What a beautiful result, it was nice to see that you kept some of the little problems which cropped up and how you remedied them, that was useful to learn from.
Tim Peterson Same here. Coming out of the movie after hearing those cars in a theatre and then the first thing you hear is some kid in a Honda Civic with a muffler was honestly such a jarring experience XD
Same here bud!! I have one already-though disappointed this kit does NOT come with full engine detail and open engine compartment-I do LOVE the photo-etch fret though!
Saw this video months ago, but after seeing the film, I'm doing the same thing. Probably going for the 1/12 scale Trumpeter release coming out in December 2019 + KA detail up kit.
man I never knew a car like this could look so good . I guess the detail is all in ur head & Tamiya polishing products . fantastic look u accomplished . thanks 4 the tricks for make a paint job so smooth & even .
Fujimi kits are very nice indeed. I use the bodies of such kits and put a slotcar chassis under them for racing. Wish I had the skill David has in making them up. But then again, I wouldn't want to race them.
Wonderful job! One of my favorite cars. I used to build models of all types when I was young, but not nearly as good as this of course. I have too many things going on in life now with family and responsibility to be able to do this. So I enjoy watching you work. Thanks.
I showed all your recent videos and this one. Your technic was very progress ! Thank you ! It’s really nice for me. I think that i don’t have the level that you get on this one, it’s cool for me : i show my error. Thank you again ! You make a good job !
Outstanding! I really enjoy your channel. I love the fact you do much of the assembly work before painting (cockpits and interiors) too often I spend far too much time detailing and painting every single part seperately before gluing it all together. Your approach is one I'll adopt in future builds. I think it'll be many more years and hundreds of models down the line before i ever manage to finish a model as well though. Carry on! You're a master at what you do :)
You are now bound for life to wear white gloves whenever you want to view this beautiful work of art, bravo my friend, brave. looks fresh off the production line haha =)
great job considering it's the cheapest modern GT40 1/25 model available, and does not come with a complete engine. EXCELLENT !! a stunning superb build. thanks for posting.
I actually liked it after you scuffed it up, but before you polished it. I’ve seen a lot of older track cars in person, and the paint is always somewhat dull like that. It’s lost it’s luster from thousands of miles of dirt and debris hitting it at high speed. Even when the car is clean, it looks drab. And they never re-paint certain cars, because the paint adds weight (and decreases value). So what you usually see is an original coat of thin, faded paint.
In case anyone is curious, the background music is "I Am a Man Who Will Fight for Your Honor" by Chris Zabriskie. I love this music. It's like an extended version of the motif that plays in the last stretch of the Le Mans in the Ford vs Ferarri movie. Funny coincidence, considering this video came out years before that movie did.
If you did this model over again, would you follow the same sequence? I noticed you decided to sand and polish after everything was fitted... and no clear as a final post-decal step. I've watched some of your other videos where you do things a bit differently. Is it trial and error or dependent on the model? Great videos - very relaxing.
Very nice. I wish I had your skills. I have been trying to combine 2 kits to duplicate may fathers GT40 (#1029) The kit you show here, (the Mark II which has the correct wheels) and the gt40 MK 1. I have all the decals, but this is where I screw it up overtime. That and your paint is much better. I might have to take another crack at it
I bet his heart sank when he saw that it was a single piece body, but raised back up again after seeing those etched metal parts. It's good for a change to see these more basic beginner's kits being done to such a flawless standard.
Awesome job ! Looks Great ! I am a sucker for Ford G.T. or G.T. 40's a little unconventional to sand n polish after building but with this one maybe you had to but either way the end result is all that matters. And it looks great!
Amazing model man, I love your step by step builds. I just had a quick question on what you use to hand paint little details, like interior bits and suspension components? What type of paint and brush? Also another question would be if I can get similar paint results with a spray paint can as you do with an airbrush? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.
I used Tamiya pointed brush small. The cheapest brush. Yes, but a layer of colour and varnish will be very thick and a little bit unrealistic. Sandpaper will help
What a beautiful result, it was nice to see that you kept some of the little problems which cropped up and how you remedied them, that was useful to learn from.
Downright impressive. This is my favorite auto and you did it justice.
Came here after seeing “Ford vs. Ferrari” and getting the idea to build three of these.
Tim Peterson Same here. Coming out of the movie after hearing those cars in a theatre and then the first thing you hear is some kid in a Honda Civic with a muffler was honestly such a jarring experience XD

Curious how many hours a build like this takes you. Fantastic results! Thanks for posting the videos very helpful and inspirational.
Good luck
to say I'm impressed is a understatement. Beautiful build
Magnificent, absolutely beautiful, love the level of detail, and the process of the construction of the Ford GT40, Great work . :)
Ahh plasmo early vids. So cool to see how the channel has evolved

Je ne pouvais pas être plus d'accord

Great build I have the same model you have shown me the way, thank you David.
Spectacular build! I never like music. This was a perfect choice.

Thank you. I appreciate that very much.
Cool video, Great job. Beautiful Mendelssohn
Ottimo filmato e bellissimo risultato!
Have this kit and the Ken Miles car in the stash. The GT40 has to be one of the most beautiful racing cars ever made
Interesting to see your order of build as compared to mine. Wonderful results.

Great job!! Ive been to scared to try cars because of the polishing. Can't wait to see whats next.
amazing job, as always! will you ever do a video to showcase models on display?
would you ever sell built models?

Awesome job...looks great
Great painting!
I guess this, by your usual standard, a relax build? Haha
Lovely work as usual :D
Yes, I build this model after one week and I enjoyed it very much. Just like you wrote a relax build.
Beautiful...!!!!Nice work...
My favorite car ever! 🤩
Always incredible work!
Beautiful finish.
Hopefully someone will make a 2016 Le Mans Ford GT kit so you can have a twin for this one.
that would be an interesting build video he could do
Awesome build!

Remarkable ! On most of the pictures at the end, it's almost impossible to tell if it's a model or a real car :)

Nice work, not to sure about the seats but the rest is fantastic !
TheHelado36 Just remember how zoomed in it was those dimples are pretty tiny.
Looks great, amazing how you got the paint to come back and look so good. Corvette next??
For the body color, why do you use flat black instead of gloss? Is there any advantage of using XF1?
That was just magic to whatch love the old American muscle I've got some to start just haven't got the time yet 🤗🤗🤗🤗😁😁😁😁
