Ok its time for an update on this. I want to see how unruly the ferns and grass became over time lol. It looks good. Melamine covered MDF sealed with silicone no drain is that correct? Have you tried seeding plants yet? I have had great sucess with that.
Melamine, chip board. Unfortunately it wasn't progressing much and I ended up breaking it down. I am in the process of working towards a bigger space (9m x 3m) to use as a studio and if all goes to plan as a Giant Reptile room eventually so I'm trying to minimise what I have going on in order to focus on bigger projects. When I eventually do something like this again I will go with built in misting and drainage. I think this is where this one fell short
@CopperheadCustoms I looked up a QLD nursery and here are 3 plants that would do better for you in viv conditions Euonymus japonicus microphyllus 'Easy Hedge'PBR Lomandra confertifolia 'Little Con' Pratia pedunculata They are available in Victoria there is also a Dichondra species that works for ground cover in shade. Shade plants adapt best to our artificial light. I have a native dichondra that took off in my viv that looks great with those kidney shaped leaves.

@dshobe720 haha I was searching for Native Jungle species yesterday and watching some documentaries . I'd love to find creepers and shingling natives.

I'm not entirely sure of the species, they were just a hardware store one, they help up alright but tend to look good even if they die.
