Chester native transplanted to Philly (and now parts beyond)... I met a lot of nerdy suburban kids in college, and you remind me of a lot of them. They got the respect of my hometown friends because they were always chill and real. They didn't act all weird and hyper like 'OMG I'm hanging with the tough kids, lookit me!' They had the right amount of respect with their curiosities, and they knew when it was time to mind your own business, and when it was OK to ask what questions. We weren't badasses or anything, but growing up in rough neighborhoods you meet all kinds. Also you're all packed in so closely, you learn how to delicately handle shady people and situations, because you've got to live with these people. You can't be going around giving people the evil eye or walk up to someone with a bravado of superiority. Much respect for what you do, please keep bringing these conditions to light. Maybe one day Philly can come back from all this. I miss my city. 😞

I can't believe that guy was a CO, and found himself locked up with the same guys he used to supervise. They always say that CO's have it hard on the other side, but I guess if you give respect, you get respect back, and that carries over. I was born and raised in Philly. Was able to move out to the suburbs. This video is philly spot on. Everything runs on respect. Most violence happens because of disrespect. Everyone’s nice for the most part. Neighborhoods just live in poverty and it’s a huge drug problem down k&a.

The way he acted is exactly how this dorky white guy did 13 months in county prison in Harrisburg PA (about 2 hours from Philly). I never got in one fight or even really even an argument. I did my pushups and talked to people and shared laughs and ALWAYS gave respect. That is exactly what came back to me too.

I've been held at gunpoint, robbed, my car has been attempted grand theft auto with automatic weapons, I live in southwest Philly. Last week I caught a man INSIDE my husband's car broke into the vehicle, and this dude crawled out the window told me was gonna shoot me, bruh this fuckin city IS DYING OUT HERE

This is INSANE . I live in the philly suburbs, always have. I back in 2015-2016 I was about 19/20 & was ALWAYS in philly. I had no fear of anything. I mean I was at the Diamond Street projects, PHA projects & all that. But in the past few years, a lot has changed. You wont CATCH me in philly unless I absolutely have to. Nowadays people/kids are doing crimes like robbing & shooting in broad daylight AND IN FRONT OF THE POLICE. People have no fear of death or jail anymore In philly. The police make it no better because there will literally be a shootout a block away from a police station & they wont act on it until the gun fire stops because they dont want to lose their lives anymore. Its really crazy out there because people just dont care. And dont get me started on the catalytic converters !

Born and raised in Philly. I lived in the diamond projects when I was 19. PR family took me in. I was on the streets. I was not an addict just a dysfunctional family. I had some of the best times. Things have definitely changed. I wouldn’t go back. I currently live in Philly but it’s right outside of Bensalem. Love and prayers for all ❤

For me these videos are interesting because the whole city myself included all are desensitized to all of this now. When he started talking about the trash it really made me think because I'm so used to it I turn a blind eye toward it likes its white noise just something that's always been there.
I was raised literally blocks from where they were. I used to walk to the bus stop to go to school with junkies laying on the streets already on their first hit before 7 am. Philly was no where I wanted to raise children, I had to leave.

I've lived in the Philly suburbs my whole life. Everytime I go there on business or to visit friends, it gets worse. The trash, the smell, the infrastructure, the crime, the drugs, the corruption. The place is an absolute shithole.

I grew up in the Fifties on those very streets. I see the houses of kids I went to school with in the video. White, Irish/Italian/Polish neighborhood. You could walk anywhere at any time and never give crime a thought. We'd walk home from the Midway movie after 11 PM... never a problem.

I been out to dinner with Bernie Madoff about 6, 7 times when I worked in the Stock Market. Him and my manager was real tight. It was because he was so humble and well liked that he was able to get all that money up out of people. MADF was the trading symbol of him company. I had coffee mugs, beach towels and all kinds of shit with MADF on it. He was a pretty cool dude, but at the end of the day he was money hungry and took advantage of people that trusted him.
