The plan is to go along Croatia , enter Montenegro (cross the mountains there 🚵♀) and continue to Albania and Greece. To reach Istanbul I decided to take a ferry somewhere close to Izmir and bike in Turkey. The fun part: somehow I also need to return, so far my plan to return to Vienna is along the Danube. Do you have any recommendations for the route (maybe some amazing things to see or some better ideas)?
Great video! Loved the honesty about bike travel. Adventure definitely isn't only great views and lovely cafes. I'm curious where do you leave the bike when visiting grocery stores? Do you lock it outside hoping nobody steals anything from bags?
Hey, thank you - it is really motivating to hear! Haha thats is a great question, I generally put a chain (but it is a very light one so also easy to break) during the first weeks I searched for smaller markets so I could have an eye on my bike, the longer I stayed in the game the more relaxed I got. But yes I always hated to leave my bike outside, in some places I locked my bike to something since I was mostly afraid of the bike then the bags (in there is mostly dirty clothes and it would take too long to steal anything from there). The really valuable items like camera, bike computer I took with me (and even if I wild camped I took them into the sleeping bag).
I have visited Croatia 2 times already and I really loved it there. Didn't really notice back then the traffic problems as I was using buses to move around, but looks a bit like a rollercoaster of emotions to bike on the streets haha. Dalmatia is really beautiful, it is the southern region. Pretty sure you will love it there

Hehe thanks for your comment. Black / Dark blue because it was the only Color available 🫣 and long because otherwise my arms will get sunburn in few minutes 🫠
Istria is heavily influenced by Italian "driving school". I personally avoid to drive there. I still do not get how well mannered people turn to crazy drivers there.
Interesting that you say this because the longer I biked in Croatia and the further I got, especially after Rijeka, the traffic got way better and the drivers started to care about each other. Let's hope it improves over time :-D
