51 yrs in NYC as a metal head...the b.boys been holding down the 5 boroughs for decades and decades...the flows are untouchable and MixMasterMIKE is unBEATABLE world wide..facts...you need to spend the next week listening to the first 3-4 albums if you wanna hear something...youll be bouncing.. believe it..no beefs..pure party.
the greatest rap group of all time. more songs: high plains drifter, get it together, pass the mic, sure shot, hold it now hit it, shadrach, do it, professor booty, shake your rump, paul revere, car thief, the new style, etc.
Beastie Boys is a great rabbit hole to go down, I grew up listening to them, I was 10 when License to Ill was dropped, I would fall asleep listening to to that cassette tape, had my boombox right behind my pillow
I've seen this music video so many times but I finally realized that these weren't random construction workers caught in the middle of it and they were supposed to be spacemen 😂😂
When I had my Klipsch Chorus IIs set up with a 125 watt per channel Sansui 990DB the BASS sounds and production on this track are absolutely stunning. Wound tight and chest crushing.
“Root Down”, “Shake Your Rump”, “3 MC’s and 1 D.J.”, “The New Style”, “Too Many Rappers” (with Nas), “Paul Revere” and “Sabotage” are all phenomenal Beastie Boys songs. These guys are absolutely iconic and they are definitely Hip Hop royalty. 👍🔥
More reactions to the GREAT BEASTIE BOYS Root down 3 mcs and 1 dj Sabotage Pass the mic Sure shot Thank youuuuuu ❤️ for reacting to the GREAT BEASTIE BOYS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Beastie Boys were the FIRST RAP GROUP TO SELL A PLATINUM ALBUM. FIRST RAP GROUP TO TOUR INTERNATIONALLY, Biggest selling rap album of the 1900s was License to Ill. Run DMC made a Gold album just before them, but RAP WAS NOT ACCEPTED outside of NYC until the Beasties came along. Beastie Boys 1979-2012.
The video was supposed to be a play off of or a tribute to old Japanese TV shows and movies that use "Kaiju" and "Mecha" or large monsters/robots that attack each other. It was sometimes known as "suitmation" where the sets were just minitures of cities or streets, and actors would wear the suits of the monsters. Special effects were hand-drawn, mini-explosives, wires with flammable materials, etc... mostly practical effects.
If you havent gone down the Beastie Boys rabbit hole...prepare your jaw to be in the ground...40yr old songs/beats are better than today's: Try: Paul Revere (the beat on this one will stun you btw) Shake Your Rump Three MCs and One DJ Sure Shot Intergalactic Pass the Mic New Style Make Some Noise Rhymin and Stealin No Sleep Til Brooklyn Too Many Rappers (ft Nas) Sabotage Brass Monkey And sooooo many more...start and u wont stop..and youll see their bars, beats, and flow holds up even today..do these reactions and watch your views and subs skyrocket from Beastie Boys fans!
Also, they filmed this video without the proper permits from the Japanese authorities. The 'extras' were just civilians wondering what these crazy Americans were up to! True guerilla theater.
Reactors never notice that the three scientists controlling the robot are the Beastie Boys in costumes. For Leem2 I'd suggest reacting to some of their interviews. They further show their creative genius by their improvising ridiculous funny answers to the dumb questions the interviewers ask. There's one where the interviewer asked what they did between records and they answer that they've been pursuing oceanographic research.
They weren't allowed on MTV because they were three Jewish boys who were from the Bronx who everyone thought were a rock group...until they released "(Fight For Your Right) to Party ", then the station went back and played Michael Jackson and many African American singers and hip-hop artists.
Beastie Boys are the greatest hip hop group of all time. Period. Others will argue but they're wrong.
Facts hold up. Still ain't seen someone reproduce something on the level of 3 MCs One DJ

The music video was a throwback to Kaiju Japanese movies, like the old Godzilla movies
Also, they filmed this video without the proper permits from the Japanese authorities.
The 'extras' were just civilians wondering what these crazy Americans were up to!
True guerilla theater.

In defense of them the boys have their faces covered with oversized safety glasses and hard hats most of the time here while rapping.
They were impossible to interview
🤖 when this track came out I got stuck on this song for weeks and I hadn’t even seen the video for months later. 💜
