M*a*s*h is such a great show, im way too young to have found this show when it was airing, but while my dad was out about a year ago I was snooping his movies and found season 1 to 11 and decided to watch the pilot out of boredom. When I found out it was a comedy, at first I was disappointed but godamn when I started watching it, it was so damn good.

He truly showed however just how bad PTSD could be in the last episode. When he snapped and was a patient with what then was called Battle Fatigue. I have some PTSD from events I have been thru and can tell you this much about it. That crap is NOT fun to deal with. The month of June for me is a horror show my doctor has a standing order for sleeping meds for me every June to help me get past that.
I grew up watching this show in the early 2000s. I loved the humour, and even ended up with it as a result. I recommend anyone to watch this series, I could watch the show for hours on end and never get tired of it.

When MASH was shown in the UK, the BBC decided to remove the laughter track. It was a great programme that was both heart-wrenching and heart-warming. The pathos of the programme is lost when there is fake laughter after every 'comedy' line.
Series creators Larry Gelbart and Gene Reynolds wanted M*A*S*H broadcast without a laugh track. Though CBS initially rejected the idea, a compromise was reached that allowed for omitting the laughter during operating room scenes if desired Seasons 1-5 utilized a more invasive laugh track; a more subdued audience was employed for Seasons 6-11 when the series shifted from sitcom to comedy-drama with the departure of Gelbart and Reynolds. Several episodes ("O.R.",d "The Bus", "Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler?", "The Interview", "Point of View", and "Dreams" among them) omitted the laugh track altogether; as did almost all of Season 11, including the 135-minute series finale, "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen".
I don’t disagree. Everyone can tell when something is genuinely funny without hearing the canned laughter. The problem with taking the laugh track out of M*A*S*H is the timing of the editing is clunky. The space left for laugh tracks is empty and some scenes play like it’s a rough cut.
I grew up with this show and dad was in ww2 I remember sitting in his lap watching it, he died when I was 5 so mash is very special to me. This episode is great, I love the ones where they’re all bundled up and cold but this one is especially good where they have to all be together sharing heat and jokes!😂
They missed the one where Frank had “hot feet” & they tore his heated hunting Sox off. Then Fr. Mulcahy says I need to get out of here - go to the nurse’s tent “ oh what am I saying? .” LOL

I especially like the shuttlecock bit and Frank's t.p.comment with Trapper's reply. My most favorite is the shrunken desk scene. But all of this is top drawer funny.
Later, the tables were turned... Frank: "C-rations?! You had steak!" Hawkeye: "I was just a puncher, Frank. You're a jumper." Frank: "You're a creep!" Hawkeye: "But I'm free. And you're a prisoner. See? I can go out, I can come in. Out, in. Out, in." That was a great episode😁.
@@DavidBDavis-lz7bt Frank: "What am I gonna tell my wife?" Hawkeye: "The truth always works Frank. Tell her you jumped another woman while waiting for your mistress".
Most people remember Hot Lips for her later portrayal in the show, where she was a stern but loyal officer, in many ways like Hawkeye and BJ but raised to pursue a stiff upper lip approach to the insanity around her. It's interesting to see these earlier episodes where she was just as much an elitist, "rank has its privileges" type as Burns, only she was actually useful in a crisis and her selfishness had limits.
Loved mash, used to stay up way past my bedtime to watch Mash at 11 PM followed by Hogans heros. But i never understood the lack of heating wood, there are trees all over the outskirts of the camp. When you cold, green wood burns just fine.
I've always thought they should do a show packed w/ jokes about the bad food. every episode seems to have hysterical food jokes. Kinger: "I really feel sick" Hawkeye:" I told you the food here shouldn't be taken internally!" Klinger had eaten parts of a jeep. Unfortunately, Henry's last line is missing. It went something like, "I'm talking to you from the middle of a very big empty."
When this whole mess started, I immediately thought of this episode and could only imagine how Hawkeye and crew would react to all this.
