Thankyou so much for your knowledge. I passed my assessment day but I don't want to join on entry level fitness requirements and struggle at kapooka cause I know I would be setting myself up for a very hard time. I joined a 28 day Crossfit challenge and I am also doing the ADF zoom fitness 6 week challenge (2 zoom per week) as I want to be ready ready not just to be joining on the bare minimum. Your advice is always so on point mate. All I have to do is the fitness test now, but I know in the next 6 weeks I will be ready 😎😎
You have a great attitude and the professionalism will pay off by out sourcing the training to the CrossFit etc so well done and I look forward to your heads up as you hit your goals in the very near future.. I wish more people understood their obligation as you seem to mate..
Thank you, Cas. You've been a massive, bloody help! I've gone for infantry. I just finished the aptitude test today and am eagerly awaiting the next steps.
Love your idea of keeping people in Kapooka until they are ready. Yes I agree with being able to swim last time I checked 18 months ago I could swim 200m but I haven't been training that recently. I am training all weather so I can build up that performance margin. My current training program allows me to train 3 sets of 30 or 40 and that includes easier repetitions. Easy to do 15 pushups but try doing 3 sets of 40 incline. If I cannot do that then I am not conditioned enough to pass a BFA.
@@acestevceski6653 I was able to run 4 minutes without stopping yesterday and easily complete 3 sets of 40 incline pushups plus 1 set of advanced incline pushups 25 of 35 today.
@@inthetrencheswithcas1762 Yeah mate, only right at the end when I got out in 2010. I had transferred to scablifters and was posted to LBMC when I was discharging. I met you a couple of times when you were managing the guys in 1RAR that were doing rehab/discharge. Before that, I was posted as a company medic at 2RAR for about 4 years and did most of my deployments with them, it was around the time you were a PL SGT at 1 RAR. I could see the political bullshit was firmly established at LBMC and put my discharge in as soon as I got there. It was good working with Murphs when I was there, tho.
The BFA was always done to meet the bare minimum fitness requirement to serve in the army but it has been taken away as a gate to pass basic go figure...
@inthetrencheswithcas1762 Yeah I get that but I was very wrong u do not do a lot of training at at basic but thr training is hard I've lost so much fitness
Hey cas, I'm going to singleton for a week for Cadets. I'm doing school of infantry on the second dy. Do you know anything I should expect or look out for? Thanks.

hey guys, in year 12 at the moment and ive started the application for adf service, (army mostly), wondering if anyones got advice or suggestions for this stage of my defence journey? Great videos Cas love em
Harry I suggest you jump onto my Patreon so we can have a one on one conversation and start your journey right, I am here to help while having a laugh..
Thanks Cas I'm definity looking into it, just curious which of the options I choose on the patreon page because theres a few options, and I also is it a one time payment thingy or a multiple payments just curious not familiar with patreon thats all.
Army’s become a joke… 17 years later I’ve seen it has turned into a corporation that does not adhere to standards required of a conventional soldier.. The values that made the Australian soldier are now discouraged.. it’s sad but even you could see Cas this boat has a hole in it. Would pay money to see the discharge vs attrition rates for army in 2022
Hi there, I am 53 and have an enlistment date of the 4th July. Cleared all my entry requirements easily with no problems. Some good hard training, good attitude and a little bit of stubbornness to get what you want.
even when the PFA was at a higher standard we still had this problem just lower numbers, the BFA pass rate straight out of Kapooka is poor, I personally went in with the bare minimum and the only reason why I ended up at a half decent level is from Digger James, I had a cyst that needed to be removed missed the last Christmas platoon and covid had me held in DJ's for 4 months doing pt 2x a day. the troop I'm with at AST is good we only had 3 fail the BFA but passed on the second attempt :) always aim to be better then the person next to you
Isnt the pre enlistment for non combat is only 8 push ups and 20 sit ups? But then i found out about the bfa. Doable but its just really the swimming that held me back😂
Cas my names Mitch i religiously watch your videos and do my utmost to absorb your knowledge imparted therein. Could you do a video explanation of how the PESA works? lots of people dont know that there are tiers of physical assessment besides PFA and BFA . if you have already done a info dump on it could you comment the link? if not then i look forward to seeing your insight on this.

what should a be a good 2.4km time to aim for before doing the assessment
I’m in and I’m 18 u need a time of 11:18 to pass
9 mins flat if going into a combat corp.
If you’re under 30 & running anything over a 10:20 have a look at yourself
How many km is he talking about to run under 10 mins

so u do the BFA after Kapooka and you go to whichever school u need to how are you not ready after that isn't what basic is for

I think the pfa should be raised to ensure quality of candidates is kept fighting fit because we are only as good as our weakest link

They're probably doing a full week of 'equity and diversity' and heat 'injury training' each month now.
CAS again talking truth bombs ❤️🇦🇺💥
Mate cheers it can’t all be roses and honestly what Japooka is doing is wrong
Thoughts on a 35yr old joining ?
average age of commandos 33 I heard.... I think it all comes down to what Cas has said. Go in prepared.

Brutal, but I needed to hear it 👍🏻
Cas is very disappointed in us all.
Only those that don’t prepare then fail and let themselves down while wasting others time..
Can’t you just, if a male, claim to identify as a woman and therefore have to do a much less arduous fitness test, in todays Australian Army?
