Theory I've come up with. After Gon and Killua separated, Killua didn't know what to do with himself, so he became su¡c¡d@l, and vulnerable, but he didn't want to die before Gon came back, and didn't want to tell himself that, so he claimed that he wanted to die with a woman who is willing to die with him. As Killua was sitting on the street, Mori found him and offered him the same thing Dazai did Akutagawa, something to live for, Killua decided to give in but didn't want to be known as 'A member of the family of assassins' and made up a random name, Osamu Dazai. Killua mainly agreed because if he was able to find a reason to live besides waiting for Gon, he would do it. As he grew into the port mafia, he met someone who makes him act like himself, Odasaku and Ango, until well, you know, because Odasaku told him to go into the light, he tried immediately, as Odasaku reminded him of Gon a whole lot. That's all I have so far.
Okay but like suicidal thoughts don’t go away easy and if killua had that thought before then that led him to think about it again after he and gon split and over time he lost himself kinda and that failed attempt (like in the beast Au i think? Dk if it’s canon) that’s how dazai meets mori and it just like leads on, or even that mori has close connections to the zoldyck family until he tried to do some dumb stuff ig and they lost contact. That would be like really weird but it’s makes sense I guess, killua/dazai would still have the pain intolerance, maybe it was a little lower and he knew torture techniques to use in the PM cuz of his family and that. It would be complicated to proper go trhough all tjogther and each person who follows this au would obviously mould it to there liking and stuff.
