The MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe is powered by pure analog bucket-brigade technology, serving up shimmering, liquid chorus and swooshing, metallic flanger effects while preserving the punch and fundamental of your low end.
The Bass Chorus Deluxe features top-mounted Flanger and X-Over buttons with LED status indicators. In X-Over Mode, modulation in low frequencies is decreased at 100Hz-perfect for playing upper register chords, melodies and fills while keeping the low end in tune. With Bass and Treble controls you can cut or boost lows and highs and shape the tonal character of the effect. For a wide stereo sound, select the TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) Stereo Hardwire Bypass Mode via an internal switch. In this mode, you can use a TRS to TS (tip-sleeve) Y-splitter cable to send the effect signal to two different amplifiers, allowing the modulation to move from left to right.
The Bass Chorus Deluxe joins the ranks of award-winning pedals in the MXR Bass Innovations line, each designed by bass players for bass players.

MXR, give Juan his commission because he just sold me this pedal.
Short and sweet! A demo with great playing, brevity, style, and you still managed to show the entire functional range of the pedal. Well done!
I can listen to this all day
Fender+Ampeg+MXR+Juan,... Yes! Alderete=Bass God & His Bass Jewels.
Catchy little song he made for the video tho.
When the X over kicks in 🙏🏼
thats is the best demo for any pedal ive ever seen. There was no talking, but everything was thourougy explained, Juan knew exactly what he was doing and showed exactly what the pedal could do, all without saying a word, we heard clean tone in the beginning, and every mode of tye pedal great demo, the is pedal would sound killer with bass and guitar. i want one, and i suggest egeryone else gets one.
these new mxr demo videos are awesome! makes me want to buy everything haha
The guy playing bass is from The Mars Volta
Juan Alderete!
Great bassist.
The intro song he plays is from his band Big Sir, it´s called Lisa´s Theme, a true gem
yep, probably one of his best basslines
Shimmering dude!
I need one of these for my Rickenbacker Bass.
Everyone, come look! Hes got a Rickenbacker!
like if you want another video of the bass chorus deluxe.
Yes. Great video, cool pedal. I'd love to see more. I'd also like to see it on guitar, and together with a Carbon Copy. - And I'd love to hear what TWO Bass Chorus's together sounds like! :)
Cool! Saw this on his Facebook page, didn't expect him to be in the demo!
One of my favorite pedals
a fretless bass is like gods having underwater sex !
Sounds amazing
This pedal will be on my doorstep in two days, Can't wait!!!
Mr Juan Aladerete! MONSTER!
The fretless made this demo even better.
watching this and Aguilar Chorusaurus...still undecided
Finger style review...YES!
Got mine a week ago. It's amazing
for this video now im thinking to buy 1 of that n will do it.
finally a demo of this pedal :D !!!!
I believe that usually occurs when a pedal has true bypass switching, you can actually hear the pop a bit when Juan kicks on the pedal in the pedal initially.
They might use a relay for the bypass
What? Lisa's Theme right at the beginning? I knew it was gonna be a good vid. Pedal sounds nice too.
Great pedal. Super sterile amp tone on that demo though. Guess they did that to show the quality of the effects.
i had to look it up. apparently, the bass and treble knobs only cut and boost the wet signal. you guys could have been more clear about that. @1:24
Why? They don't market it as an EQ pedal in bypass mode.
Sick
JUAN ALDERETE!!!!!
this guys really know how to make grate videos
Wish it had a Phaser instead of a Flanger option. Outstanding Pedal though.
Banana Joe phaser is not bucket brigade chip based... phaser uses an LFO (low frequency oscillator) and a comb filter instead (if you can find a video on the EarthQuaker devices Grand Orbiter v2 or v3 it has a mode that cuts off the LFO so you can hear what the comb filter does... kind of a low-fi sound.)
Anyone here tried this on a 6 string? How does the flanger sound on it? I've been looking for a dual chorus/flanger that's small...
I wish there were a tab or something for this.
You got your ears man!
I've only been playing bass for about a month
it sounds like hurt by NIN
Please do a six-string guitar demo for this pedal!
I hear Jaco…
Should I get this or the boss chorus ensemble? And is the flanger strong enough for something like 46 and 2?
Which one did you buy?
are those round wound strings? I just got a fretless and it came with flats. doesn't sound anywhere as bright as this. tone knob on full.
They are round wounds.
+loku8511 Get your fingerboard finished (if it isn't yet) and put round wounds on it. Flats are a very specific, limited sound.
+Dick The Birthday Boy Poor idea if it's a stock fretless and not converted if you ask me but whatever
Try Pressurewound strings by GHS. They give you a roundwound type sounds without tearing your fingerboard up as much
The cure sounds 😁
Hi there! i just bought it and i love the sound of it but im getting a pop sound sometimes when switching on...What could it be?
Awesome. is all i can say
Does anyone know the name of the song he is playing when he turns the flanger on?
Has anyone tried this with guitar? I feel like it'd sound so awesome... I play bass and guitar and this video makes me want to practice bass a lot more. Gnarly pedal.
And this video is so well done it's almost like a short film lol.
Huge volume bump when flanger is engaged at 2:07. Come on, MXR...
nice... now i need it... where is my money?
Perfect for playing in the bedroom
Well, definitely - if you have no one to play with , or are not creative enough to utilize it in a band setting.
Sounds like Jaco...
i swear at 1:25 starts a Type o negative riff, what song is that .. ( wonders )
awesome! kinda reminds of everything dies.
Alan G. , not everythin d. but another tune off that Album
Lore Muhler possibly everyone I love is dead, around the middle of the song peter plays some hatmonics
maybe Wolf Moon
nine inch nails - hurt reff
How this pedal work with a bass synthesizer? Problems with line level input?
Is there a stereo demo around?!
+Goth108 not stereo
+Eric sin sinner how do you mean? The Bass Chorus Deluxe has a TRS out, and an internal switch can change between mono or stereo operation. I own this pedal meanwhile and it creates lovely stereo chorusing, which sadly isn't monocompatible tho.
Goth108
I didnt see that in the manual ill have to look again, I just bought a Hardwire RV-7 and a Marshall RG-1 more for the vibe
+Eric sin sinner just open it up, change the position of the little internal switch and insert a standard TRS insert cable for rich stereo chorusing.
+Goth108 just bought a hardwire RV seven and a marshal regenerator
Are they demonstrating this pedal by playing an imitation of Continuum by Jaco Pastorious?
Dry sounded sweeter imho! :)
This sounds like you got stranded in the middle of nowhere and this would play
*car breaks down* 0:00
*gets pulled over* : 0:00
*gets shit on by a bird* : 0:00
What happens if you use guitar
Jin Lim You get chorus!
I thought that was Juan.
So much?
What is the song at 1:26?!? :O
too much treble when it's turned on ... tone was better off
Too much of this demo features both the chorus and the flange with the rate all the way up. Rotating speaker effect is better for guitar or others. Modulation effects on bass sound best with rate no higher than noon.
can you fucking dont do it with a fretless bass? the majority of the people here don't play fretless. you can't explain that.
Can you be fucking polite?
Käptn Haddock no.
Funkmentality they didi with a fretless because it imitates jaco pastorius sound
Juan did it with fretless because that's his bass of choice. If anyone is the least bit interested, there are plenty of interviews with Juan and he states numerous times that fretless is his voice. The Jaco thing not withstanding.
@Funkmentality Dunlop/MXR invited Juan to do a playthrough video. He played his bass his way. It's meant to be an example of what one can do with the product...not an all encompassing demonstrating every single permutation of use. So perform this mental exercise...imagine the video devoid of portamento and you'll get an idea what the pedal sounds like.
Too cartoonish...
