- Lochmaben Castle was a stronghold of the Bruce Family for many years, but the Wars of Independence saw it change hands many times, before Edward Bruce recaptured it, and Robert finished building it. Here's a wee history of the Castle.

I make these short #history films as a hobby, so I don't make any money from them. If you have liked what I do, maybe you could buy me a coffee?

Yet another most appreciated historical remembrance, Angela. Memory Lane. I shall now delve even deeper into this worthy artefact. Thank you.
I visited Lochmaben Castle circa 1992, with my Darling Mary. At the time, we resided at East Orchard Cottage, Beattock, and _sojourned_ to the Castle one old weekend afternoon. Lonely, ethereal aspect, for which we were grateful. Years before, my Paternal Granny Reid told me, at age eight, I have the Second Sight! A grateful insight, as I then and now understand 'stuff' that others perhaps do not experience.
All the best, Angela. I will surely donate what I can towards your new camera.
