Tyrannosaur are mating! Interesting why they used that particular sound considering there are hundreds throughout the episode!

Wow the founder of Piggy Wiggly's house is pink. Epic. I remember in the 80s my mom would take me to piggy wiggly and we'd get all kinds of fun junk. Lol especially the iron on patches and photos for tshirts. They had all kinds of cool 80s singers and kids stuff like Jem and all that aesthetic. They had great junk food and just great odds and end.

Ringling Brothers used to have their parade themed to nursery rhymes. If you watch the old move The Greatest Show on Earth you get to see a lot of the actual wagons and floats themed to that. It was something that everyone all over knew and could relate to in the golden age of the circus.

I went to this museum with some friends years ago. All I remember about it is that some kid in my party wanted to touch everything. She probably would of have been better off in the children's museum. I liked it too. It's usually for older kids. I love that Piggly Wiggly store. That's what grocery stores used to be like. Now grocery stores are big and crowded. You can't find anything in a grocery store now. Back then we had the necessities. And the creator of Kellogg's corn flakes believed in euthanasia. He created corn flakes because he wanted black people and all non-white people to be skinny. He was quite a quack. But they're so good lol. I also like that circus miniature display because of all the clowns and stuff. And the sideshows were interesting. And those medical tools...scary. I wouldn't want to get poked with all that stuff. Well, thanks for sharing! Very interesting video! Have a great day!

Fairbanks Gold Dust is relatively infamous for its stereotypically "blackface"-ish mascots. That particular revision of the packaging is heavily toned down, so you wouldn't really know it unless you've seen their older stuff, which I presume Jacob must have at some point or other.
