this game is pretty incredible in my opinion. besides the info about the human body.. the biggest benefit I see from giving a child this is teaching / showing them about EMPATHY and how to care for others. That alone is worth the few 'cons' for it. Thanks for the review!
It's annoying that they lie about how you get a cold. So many people were taught that getting wet and cold is how you catch a cold but it is just wrong. We associate them with getting cold because when it is cold outside people tend to be in more enclosed spaces with each other and germs spread faster
Also, being cold/damp can lower your immune defenses bc your body spends more energy keeping its temperature up, which may make you more likely to get sick
@Latest Obssesion a cold is a viral infection of your upper respite tract. It is different and generally not as bad as a flu, but it is still a virus.

I feel like this would be an amazing tool for kids in general who are young and wary of the doctor, but also foster kids and kids in life skills classes who are at a higher risk of bad experiences in medical facilities.
I have childhood medical traumas and I feel like such games would be really helpful, especially with understanding what's going on! 🤔

When you test products on Amazon that are good you can add a link that I believe gives you a little money. But also makes it easier for people to find the products, like that resin cup set that I was trying to find after it went well for you.
My youngest daughter would love this, she has had a few of the Dr/nurse kits but she lacks someone to play with, her sister doesn't play well and after a while as an adult I have things that need doing or just get bored! This would be an amazing Christmas present for an only child who loves playing games like these

As an American- we really need to switch to Celcius 😭 It makes way more sense and literally everyone else uses it- America was supposed to switch a long time ago but when Reagan got in office his cancelled it- If it doesn’t change before I have children, I’m going to teach my kids both to make their lives easier
As an American I completely agree (besides it making way more sense lol. To me it makes sense that really cold is 0 and really hot is 100 and I don’t understand Celsius) It would make life a billion times easier if we all used the same units but no, as Americans we have to make everything more complicated than it has to be 😂

I would have loved this as a kid, but I was a kid during the 90's. I wanted to be a doctor or vet when I was little. I think it looks amazing and its educational too. Though $60 is alot for just the tools imo. Especially since tablets can be pretty pricey.
If you already have the tablet it wouldn't be as big of a deal.
the average temperature for a person in Fahrenheit is 98.6° anything below is considered hyperthermia(meaning cold) and anything above is a fever(meaning hot). A temperature above 104° is severely life threatening and anything below 93° is as well.
So the wet guy with a 98° F temperature doesn't fall under severity.
(I do agree that there should be a setting for either Celsius or Fahrenheit to be more universally optional )
So you actually have it backwards. Hyper means above. Hypo means below. So fever is hyperthermia and cold is hypothermia. You are correct in saying the average temp is 98.6 but if I remember right it’s not considered hypothermia until your body temp reaches 95 degrees F and they do not consider it a fever until 100 degrees F. 99-100is considered a low grade fever. If I remember right you are not hyperthermic until 105 but yes anything above 104 becomes dangerous. My body temp runs at 97.6 and that’s completely normal and some peoples runs as low as 96 and they are still ok and some peoples runs 99-100 and they are ok. Everyone is a tad different. But you are absolutely right they should have an option to change the setting considering America is the only place that uses F I believe.

I remember my daughter was bridesmaid for a friend and a few days before the wedding she got chicken pox, she was still bridesmaid she was just a spotty one and by then she wasn't contagious. It was a great day enjoyed by all, my friend when I called her to let her know and to tell her it was ok if she didn't want a spotty bridesmaid she said she didn't care as the photographer could always air brush the spots out lol. Oh I hope the bride has a silver sixpence to put in her shoe for good luck 😃🥂

I was very surprised to hear conjunctivitis. I actually just finished medicating my new kittens for that yesterday! Though instead of eye drops I had to put ointment on their eyeballs. They were not happy, but finally after ten days of treatment they're feeling much better :)

Haha the phrasing is that way to ensure you cannot sue them. If you experience an issue, it means that it could or could not be there, depending on the outcome of the solution provided and/or analysis been done. I think a lot of companies do it like that. Not to gaslight a customer, but to protect their own business.

Yes 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is normal temperature for a person. I can tell this is aimed for the USA so I agree with you that a conversion might be a good idea if they want this to be more international.

I do think that the level of learning you have changes how thing's work in game. So maybe thats why some things aren't labeled or such. You did pick grade 8 which in America is almost in high school

He is at the right age for it (2nd grade).
I do, however, wonder about the age levels. You selected 8th grade... and the average kid at that grade level would find this too "basic".
Maybe it gets better at higher levels, but I seriously think that after 6th grade, kids would feel this is to young for them.

Fahrenheit for human temperatures is actually really easy, as it was (according to fun facts I've heard) developed based on the blood temperatures of horses! Under 98 is fine, 99 is a mild fever, and over 100 is a full on fever.

I would have loved this as a little grain! I'm glad, too, they used the real name of the infection of the eye instead of just calling it "pink eye". There are improvements they could make, but it looks like a good start.

That was pretty cool! Wish there were things like that when I was a kid. About the Fahrenheit vs Celsius.. I live in the US and I have to take my temperature daily because of an autoimmune disease. For some reason my thermometer gave up on Fahrenheit and changed over to Celsius. Now my temperature chart goes from 102.6 to 39.2 🫤😅
Jackie! I see all of these “Jackie should be a teacher!” Comments, but I swore a couple years ago, you were actually teacher in a school? Ok this is adorable, I used to play pretend being a vet as a little kid with a toy kit and I probably would have loved this hahahah. The educational part kind of reminds me of a few Nintendo DS games I had, one even taught me the name and placement of all organs and bones.
It's good to see some actual educational toys on the matter after all the weird stuff that became popular on the internet :)

My only issue is that the game creators have characters catching colds from getting wet, or from cold water. This is misinformation! Don't teach kids that getting wet can make you sick! (I have a hard enough time getting my kiddo into the bath as it is!) Colds are caused by viruses...teach that you need to keep your hands clean and away from your face when people around you are coughing!

I like the idea, but they need an actual doctor to verify the information being presented. Colds are not caused by playing in cold water, so the elephant bit was a little misleading.

So I want to explain the “stuffy lungs”. I am a medical assistant. So what they showed was bpm or beats per minute (how many beats your heart does in one minute) . This is how you read pulse. You can do it with a stethoscope on the chest but it’s not the common way. Also you do listen to the lungs with the stethoscope on your chest. But you can not tell the condition of the lungs with the bpm and you can not listen to the lungs and heart at the same time. So with a common cold you aren’t going to have “stuffy lungs”. This is referring to basically liquid it mucus build up in the lungs. To have that you have a bad respiratory infection like pneumonia, rsv, croup, c0vid, and so on. Not a common cold. Also with the temp it read 98 degrees F. A typical healthy persons temp in F should be around 98.6. It can be different though. My typical temp is 97.6. But if you have a cold you typically will have at least a low grade fever which is 99 point anything. Not saying you can’t have a cold without a fever but his temp is low especially for having a cold. This is what I was afraid of with the app was having incorrect information. I want to see more to see if it continues with incorrect information. But if you have a medical based game you need to either have knowledge of the medical field or research it. I know this is for kids but it still needs to be accurate

Hey, there is another interactive kit like this called osmo it has many upon many different kits and interactive elements catering to learning that uses similar tech but I think is really fun
this game looks super fun for the kiddos, one little odd things I noticed when the boy got his eye drops it showed the Aliment as ........sour eyes not sore eyes..... maybe I need eye drops
This is just my opinion so do not come at me. Personally, as a kid, I would not want this toy. I think that learning toys are not as fun as mindless playing. Even for this being an educational game I do agree that this should’ve been released later with more consultation from other people so that the company truly can make the most of the $60. I also feel that it’s kind of a rip off because you’re paying $60 for plastic tools and then nothing for the app. I feel a fair price would be more of like $30 for this whole set together. I also feel that this app needs a heck of a lot more troubleshooting and settings options and I think it would be better as a free place set up. And also I don’t think it’s entirely accurate. With sander the snake, they said that her rattle was fractured and you need to fix it. Rattlesnakes rattle’s can come off the grill with each shed. So I wish instead of making the repair her rattle that they explained why her rattle was broken and explain the process of regrowing it, so my verdict is I don’t like this app. I don’t think it’s very accurate when it comes to the animals and I understand it’s for kids but if they have an option for eighth graders as an eighth grader, I am not impressed by this and I would not waste your money on it.
