I’ve just recently received a chinchilla as a Christmas gift from my sister after two of my three rabbits passed away one passed away in my arms. An I’ve been using these videos and others like them to help learn the best to care for her. Right know my major goal is to win her trust and affection. Shes still young and small so but I hope someday she’ll allow me to hold and pet her someday.
Great content! I feel guilty now for not letting them out to play as often as I'd like. 1/2 times a week for us, but usually for at least an hour while we clean the cage. We have 2. One *loves* what we call pillow treats - niblots flavoured treats that look a bit like shreddies. One refuses most treats but will try to steal human treats like crackers and fig roll. Love my boys ^^
I freaking love the dog agility video!!! And the chins are super cute, too!! But, I would like some more dog agility course videos too, please. You do a great job sis, keep up the good work.
Love your channel!! My family recently bought 2 chins for Xmas for me and I love them so much!! Your channel has helped alot.. also I was told by the person who sold them to us.. that if I'm ever unsure about toys.. that bird toys are actually good for them too because the majority of them would be just wood toys and chins are ok with these.. mine seem to love the wicker balls and boredom chews ATM but I want to buy them more of a variety so thank you :)
Such a great video!! They really need huge cages and a whole room to run around in (just like you have) I have a double critter nation for my girl with a 16" wheel and let her out for playtime in a big chin safe room at night. Chews are definitely a running expense!! I love pandamonium pets 😊
My chin is super shy, she doesn’t like to be held, but she loves scratches. I have to ask her permission first, if I don’t she’ll be mad at me😅 she definitely responds to when I talk to her which is nice too. It’s been hard to bond since her sister passed.
All such important information!! Would have loved to know a few more of these tidbits back when I rescued my first chin. 🐭 My chin floofs all love the sticks from NOLA Chin Rescue, per your recommendation to us! 🙌🏻🙏🏻 Question for you, if I may ask? - Have you ever had a batch of sticks (from other sources than you listed) be less “dried out” than you’d expect? I’ve seen a stick or two in one of our batches look a little green on the inside, and that worries me. Especially since 3/4 chins have suddenly had unexpected gut issues after being completely fine? The only common denominator is the green-ish sticks? ☹️ Could be something else affecting them, but the environment, food supply, play area have all been status quo? Maybe a bad batch of hay that didn’t affect 1/4 somehow?
I have a little boy chinchilla he’s almost 3 yrs old now , I find parrot toys work best for chewing needs and they actually last longer , chinchilla toys he chews them up first day he gets them so parrot toy’s definitely more cost effective …chinchillas are great little pets , very sweet !!!
I have never kept my chin in a cage, ever. I have never owned a cage. It is hard to do, it takes major preparation and work to keep it safe. After 2 years he has never had any health issues, plus no vet trips. You MUST chinproof everything you own in it's room though.
I live on a farm so all that chinchilla material is very necessary. A wheel a handful of grass and above all safe wood. There are dogs and cats so chinchillas would have a life expectancy of thirty years or less.
I absolutely love your channel. I come here to learn about our chinchilla Davey Baby. I really would like to know how to potty train him, but I didn't see on your channel that you had a video about that. I'd like your opinion, as I think you have a ton of knowledge on these cute animals. I would really appreciate it.
I wish l had computers and you when l owned one in 1980. So much to learn. I came across a shocking book from the 60’s about breeding chinchilla’s for their fur. Awful. But things happen and once there was slavery Etc. My zchinchilla in his metal cage made such a noise after 8pm. Through the day he slept. If one wishes to get one of these. Please think about this issue. brilliant channel. Thank you.
Is ok if a wheel is made of wood and is 11 inches and what kind of toys should I put around my chinchillas play room not his enclosure because I’m having a hard time finding some
great video!! if you happen to be answering questions, i was wondering if you could give any advice. we recently adopted some chins and while they've clearly been socialized well previously (walking up to us when we approach, even climbing on us from the second floor of the cage) we're not sure how to transfer the chins from cage to play area without grabbing them. they're obviously not big fans of that and while i plan on training them to see if ican get them to at least tolerate it id like to not resort to that until then. they're clearly getting a bit pent up and while im waiting for a chin spin, id like to release some of their energy. what would you advise?
I have a chinchilla, and when she takes a dust bath the dust flies everywhere. Is there a way you prevent your chinchillas dust flying everywhere leaving a mess?
I know that this is a random question, but since you have male chinchillas, what do you do when they go through a hor*y stage. Especially when it seems uncontrolled and every day. I didn’t think that they could be like this when I got him from the pet store, and there was no warning.
Can anyone help me out. I got my daughter a chinchilla a few months ago and the cage we got has a plastic tray at the bottom that slides in and out. Our chinchilla started chewing holes in the corners of the plastic tray and can now escape through them. Anyone have any suggestions for a cage that doesn’t have that plastic tray? Please and thank you
Knox is my favorite!!!! He is so awesome, i absolutely love his personality and his coloring.
I agree

They are absolutely beautiful little floofs. ❤❤❤ Thank you for your channel and sharing your babies with us!

What wonderful animals!! Like bunnies with hands! I used to have a pet bunny and he was the best. I would looove a chinchilla.
I love the toys from Whimsy’s Menagerie 😊. I order from them a lot.
Look at those mouse-rabbit ears, so adorable. Those ears are getting lots of exercise. Or earcercise.
Heeeyyyyy:D❤
Early hehehhe😊

It’s amazing how you’re making a profit off a such niche market. Good job as a content creator and businesswoman! Great job!
Chins sound really cool!
If you were around in the 60’s one could have bread them for their fur.
Thank you so much for these videos

I haven’t had a bad batch before but that 100% sounds like the culprit!

Knox is the cutest and the smartest ❤️
I might get a chinchilla, but I’m going to watch these videos first for advice and about them 👍
That’s a great idea! They aren’t pets for everyone, but can make great companions for the right people 😊

I want a chinchilla for 3 years now but i have a cat :/
Hey, cats are great! 😊 And if you ever do get a chin, make sure to keep them separate ❤🐱
Same
Cats are the worst pets ever. I've got a rabbit. So much better
@@joshuaperry8729 Hi, please take that back. I love my cat to the moon and back and they are loving and intelligent creatures
@@joshuaperry8729 It's not a contest - both bunnies and cats are awesome.

Can you please make a video what do you do with them if you travel somewhere on a holiday, do you leave them to your mom/friend
I’m doing a project on chinchillas as pets, and if it’s a good pet for family’s, and your channel has helped so much! But what’s your opinion?
Thanks for the Tuition ...
My chinchilla is 7 years old his name is chippy
I love these little dummies so dang much.
Me too 🥹
Can you do an experiment on how many balloons it take for them to float
My chin’s favorite toy is apparently my glasses. She will steal them right off my face and run for it.

What do you do with the “discarded” foraged hay? Put it back in the food bin or toss it ?
i'm a big big fan of you
Thank you!! 😊
Knox planning his escape.
Would a really big hamater playpen work as a good way for them to get out of the cage?
Are the "disk-like" running wheels safe for chins?
I took your advice on exercise/playtime everyday and she died of heatstroke... I used to do it once a month. 😭😭😭
Wow they are huge they look so small in the videos Idk why but now that I see their FINAL FORM it makes the Stick Linus uses look like a log….
Are bamboo chews ok too?

It's 4 you have. They are so cute ❤

Same but I have a chinchilla lol
Where I’m from we actually eat these creatures, they’re rich in nutrients and the meat near the backbone can be made extremely tender
