I remember drinking Orbitz when I was a kid. It was pretty gross. The little balls were slimy and gelatinous, and the feeling of drinking a beverage with stuff floating in it was somewhat nauseating. LOL
Crystal Pepsi, on the other hand, was awesome! I was a big fan back in the day.
    Thanks for another great video!

When I was a kid I went to the Dr Pepper museum (it was practically nothing, and it also wasn’t the free enterprise whatever yet) and it was pretty sad. The bottle well was there, some old machinery was there, the animatronic man was there, and they had a pretty killer soda fountain. Up on the second floor they just had random displays from things like the Star Wars prequels and a junky TV that played old commercials. That being said, we went almost yearly and I loved it. I have a vivid sense memory of the cadence and tone of that Dr. Alderton animatronic’s speech! This museum is the reason my go to trivia has always been that Dr Pepper doesn’t have a period after the Dr, and one of their old mottos was “drink a bite to eat at 10, 2, and 4”
We stopped going after they started gutting the Dr Pepper collection to make room for the Free Enterprise thing, and it became even sadder. I’ve heard it’s been expanded into that building across the courtyard you went into and made better, and when I get home this summer I’ve got to go back. It looks INFINITELY nicer, let me just say.

I'll tell you, and this is the first time I've ever said it. We visited in 2006 when my daughter was 3. All over Waco, including the zoo and museum many many times awesome experience. Went into this place and everything was cool. Had to buy tickets for the upstairs exhibits, so we bought gifts and tickets. Went to the staircase and my daughter looked up the steps and began screaming and hyperventilating. It was so bad we had her outside on the sidewalk and the staff were making calls. We finally calmed her after we were in the car headed home. She told us she didn't want to talk about it.... At three years old. After that we passed the museum once, heading back to 19. My daughter kept repeating that's bad that's bad that's bad bad bad

Vernor’s always makes my heart so happy. My grandpa drank them and him and my brother both loved them. One day we were fishing out in the Florida heat and I was sooooo thirsty. We’d run out of my drinks and so he handed me a Vernor’s and before he could warn me, I started CHUGGING IT. For anyone that hasn’t had it, you can’t drink it fast. You just can’t. It’ll make you feel like you’ve been punched in the nose. For some reason for me, that barely happens. Here I was chugging this whole can of it in a matter of seconds and he fully expected me to be in PAIN. Nope. He was shocked. My brother and him both couldn’t believe that I was totally fine. The next time I drank it though, it felt like I’d jumped in to a pool and got a nose full of water. It hurt sooo bad. But it tastes sooooo good.

Oddly enough, in spite of the fact that I sat through this entire video and enjoyed it, I really don't care all that much for Dr. Pepper. I used to love it as a kid, but for some reason I can't stand it as an adult. I remember the Orbitz soda, which was actually pretty good, but just looked really weird. The can folk art was cool. On an unrelated note, there's some neat Coke can art in the queue for the Lion King show at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The story I was told about Vernors was the guy who invented it was experimenting and trying to make a drink. The only problem was it didn't taste very good. Since no one was drinking it he stored all of his drink in wood barrels. Right when all this was going on the civil war broke out. The inventor enlisted and didn't make it back home until the end of the war. When he got home he tried the drinking what he left in the barrels and it actually tasted good.
