When I started playing I was like I will be good as raze but once I accidentally I took brimstone and I play well I am new player. Started like 1 week ago and I hitted my best game ever 25/12/9. So I tried him next game and still pretty solid so I think I am going to start playing as an controller. BTW top video earned sub and like
happened with me, I mained kayo but decided to play cypher one time when kayo was already taken, and i played the best game of my 3 week Valorant experience
The sentinel role is actually at a weird spot because there's only 4 sentinels agents in the game right now. Sage is the most unique character and thus not really a passive information gatherer. I think Chamber nerfs will make him assume this role better but he can't really set up to defend an area with his kit
I disagree with how you define the sentinal role at "passive info gathering" the way I see it, which also does not make any character feel they have the wrong role, is what and how their abilities impact. The enemy moves into sentinal abilities, duelist abilities help take space, initiator abilities assist someone taking space, and controller abilities break up the space itself. Chambers abilities helps him hold an angle with the trip holding the flank, meaning he has always fit the sentinal role. I still don't get why people think he is like a duelist
He kind of can now that his trip isn't global. He'll probably use it for his own site to watch one angle, and play an off-angle with his anchor on the other. But you're definitely right, the role is a bit weird.
If anyones aim is consistent but their struggling with gamesense i would 100% recommend astra. She is by far a top teir solo or duo q agent: even after her nerfs VCT teams still considered her in a few maps. She teachs timing, working around smokes and team play. She is difficult to master but is by far one of the funnest agents, an easier agent to learn that teaches similar things are viper and fade both require heavy awareness and utility usage.
Not to mention the ability to be anywhere on the map and help your team so yiu can play however you want, plus global post plant with no lineups required
I am a new player not only in Valorant but in games like this. I get Astra and absolutely love her! Design, abilitys, esthetic. I know that she is hard to learn an agent, but I am really enjoying her when her stars kill enemies or being useful for teammates.
whenever I start to feel comfortable on an agent, I get a few games in a row with teammates that yell at me and make me feel uncomfortable with the agent. in lower ranks most of the people expect everyone to play like a duelist. I have tried out around 70% of the agents, at this point I don't even know what to play anymore. And I would defend myself, but not always I'm doing too good, so I'm scared to even say something. Let's not even talk about correcting them when they're doing something wrong. I feel like my aim is fine, but I'm not confident in it so I lose a lot of gunfights. The biggest reason why I don't rank up is most likely because I still haven't found the right agent to plat, at this point everyone feels wrong, I get flamed for being a bottom frag while playing Sage, also I get yelled at for not entering as a Sage, and then they get mad when I tell them it's the duelists job to do. I have been taking Sage for 85%of my game because she's the safest agent to play, but I'm getting tired of her and since I have to play passive I'm getting less and less confident in my aim. It's honestly so confusing. I have watched quite a lot of videos about this previously too, so I'm just lost.
I completely feel that, I also just cannot decide on an Agent and Role. I like aspects of each (Duelists and Controllers the most), but have very inconsistend aim. I have never been the best with game sense, so if I play something fast I don't have the Aim to back it up and every time I play something more passive I feel like my whole team dies before I even get to do something and then I don't have the aim to clutch it out. So I just jump between agents and tend to get frustrated a lot if nothing really works and then yes people start to flame.
I'd say try out playing without mic on, or without voice chat. Of course, communication has its benefits, but if many times you get flamed when you turn on voice chat, its better to just turn it off. Learn from there and find out from your own experience which agent you're comfortable with, regardless of what anyone else says, then perhaps you can learn to use that agent well, or learn to use another agent that suits the way you play
hi, im still silver but i'm quite understand you, because in this season before the rank revealed i played with an iron team and they blamed me for being bot fragged doing my duty behind while they 4 played like duelist and i kept dying last person, they kicked me out after one lose round and then they just continue losing every game and stuck iron while i climbed to silver quite fast, i think most important thing is to remember your role duty, and trade kill when you can, your aim doesn't matter, being the last when your job done is perfect, you just have to only hear good criticism from your teamates and skip toxic one. For the aim confidence part, I'm trying on that too, before this, I never try to play duelist before and slowly improving my aim playing any other roles beside duelist and not confident either, but now i practice my aim everyday and try instalock jett or reyna to improve my skills (still sucks though, it's even worse start practicing when I've already reached 180 level cuz there are so many smurfs, i got diffed everytime i play lol, hope my comment help you boost your confidence!

I recently played valorant and I found playing as a controller/smoke is the best for me. I love the idea of being creative with smokes and giving my team help by isolating enemies with my smokes.
There's subclass in controllers too, if u like sneaky play, Viper and Omen are the go to. Viper's entire gameplay is sneaking around walls and smokes, and killing enemies where they dont see.
I think another sentinel with an ulti that can bring someone back from the dead, but the are only back for 40 seconds and if suppressed will decay to 1. That way we get another sentinel and gives the support style players another option, this new sentinel would have a molly that highlights enemies, a dash, and a pet that alerts when someone steps in it's range (it'll track for footsteps and visual contact but in a limited range)
I would love to see a controller with a heal ability. Like a smoke that slow heals allies. We got an area healer and a solo healer. Distance healer would be dope. And the con is obvi you gotta hide in it which is yay healing but also no vision. Possibly busted but I think balanced enough. But yeah either a controller or sentinel next would be nice
Totally agreed on the part you need to find your perfect role, as I started valorant, I was one the annoying instalocker duelists who bottom frags, but after playing intiators like sova and skye and controller like viper, I somewhat improved a lot. Duelists are agents hard to master, but if you can't master one, switch to the other 3 roles and try them out you might find your best role :3. (cluthing with viper - 33/10/6)
I love it when I play sentinel in attack and I cover the flank, kill someone and that person type in all chat "Cypher/Killjoy you really do love camping" when I just don't want anyone to flank the rest of my team lol
IKR bro im called a rat for holding a common angle like tf and then on attack my team flames me for dying when its been 30 seconds and im the first on site bc noone entrys and i die we need a new sentinel
A controller with a healing grenade would be a m a z i n g, rather, have them pull up a radio, like brims hologram, and call a healing crate to a select area, then allies can interact for 40 or so health each
that probably happens because during the round you're more focused on shooting rather than using your util. it's also why i do the best on killjoy. the time needed for me to set up/use my util is really low, which means that i spend more time concentrating on aim and duels
I’m not great at the game but when I unlocked viper (first agent I unlocked In The game) I was using my wall to play mind games on the second match I did. Because you can set it up before the round starts. Was kinda funny. I’d throw my wall on A and the entire enemy team would be there. But my team was at B

I really like playing smokes in a serious game like omen or ♥️viper♥️, but I think everyone should know how to play safe just because she is very useful. I play Reyna when I’m having fun in swift play
I tend to play Yoru and other duelist alot of the time, generally to confuse and get around my opponents, every so often i play Cypher or KJ, I sometime pop-off with them, most times though, the attackers go to the opposite site.

I might say i m a jett main ^^
I like the question. There’s not really aggressive or passive controllers. Controllers kinda need to stay alive as dying on them means no more smokes. And smokes are super important. However once the smokes are used you can be a lot more free with your other utility. Omen has tools to be aggressive. So he can be aggressive better than say Astra. Now Im Asc2 and got KJ 179h 304matches 53.9% win and 1.13kd, Fade 176h 303matches 49.2% win and 0.97kd ALL ACTS. Each day Im better at game but I think Im lacking/missing my own playstyle, playin KJ is so easy no matter what tactic, playin Fade is harder and awesome but I feel perfect playing both. There's 1 thing that I cant find within my playstyle, sometimes offensive, sometimes defensive and I dont know If Im playing my best like Its not my Peak, maybe I should search again in agents and adjust my role to duelist - Phoenix/Reyna or controller - Omen/Viper/Brim.
I don't know why i always go with fade and rush peoples in the map, i think that's a wrong thing to do. I'm don't sure about that if it's smart thing to do or not
Fade is an aggressive agent, she has good offensive utility, but her util is not selfish like duellists’ Basically no, you shouldn’t rush people alone as fade, but if you’re letting your teammates rush them, with the help of your utility, then that’s perfect!
We litterally have 6 duelists, 5 controllers, 6 initiators and only 4 sentinels! Also 2 of them are not pretty good sentinels, because firstly, Chamber was more duelist than sentinel and Sage doesn't have any utility that could give an information where the opponent is. However, Kj and Cypher are 2 true sentinels and they are really strong if you play them right. The last sentinel was Chamber so it was pretty a long time ago. The new agent Gekko is an initiator and the last initiator was Fade! We really need some more TRUE sentinels. And it would be great if this sentinel would use technology like Kj and not powers like Pheonix or Sage or maybe for example this agent would use both; technology and powers. That would be interesting. Especially in case of Valorant lore.
Bro, chamber isn’t a duelist. He cant enter site, cause if he has his tp set up to tp off contact, then he is suddently behind his team, and has not made any space at all. He also doesn’t have flashes or a movement ability to get onto site. On defense he can be a bit more like a duelist. Taking aggressive angles, like a jett, or reyna. But still then he has a trip for info. Instead of heal and Flash like reyna, and instead off updraft and smokes like jett.
id love to see a new controller . There is not enough controller players to hold flank while our jett or our neon tries to run and without getting flanked while rotating. Would be great
i really dont know what to play, my aim is either really good or really bad thats why i went with sentinel,, but it feels so shit when i have to wait on my team to do something. maybe ill just try initiator for a while
I like how initiators play like breach but I find myself doing better in games when I play a sentinel and lurk so I’m not sure what to play I play breach Astra
I first chose Omen just because I thought he was cool but then I realized I was not good enough when it comes to smoking or teleportation, I used his ult wisely though but I still thought something is off then I chose Reyna because someone instalocked Omen and after then I started to using her as she is perfect for me who only depends on mechanics....
The thing is for me im not sure what to do, i usually just use initiator or controller But on both idk if im of much use anyway On controller i feel like a double edged sword i can be hindering both my teammates and enemies
Me : likes pratically every duelist, likes agressive playstyle Also me: waits for my initiator to help me out entry site. My initiator: crickets ... Me: Hey initiator can u help me entry site? My initiator: crickets ... 30 seconds untill we lose the round Me: Entries the site and dies without trade 'cause no team follow up.. Next round Me: plays more passive but whole team dies 'cause no one holding our backs Me: o.O Me: fck it I'm playing as lurker from now on.
If your a controller I highly recommend watching pro players that use that controller Like with omen I learned how to tp without them knowing where you are tping by looking away from the area ur tping at
Is Fade and or Killjoy beginner friendly? (Beginner as in I just got into playing PC after playing console my whole life.) I just wanna say I have played like 1,000 hours of Apex and Overwatch (my main was Valkyrie/Wattson and Mercy/Pharah/Orisa, if any of this helps to show how much time I have in """team"""" based games)
If you really want to be aggressive, but don’t have the best mechanics, you could probably do your best works on agents like Chamber, Jett, Phoenix, even Raze. Jett and Chamber can OP aggressively on defense. Jett and Raze have movement abilities that allow you to go aggro, and as long as you’re comfortable blast packing/smoke dashing you don’t need the best aim. And Phoenix is an obvious choice since he good solo- flashes making kills easier
And than there is me who plays Initiator and acts like a Duelist because I like to go and fight but I also like to heal my team if needed because it happend more than once that I carried the Team in Comp even when I tried to play in the background
If you’re not sure, you kind of have to ask yourself how you like to play? And if even then you don’t know, watch back a game, or ask one of our coaches. It should be fairly easy to figure it out from there.
i never enjoy when I watch role based videos for valorant because i love to play as sage, a sentinel, and any time a channel talks about sentinels they speak about everyone but her. Her abilities are not like Cypher's, I just cannot apply the knowledge given to her. It's very disappointing, because i just wanna learn how to be a better sentinel

I'm don't sure about that if it's smart thing to do or not
Fade is an aggressive agent, she has good offensive utility, but her util is not selfish like duellists’
Basically no, you shouldn’t rush people alone as fade, but if you’re letting your teammates rush them, with the help of your utility, then that’s perfect!
Idk why you think chamber is a duelist, every ability except his Sheriff match the sentinel role

Would be great
Sentinels do that also you just got harbor
@@georgecunningham1874 harbor desperately needs a buff tho
i would love to see an updated version of this
NEW updated TIER list for agents !!!!!
Coming soon!
Hi proguides. I'm trying to practice being the main AWPer for my 3 stack. Any agents/skills you would recommend for me to pick up/learn?
chamber or jett
Flicks, positioning, peeking
Chamber
Neon jett
Chamber is dead
@@thunderp1719 Chamber is still good for holding angles to get first picks, just that he can't take the most aggressive angles anymore
i really dont know what to play, my aim is either really good or really bad thats why i went with sentinel,, but it feels so shit when i have to wait on my team to do something. maybe ill just try initiator for a while
I like how initiators play like breach but I find myself doing better in games when I play a sentinel and lurk so I’m not sure what to play I play breach Astra
Remember when the flash initiators were also the duellists 😢
I first chose Omen just because I thought he was cool but then I realized I was not good enough when it comes to smoking or teleportation, I used his ult wisely though but I still thought something is off then I chose Reyna because someone instalocked Omen and after then I started to using her as she is perfect for me who only depends on mechanics....
The thing is for me im not sure what to do, i usually just use initiator or controller
But on both idk if im of much use anyway
On controller i feel like a double edged sword i can be hindering both my teammates and enemies
I will just keep instalocking yoru and lurk
im a omen main but i play him like a duelist and i’m telling u this is not boring
Me : likes pratically every duelist, likes agressive playstyle
Also me: waits for my initiator to help me out entry site.
My initiator: crickets ...
Me: Hey initiator can u help me entry site?
My initiator: crickets ...
30 seconds untill we lose the round
Me: Entries the site and dies without trade 'cause no team follow up..
Next round Me: plays more passive but whole team dies 'cause no one holding our backs
Me: o.O
Me: fck it I'm playing as lurker from now on.
agent tier list pls
patch 5.12
Hey pro guides, I’m interested in learning harbor as a main agent. Is he beginner friendly?
No
No he requires quite a bit of skill, gamesense and mostly thinking
No
If your a controller I highly recommend watching pro players that use that controller
Like with omen I learned how to tp without them knowing where you are tping by looking away from the area ur tping at
I like both sentinel and smoker can't focus on one 😂
But I'm sure I'm way better with cypher than brimstone
Is Fade and or Killjoy beginner friendly? (Beginner as in I just got into playing PC after playing console my whole life.) I just wanna say I have played like 1,000 hours of Apex and Overwatch (my main was Valkyrie/Wattson and Mercy/Pharah/Orisa, if any of this helps to show how much time I have in """team"""" based games)
I just want to point out how nice you sound, great voice
Is yoru a flasher duelist or movement duelist?
Flasher duelist, but with a movement ability.
He has 2 flashes , what do you think ?
0:46
when you wide peek and find 3 enemies looking at you, you know you're fkd
I love neons design but I’m so bad at her and I feel like my play style is more like a controller or initiator
0:44 in this moment he knew
*he’s fu#£ up*
Sgt Frost do you use a voice changer? Something always sounds off about your voice to me and I feel like it’s driving me crazy
hey proguides any best agents for aggressive playstyle but normal aim my rank is immortal 1
What would sage be?
And than there is me who plays Initiator and acts like a Duelist because I like to go and fight but I also like to heal my team if needed because it happend more than once that I carried the Team in Comp even when I tried to play in the background
bro i dont care what role i just want another player that can heal there team
honestly just pick anything but duelists bc by the time im loaded in every duelist in the game is allready instalocked.
As great as you make them all sound, my aim is still shit 😢
i want another good sentinel like cypher as my friend with which i duo instalocks him permanently as we both main him...
as the hooj once said sum like "this is solo q be aggressive"
Soooooo, what are my in game traits?
If you’re not sure, you kind of have to ask yourself how you like to play?
And if even then you don’t know, watch back a game, or ask one of our coaches. It should be fairly easy to figure it out from there.
we need another healer
i play raze and brimstone
A melee assassin agent
This video is very informative, lez nerf chamber
When i play fade i have like 12 kills but 14 assists
I like them equally 😭
I can't choose one
As they say, role is big ASSpect of valorant so choose wisely guys.
I really dont understand. I play everysingle damn agent anc cant main anyone.
i play duelist because im impatient
SECOND
THIRD
FOURTH
i never enjoy when I watch role based videos for valorant because i love to play as sage, a sentinel, and any time a channel talks about sentinels they speak about everyone but her. Her abilities are not like Cypher's, I just cannot apply the knowledge given to her. It's very disappointing, because i just wanna learn how to be a better sentinel
Now I understand why I prefer controller xD
if you want to find your perfect agent just start playing sova, i have 700 hours on sova and not im not braindead
i played a lot of Five Nights at Freddy's, therefore i will play Cypher

Bro sounds like Kay/O I swear
I have the Ego of a duelist but the mechanics of a POTATO 😅
Gekko
